We learned a lot of information about turquoise. I had no idea how many different kinds of turquoise there is. My friend was looking for a matching earrings for her bracelet. Owner told us that particular turquoise is no longer mined but eventually we found some earrings that were a close match. We both purchased a couple pieces. The only criticism I have is the owner doesn't stay focused. He is very very knowledgeable all things turquoise but we didn't need to hear the history of every piece that we were not even interested in. He kept showing my friend items that she wasn't in there to look at We almost left until a pair of earrings caught my eye that I thought would match her bracelet. They were a very close match so she did make a purchase. Even though he said more than once: These earrings are expensive and I would hate for you to pay that much‍ He almost lost a $1000 sale between her and I because he was not focused and even tried to discourage the earring purchase at one point. If you are wanting beautiful one of a kind pieces, this is the place to go. Just be prepared to be in there awhile.

I picked up some salvaged steel and sterling silver earrings by Pyper Hugos. Edgy but delicate with colors that pop. Super nice sales woman too. I even got a filmmaker discount thanks to being a part of the festival. Talk about a romance in Durango. I love this place.

I dropped them off and told the woman working behind the counter that I needed the rings bigger and she just took my rings and didn't ask any questions. A few hours later I got a call, came in and described to another woman what I needed to have done. She said that I would get a call from "Bill" and he would tell me the time frame in which the rings would take to be done. A week and a half later I got a call from "Bill" and all he said was he had questions and when I got a chance to call him back, he was never around. I never got my bands sized, yet they had my rings for over a week. I am now taking them to a well known place I trust in Denver and will never use this place again.

Visiting from another tourist town, I really appreciated the work that must have gone into finding such a great collection of unique things. I know that many times in these types of town it is all too easy to just go for the mass produced, seen everywhere variety of goods. We left with a couple of pieces of jewelry ( it was my birthday) and some beautiful blown glass drinking glasses. The glasses are a favorite in our house ( too bad the kids like them so much- one ended up broken after been dropped a few times) and I get compliments on my jewelry every time I wear it. I noticed another review mentioned the "chatty" employee. I also assumed that the young woman we spoke to was the owner. I loved her friendliness! Again, coming from another tourist town full of galleries I found it refreshing to be greeted by someone who was not stuffy and was welcoming and friendly even when walking through the door with four children in tow. She even recommended a great place to eat and fun things for the kids to do. We will be visiting Azul again when we make it back to Colorado!
