It's on a quiet little side street, with an inviting open door in good weather. The store /gallery has a beautiful assortment of pottery, jewelry, art, pairings, saddles, decor, blankets, leatherwork, and more. This is not an inexpensive tourist trap shop. You'll find wonderful quality, beautifully artistic pieces. Prices vary from low to high - there are wonderful things for most any budget. I came to browse the store first, left, made my rounds of Durango window shopping and did some touristy buys, and then I came back here for my lovely jewelry purchase. The staff were extremely nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. I was impressed with their telling of back stories about the artist who made the earrings I purchased. It made my purchase more personal and special. Stop in. Browse. Staff don't mind lookie lous. Maybe you'll find a treasure too.

Don't get me wrong! That stuff is definitely nice and it has its place, but Studio & has that edgy modern feel that gets me every time! They do openings every so often with free wine and snacks which is always a plus, but most importantly the artists are all down to earth and amazing! Also they are usually at the openings to discuss their prices with the public. It seems like whenever I'm there, there is a new exhibited or newly featured artist. They also participate in the Bizzare Bazzar during Christmas time. Needless to say I got so many unique and quirky gifts for my friends out of town. After searching for goldsmiths in the Durango area, I found Adam Parker at Sunsapphires. I saw his original work and was so impressed, we decided instead of a repair, I would have Adam make me a new ring using my original gemstones. Adam was extremely helpful in creating a new design, made a 3D printer model, and completed the final ring in a timely fashion. We are thrilled with his work. We highly recommend Adam Parker and Sunsapphires for all of your jewelry needs. The shop also has a stained glass studio where you can try out your artistry and many selections of stained glass for purchase.

We learned a lot of information about turquoise. I had no idea how many different kinds of turquoise there is. My friend was looking for a matching earrings for her bracelet. The only criticism I have is the owner doesn't stay focused. He is very very knowledgeable all things turquoise but we didn't need to hear the history of every piece that we were not even interested in. He kept showing my friend items that she wasn't in there to look at We almost left until a pair of earrings caught my eye that I thought would match her bracelet. They were a very close match so she did make a purchase. Even though he said more than once: These earrings are expensive and I would hate for you to pay that much‍ He almost lost a $1000 sale between her and I because he was not focused and even tried to discourage the earring purchase at one point.
