I contacted them through Yelp and got a prompt response, unlike a number of other contractors I contacted the same way. Lenny came over right away, scoped the property out, and gave me a competitive bid. He was easy to talk to, friendly and forthcoming with details. The whole job took Lenny, David and Gustavo about 4 days, including pressure washing, trim removal & replacement, taping off, detail work and cleanup. The results were entirely satisfactory. I would recommend Three Stars Painting and would consider using them again for future painting projects.

That was 18 months ago and now it looks even worse after going through an Oregon winter unprotected. I have called, texted, emailed and he is no longer responding to me. I offered to pay again, since the initial job looked great, and I assume it was a bad batch of stain, AND I offered not to hold him to 5 year guarantee again. No response. But the "warranty" apparently is bogus, and he is not even giving me the courtesy of telling me he is unwilling to fix things, and unwilling to give me any recommendations for a different painter. I could have done it myself and rented a sprayer. But I would have had to buy tarps, and a lot of tape, and better ladders etc. and it was just too daunting. So the walls weren't getting painted. Jim did the whole job in a day for $700 and with a guarantee. He used the best paint, and would come back to touch-up any missed spots, but we haven't found any. No mess, no bother, no straining my neck and shoulders, no clean-up, and no rentals to return. Well worth the price.

We are sure glad we did! First of all, you will be hard pressed to find a nicer and more honest person than Jim. Second, he is VERY skilled in his craft. Our home looks BEAUTIFUL! The quality of the paint job is second to none. Jim also provided a color consultant. This is something that we would never have thought of. We had Shannon from Shannon Campbell Designs out to our home, and we went with colors that again, we would have never thought of. Our home colors are beautiful, and we have NEVER seen out exact color combo! Trust me, we spent literally months looking at homes, websites, etc to choose our colors. Jim and his crew pressure washed, prepped, and painted the house quickly. They left NO mess. Our painted decks were a total mess. They were so ugly that we used to close the slider door blinds when guests came over. Jim explained the correct paint to use so the deck could "breathe" and guaranteed that the decks paint won't peel again. Speaking of guarantees: Jim will come out annually for three years to inspect the paint, make sure all is well, and that we are happy. And finally, Jim told us that the paint job didn't require as much time to paint and prep it, so Jim cut the price of the job by $700.00! He could have kept the money and we still would have been thrilled. We were beside ourselves with Jim's honesty. This type of customer service is sorely lacking in our society.
