I visited this dentist just once and I am not impressed.
I visited as a new patient. There was an offer on their website for check ups for new patients at £20 so I thought why not, as I am looking for a new dentist.
I got to my appointment on time, but was made to wait almost 40 minutes before I could be seen. The dentist was with another patient, who had been called in as I arrived. Not sure if the appointments were running late or if they double booked, but it wasn't a great move! I wasn't given explanation but the receptionist, who is also the dental nurse, was very apologetic.
When I finally saw the dentist, I explained that my main reason for a check up was a toothache. He had a look at that tooth alone and took an xray, ignoring all my other teeth and not even having a look at them. He told me the tooth is fine but I have a gum problem. He gave me advice on dental hygeine to reverse the gum problem and told me it would help if I had a professional clean and asked if he should do it there and then. I asked him if my other teeth are ok, and he said he cannot check my teeth without having them cleaned (which, of course, I'd have to pay more for). Now, firstly, I brush my teeth twice a day, so I know my teeth aren't covered in plaque that you can't even see my teeth, and secondly, I know I have a cavity on another tooth as I saw it myself whilst looking in the mirror. What dentist is unable to undertake a simple check?! It was absurd. I'm thinking either he couldn't be bothered to have a look, or he saw me as a cash cow. At the point I decided I'm going to find a different dentist, namely one who can have a look at your teeth without claiming they can't do so without a professional clean.
I should add the dentist wasn't the most friendly and pleasant of people.
When it came to paying, they tried to charge me more than the price stated on their website. Once I questioned them they agreed to charge me £20.
I am not at all happy with this dentist, and I have visited a few! read more
