While I have not been in an Old Navy in quite a while, I purchased a pair of pants for traveling several years ago. I wear them all the time. Last week the zipper broke. I could not locate the pants on line on the Old Navy site. I called the Call Center and had them direct me to an Old Navy product manager who was able to identify the replacement pant...same pant with the same fabric configuration but a different name and different product number. Called the Metrotown location as it showed on line that they had them in stock. Krysta, the Manager, went to confirm they actually had them in stock and put them aside for me. They also honoured the on line price which was cheaper than the current retail price. The staff and service was great and it was a very positive experience. read more

I think I have outgrown Old Navy stuff. I used to love it in my teens and early 20s. I still go in there at times to buy some basic stuff like t-shirts, shorts and cardigans. I am no longer that interested in the accessories though they have pretty cute socks at times. It is still a good place to shop for kids clothing. One thing which frustrates me at times is that the prices do not reflect the promotion information which are placed there. So if you are into deals, do check carefully or ask the sales associate. Even then, sometimes the till does not have the promotional information and you may not notice it until you are home. I have taken to checking my receipt right on the spot. read more

I may not always find what I'm looking for at Old Navy, but they are damn good with their customer service! There is not a single time where I didn't get great service here. The staff are always helpful, friendly and in a good mood. (Not in a fake way either) It keeps me coming back and 1/10 times, I find something cute. You see, good customer service is important. Hi my name is Danielle, and I have been totally addicted to Old Navy since 1995, when the store opened up near me in Redwood City, California. I am disappointed that the US selection of clothing has not been fully imported to Canada yet, but a recent questionnaire from Old Navy did ask if I would be interested in a higher-end line of clothing at Old Navy, and I dutifully answered "h*ll yes!" In terms of ladies' wear (the only part I generally shop), this location has the full line of Canadian-available Old Navy wear, which is to say casual, almost-business-casual, workout wear, and accessories. They participate in the Old Navy promotions as expected, and if you are in the store frequently, you will almost always get surveys, bonus cash, or stamp cards to make virtually every purchase a "sale" purchase. I find their regular prices are only okay, so I appreciate the discounts. Old Navy clothing is not always made to last multiple seasons, but I have found that the jeans and khakis, including shorts, do have a significant life span, as do some of the sweaters. The dressy & career lines from the States last indefinitely, which is also why I want to see those for sale in Canada. I personally don't expect t-shirts to survive very long, between the kids and dogs I hang out with, and for the $3 each I paid on Boxing Day, they can fall apart quickly and I will not complain (they are still hanging in there, FWIW). Speaking of Boxing Day, I did get up early last Boxing Day and waited in line with a friend at this Old Navy location for a free Kodak HD waterproof video camera, and some amazing deals (about $170 worth of merchandise for $45, including quite a few of the aforementioned t-shirts). read more

Located at one of the wings of Metrotown, it is one of the bigger stores inside the mall. They do have good deals occasionally at the clearance section. However I find the clearance racks to be messy, unorganized and sometimes quite empty. Usually if you want the best deals, wait until they have an additional 40% off already reduced items. Since the store is so big, you need to look around for an associate to help you but they are friendly and helpful. Cashiers can improve a little with their wait times during peak holiday hours as I saw super long lineups and I cannot imagine what it would be like on Boxing Day yikes!! Prices are usually reasonable but always wait until there is a deal first! Store is usually well organized except for their clearance racks as mentioned earlier. read more

I like this store a lot. I don't shop for myself much but I shop for my man. They have good selections, ok to good quality products and good price. Their customer service is very good as well. They're friendly, easy to talk to and very helpful. They know what they're doing and I like that. Store is usually very clean, well lit, organized and products are presented well. This store like many others is always after the bottom line at the HUGE expense of the customers and their poor workers. They need to hire more staff with varying ages and ethnicities, backgrounds etc. not drive them out or burn them out in their jobs, keep things calm and professional in the store which makes everyone happy. The lineups are just the tip of the iceberg and there are not ever enough employees to help. One person cannot do the job of many and it shows on the faces and in the emotions of the employees who have to bear the torture to gain a few measly bucks. Stock and sizing, as well as a clean store is important to any customer, however if there are no employees to assist or they are overworked and over-stressed, underpaid and left alone to fend for themselves while customers line up for the change room, to purchase, find a size, etc. what's the point? What is the most disturbing is seeing new or newer employees be put in positions where they take on a lead role which more than likely needs at least 3-5 people assisting them and switching around shifts - unfortunately, this is sad for the worker and customers and I'm sure the few cents difference in their paycheck would not cover the stress. When employees are talking about how they thought their hours would be a minimum of 25 hours for part-time with practically an open-ended schedule practically "on call" in the sense that if they have an entire week open for work, they may only get ZERO hours, not 25 hours. Low wages, extremely fast pace and intensity, extreme stress as well as lack of assistance does not make up for the cheaply made clothes and somewhat OK occasional sales. Unfortunately, what these workers complain about is not enough help, minimal hours, no full time positions unless in management, inability to support themselves if they try to work anywhere else unless its in the evening!! Dishonesty and misrepresentation is a bad theme and everyone suffers. read more

The last time I was here (about a year ago) I was generally displeased with everything about this location. It was a mess, the sales staff were inattentive and miserable and all the clothes was cheap looking. Today I went in and bought a decent dress for $30. They seem to have organized the place a bit more and I think they added more changing rooms. The staff was very friendly. There was one guy (the manager?) who was pretty annoying though. He was one of those people with no inside voice so I could literally hear him talking to other staff no matter where I was in the store. When I was paying for my dress he started yell-talking to the cashier that was helping me and it was pretty irritating. read more

I went to Old Navy today for their boxing Day sales in hopes of scoring a decent price for some dress shirts, however, was disappointed in the prices. I do not mind spending more than $20 for a dress shirt that is quality stiched and is a little thicker than a tea bag. This basic shirt that I wanted was $32...on sale. They have a lot of clothes in wide arrangements on styles, however, price vs. quanity is my main issue. The customer service was very friendly none the less. This is probably my least favourite Old Navy location in the lower mainland but because it's the closest to home, I end up here quite a bit. The selection just isn't as good as some of the larger stores (the one on Granville and Robson being the best) and they always seem to be out of SO many sizes. The customer service is completely lacking as well. The floor staff just do not give two sh*ts if you need any help at all. The sales rack is okay and the till lines move fast but it's still just not a great shopping experience all around. read more

This store is always a disaster, the displays are a mess and don't even try to look through the jeans. They rarely have any selection of sizes either. Save yourself the time and frustration and just order online and return what doesn't work. The staff here are very helpful with returns. read more

What a complete and total garbage can! Clothing all over the floor in huge piles that you'd have to stand on, if you were foolish enough to want to see something hanging above. OMG, what a scene, like a tsunami ripped through the store just before I entered. Staff milling around doing absolutely nothing, I asked one clerk if they had any more dresses like the one I pointed out, he said, "No, just what's there". 2 seconds later, I saw a rack full of them. Would not "price match" online sale price for the same item even though it's advertised on their Canadian website and it did not say "online only" anywhere on the page. Walked across the mall to American Eagle and found their in-store sale prices to be even better than their online prices. Oh well, not coming back anytime soon. read more
