Had a very disappointing experience at the Zara Metropolis location. The security guard stopped my husband with an unnecessarily harsh tone while he was holding a few items and simply looking for me inside the store. We explained several times that we were shopping together and planned to pay for everything at once, but the interaction was unprofessional and uncomfortable. The store manager was present but offered absolutely no assistance, no explanation, and no effort to resolve the situation. There was no disrespect from the manager, but the complete lack of response and indifference made the whole experience even more frustrating. This level of customer service is unacceptable for a brand of this size. read more

The people who work here don't seem to be friendly at all (except the young lady in the men's department, she was great) but the men are grumpy, stressed, hangry? The most improved and most tech savvy store in Metrotown IMO. Zara @Metrotown has been renovated and it looks like one of those high end stores. The floor is well designed and organized so customers can view most of the merchandise all at once. There aren't that many mirrors on the floor though which I thought was smart. This will prevent customers from trying on clothes outside the fitting rooms. When people try on clothes out on the floor, it makes the store look crowded and disorganized. It's better for the store and the customers to go to the fitting rooms instead. What really caught my attention was how easy it is to pick up an online order. There's a corner where you can scan your QR code and your order is delivered in front of you like a soda can in a vending machine. I thought it was really cool! In addition, there are self-checkout machines where you can pay and bag your merchandise on your own. It's all so easy. The instructions are all enumerated on the screen and are easy to follow. I'm loving this whole new contactless checkout and online pickup! Kudos to Zara. read more

Zara has good quality clothing considering its price point. People seem to think its expensive, but if you look at the type of clothes they make and the quality, its well worth it. I'd rather shop here than Mexx or Banana hands down. Zara also seem to keep up with the latest fashion, so if you're a very stylish and fashionable individual you won't be too disappointed with Zara. As mentioned on the previous review, shopping here is soo easy. Not only is the store super clean and is easy to find sizes, you never get harassed my sales associates. But they are very helpful when you ask for help. Its not hard to find a sales associate either, cuz they're always around holding clothes and tidying up the store... no wonder its soo clean in there. I'm gonna reveal a huge secret here, but Zara only has 2 sales a year... and they're big sales too. 1 in the summer around July and on Boxing day. Once items go on sale at Zara, the price has nowhere else to go back down. This is the closest Zara store to Seattle, WA. Well, to my knowledge at least. Normally when I visit other cities, I try to hit up a Zara since I love their merchandise. Compared to other Zara stores I have visited (Miami, NYC, Los Angeles and Las Vegas) this one was very disorganized. I noticed a lot of the shoes on sale were missing a pair so it was frustrating to find a complete pair to try on. Clothes were also not neatly displayed and just thrown around. It was also a challenge to find help since it was hard to figure out who was an employee. The store was fairly crowded so that didn't help either. In the end, I did manage to find a pair of heels I fell in love with and they were 50% off. =D The next time I am visiting, I'll probably visit the Zara on Robson instead. read more

Its reduculous to keep a big store like that clean and neat and organized with 4-5 staff. There is no one to ask to find you the size you want, differnet colors ans styles of the clothes! The service was non-existent. There were a lot of people lining up for their pickup order yet every staff tried to look busy to avoid providing service to the customers. One staff would come, help get the package and then move on to do something else. I had to go to 3 staff personally to help me because the first two said they needed to confirm something with the manager and never came back. I love the fashion trends in the mens section, so unique and exclusive. They please my fashion needs and wants. A bite pricy, and unfortunately, it's not backed up by good quality. They use really nice materials, however, it's good to double check all seem lines. They tend to leave loose threads. Sizes are a usually very large, and they are always low on the smaller sizes. Staff seldom approach you and offer help, but if you ask them, they are rather helpful. I always make small talk to the cashier there. She was nice to talk to. I haven't encountered any bad customer service experience so far, although I have heard many stories regarding their bad customer service. A solid 4/5 read more

Not a big fan of this store. I've been in here so many times and I have yet to buy something. The store is always horribly disorganized with clothes thrown everywhere, and it's impossible to find anything here, or simply walk through the dump. Don't come in here if you get that claustrophobic feeling looking at mess, because the entire store is always a mess. I'm sure the staff work hard but the amount of people that go through this place makes it nearly impossible to keep neat. Most clothing look alright on the hanger, but awful when tried on. They have pretty strict security measures to prevent theft, but I don't see why people would bother stealing their trashy clothing. Purchased a pair of shoes here after trying one on. I went home and cut the labels & cord tying them together to find out that one shoe was half a size smaller. Went back to the store and explained the situation. The worker there wont let me refund or exchange because I cut the tags and they were not the same size. I then explained that I would except it to be the same size because it was tied together. He told me that it was my fault that I did not check clearly before purchasing it. Zara at Metrotown, by far, has the worst customer service one can ever imagine. My sister bought 3 clothes on the boxing day and the sales failed to remove the security tag on one of the clothes for her. She went back to the store on Dec 28, 2012 to get the security tag removed. The sale representative took her to the manager because my sister forgot to bring her receipt. Instead of waiting forever for the manager to finish talking on the phone, she decided to go home to get the receipt. However, as she left the store, the security stopped her because of the beeping from her security tag (also happened when she went in the store, but no one cared). The security brought her to the manager and they simply took away the clothes without any explanation (and refused to provide any explanation), in front of all the customers in the store. When my sister offered to leave her name, they didn't want her name and simply thought it's unnecessary. The manager wouldn't give the clothes back and the security just saying we can pull the camera to proof the clothes is not yours. She got insulted in front of all the customers in the store and left the store crying, but no one in Zara could care less. When she brought back her receipt after waiting in line for 30min, the supervisor, EDUARDO, apologized ONLY for not being aware of the situation. They even questioned her why she didn't notice the security tag on the clothes on the boxing day. EDUARDO said "it's common for the security tag to be left on the clothes after the transaction and there's nothing wrong with it". EDUARDO also refused to provide the names of the manager and the security. When asked for an apology from the manager, EDUARDO told my sister it's unnecessary and the manager was off work. The manager was still working when my brother and I went back to the store 30min later, trying to ask for an apology from the manager. The manager and the security simply just walked away from us, refused any contact. EDUARDO sent us away with the customer service email. Zara makes good clothes, but it doesn't justify the insulting manner. Very disappointed in the incident. We have filed a complaint to their customer service without any reply and now planning to send a complaint to BBB. If you want to be insulted, Zara at Metrotown would be your go to place. read more

Extremely rude manager. My wife was trying to exchange a gift that our daughter got at a Christmas party, and got almost explicitly accused of shoplifting! By the store manager! It almost felt racist (as my wife is Asian). And that is happening in Vancouver! In Canada! Where do you go when the store manager is rude and acts in a racist manner? To court? How does this company allow this store to operate this way, when its Yelp score is below 2 stars, and the Google reviews rate it below 3? I realized that you can't have just one winter coat, and I was looking for another one to keep my current winter coat company during the summer months. My buddy and I decided to hit up the mall here in Vancouver, and we were pleasantly surprised to find stuff at Zara on Boxer Day sale. I looked through their selection, and actually found many items that I liked. I am super picky with my clothing, and I can say that Zara usually has a lot of stuff I like. This store was no exception to that. The downside to this experience was how packed it was. But that is not the store's fault, so I'm not docking any stars for that. I was split between two coats, the white coat with black lining, and the grey coat. Well, I decided on corporate grey, as my professional wardrobe is only growing and growing. The coat is long, and appropriate for both California and Vancouver winters. The staff was super busy but helpful. The wait in line was somewhat long, but there were about a dozen people ahead of me in line when it came time to check out. I'm glad to have nabbed a deal while visiting Canada. I think it's a job requirement yo be unfriendly, rude and not smile. I love the cheap clothes they sell, but going there and having to see these unhappy looking people makes me NOT want to go in. Today I returned three items I purchased. The cashier called the return employee to come to the front. I didn't notice this employee, only someone standing to my right in my space pushy and doing other things. Until she asked me for my debt card did it dawn on me that she was an employee. Then it took three people including her to pull the tag, put the sensor back on the clothing etc....no wonder all the other Yelpers talk about unorganization and slowness of everything. Really? This is my first review and it is for ZARA, a store that I had never heard of before now. You see...I am a smalltown Saskatchewan transplant, used to the musty stink of fourth rate clothing options. You won't find any puppy or kitty sweatshirts in ZARA nor will you find a clerk the size of a barge, floating towards you with cheese powder covered teeth...smelling like cigarette smoke and neglect...not at ZARA. ZARA is a revelation people! Clothes that have style! Clothes that look like they've come off the runways! Mens clothing that actually stands out from the rest! WOW! Leather jackets with faux fur trimming! Coats that have class! Lots of blacks, and grays, and browns...amazing! The shoes are great! I have been in that store three times this week, I can't get enough....ZARA! ZARA! ZARA! The MOST EXCITING clothing for men I have seen so far in the city.... A consistent problem I've seen in many Zara stores is that their sale associates don't smile or greet customers. They almost have a snobby attitude. I have been a loyal customer to Zara for many years now, and until recently, I have always been satisfied with the service that I have received and the products that I have purchased, however, I will be terminating my long term relationship as a loyal customer to Zara after the recent experience I have just gone through. I was recently in the U.S. on a family vacation, and purchased a pair of Pants from Zara. The weather in Arizona in August is often over 30 degrees celcius, so I had no need to wear them, however as I had bought pants from Zara on many occasions, I wasn't too concerned about wearing them until I got back home to Vancouver, Canada. When I returned home, I went to put on my new pants, and they fully ripped at the seam. They weren't the wrong size, I had simply gone to put them on and they fully ripped. Obviously I was shocked, and somewhat disappointed, as I had spent US $55 (approximately CAD$67) on these pants, and have come to expect a certain level of quality from Zara. However, as I had not worn them, and they were well within the valid return date, I thought I could simply return them and get refunded. What I expected to be a simple return quickly escalated. I went into the Zara close to my house, where I have spent hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars over the past few years. They informed me that since I had purchased the Pants in the U.S. I couldn't return them in Canada, but I could call customer support to see if there was anything that could be done. Frustrated, but somewhat understanding, I called customer support. I was kept on the phone for a very long time, being transferred from person to person, and eventually I spoke to a woman who told me they would take my case into account, gave me a number to confirm my case, and told me I would have to wait up to 3 days to hear back on my request. 5 days later, I finally received an email with a confirmation of my case, I call Zara, once again wait on the phone for a fair bit, and am told that there is nothing that they can do, and if I want to return the pants, I would have to do so in the U.S. Obviously, telling me to do so is a ridiculous solution. Me driving down/ taking a bus to the U.S (the closest store being probably in Seattle) would take up time, as well as cost well over the amount that the jeans were initially worth. I bought a product, the product was poorly made, and instead of accepting the fault and dealing with it professionally and responsibly, Zara managed to avoid dealing with any responsibility that they owed to their customer. I have spoken to friends and found out I am not the only one who has had problems with customer service, as well as the quality of Zara clothing in the past. You would expect a transnational brand like Zara, with worldwide recognition, that fully takes advantage of being able to sell on, and profit off of international markets, to be better equipped to deal with returns in different countries. The brand is in fact Spanish, but nobody is expected to fly to Spain when they need to return an item of clothing. If they can sell clothes throughout the world, they should be better equipped to handle situations like these, which have no doubt happened to many others as well. Zara is a multibillion, transnational corporation. What it would cost them to replace the damaged product I purchased from them would not even make a dent in the profits the company makes. The CEO himself is worth US$ 85 billion, I don't see how the return of a product which I spent US$55 on would be harmful to a man and company who I have come to find out not only relies upon the exploitation of sweatshop workers, but is known to steal designs from Artists, and profit off these designs without paying said Artists. I have been very disappointed with my recent experience, not just due to the lack of quality in the product I have purchased, as well as my personal experience with their poor customer service, but because it has shed light on Zara which has shown me it is nothing more than a greedy company, that doesn't respect their product, employees, or customers. It is a greedy, profit driven company that lacks morals and values. I will be terminating my long-standing, once good relationship with Zara and encourage my friends and family, as well as anyone else who reads this, to do the same. read more

Terrible Manager unable to resolve issue. Products purchased online and unable to exchange with original receipt. She was requesting a gift receipt as it was a gift from my sister. My sister did not get a receipt only original receipt and that was not good enough. Amongst the piles of disorganized women's clothes strewn about, I managed to find a coat I liked. It was missing the faux-fur collar that is supposed to come with it. I asked one customer rep if any other stores had one; she told me to go to the Robson location as that location had one left. I then asked the front if they could discount the coat as it's missing the collar. The rep said that they don't do any adjustments on defective items (ridiculous), and told me to go to the Park Royal location as they were the only store with 1 left (contradicting the previous rep). She said they may be able to find the collar at the end of the day. When I asked her to take down my number, she said I would have to come in again within 24 hours to see if they had found it, then said "To be honest with you, we won't look." What?!?! So not only are you not willing to discount the item, you want me to come back to see if you bothered to look for the missing piece, and you also gave me wrong stocking information? Everyone complains about the customer service here for a reason. It's terrible. Every time I come here the store looks like a hurricane blew through it and the lineups are way too long. When I went there were only two registers open and at least four other staff just standing around at the checkout. Not to mention, I just discovered that Zara uses sweatshop labour in Turkey where they exploit refugees. A 2016 BBC investigation found Syrian refugees working 12-hour days distressing and bleaching jeans and using hazardous chemicals, most of them without face masks. With all of the other stores in Metrotown, I'll think twice about coming here, where the manufacturing, labour and customer service conditions and policies are unethical. read more

I only gave 1 because I couldn't give no stars. They have a horrible policy. I bought a Xmas gift in November for my daughter and it didn't fit her. I tried to exchange it after the 30 day policy (because Xmas fell after 30 days of purchase). I had original receipt, tags still on garment and paid regular price for product and they wouldn't even exchange due to being over 30 days. That is horrible customer service. Very messy but the #1 thing that always annoys me are the change rooms. I wait by the entrance to them and not a worker in sight. I always ask myself if I should just go in or if i'm supposed to wait. But then i'm faced with an even bigger problem. Bad lighting. Yup, You've heard me. Aren't you supposed to judge if the pants you might buy fit right in change rooms? Then tell me why they are so damn dark. The lights are set so dim that I have to use my flashlight to see if the pants fit my legs properly!
