We were called the morning of our scheduled appointment and were told some jet skis were broken down and they needed to cancel on us. They offered two times (one was in a half hour and totally unreasonable), and the other was later that day, but we were going home by then. We were offered a refund that 10 days later I still have not received, so I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. Definitely would not recommend. read more

To make a long story short. We reserved on Wednesday. When we showed up on Thursday the young lady who took our reservation noticed it had been erased and overwritten by the owner. She remembered it being there at the end of Tuesday. You could easily see our reservation under what the owner had written. All other reservations were in pencil. Our reservation for 2 was replaced by 2 reservations equaling 5, both written in pen by the owner. Was it an honest mistake, I don't know. What I do know is that no effort was made to make this right. And when as a disappointed customer I became upset, instead of trying to make the situation right the owner became belligerent. To sum it up. We were canceled, no one called us and the owner was rude. We are reasonable people. If we had been called and told they needed to reschedule us, that would have been fine. But to get up and drive to them and be treated like this is inexcusable. When we left my wife and I both felt bad for the girl working there. We had a strong feeling she was in trouble for not keeping quiet. read more

I've never before written a negative review but my experience with Old Orchard Beach Parasail & Jet Ski left me no other choice. The under 20-somethings that "greeted" us upon our arrival could not find our reservation and tried to rebook us for a later flight. Once I asked to speak with an adult who could help us, he was able to find our reservation and we were on our way. Our experience on the boat and with the boat crew was fantastic. We were so impressed that we bought the premium flight and photo package for two. The flight also turned out great but when we arrived back to pay the under 20-somethings things quickly turned sour again. The two young girls refused to honor the coupons on the oobparasail.com website and were rude beyond belief. They proceeded to overcharge me and then refused to re-run the correct amount saying "it was too late and you have to pay it." When they got argumentative and would not cancel the transaction and re-run it with the right amount, I had to ask for a manager again. As expected, the manager saw the error, honored the coupon and charged me the right amount. I don't think it's too much to ask to not have to deal with that kind of hassle - especially when there are other parasail companies in Maine. As a Mainer, myself, it troubles me to give such a poor review to an in-state business. I certainly hope that going forward they hire staff that are courteous, competent and considerate of customers who pay good money for what they hope would turn out to be an enjoyable experience. read more

We saw the boat go by us when we were on the beach and my 16 year old said, "We should do that!" I read the Yelp reviews and all the complaints/negative reviews were about how the money was handled onshore. However, our experience was very good. Their website had the prices for the ride and the options for photographs or a GoPro movie. The staff onshore was efficient and stuck exactly to the web prices. As for the boat- it was a terrific experience all around. There were three groups of two and my daughter and I went up first. The two person crew was fun, friendly and very competent. We were buckled in and stood on the back of the boat. As the sail filled, we were lifted up and we were flying! It was a long ride and we went up 500 feet with great views of the Old Orchard Beach. We had them take pictures of us ($30 extra) and we were glad they did. They got great shots and handed us a SD card with all 78 shots on them. All in all, this place was totally professional, very safe and we had lots of fun. read more

If I could give one star I would. Horrible experience guide told us to meet in one area, so we did. As we stopped next to each other the choppy waves forced to light tap which caused a slight scratch on the back of ANOTHER customers ski do. Waiver states responsibility to riders wave runner not someone else's. So a long story short, the tiny scratch cost me an extra 200 dollars for a grand total of $300 for only an hour, which they cut short. There are much better places a little more expensive but you get more time and much better guides. Don't waste your money! read more

This was an amazing experience. We parasailed with 3 adults- two of which were extremely apprehensive. Jared was a great captain, making sure the ride was smooth and that we felt comfortable since it was our first time. Jamie was a great deck hand- he was patient while we "suited" up and made sure our harnesses were in the perfect position so that we were comfortable during our sail. All of us were instantly at ease while we rose into the air, never felt scared at all. The landing was smooth and we even got to dip our toes in the water for a second without getting soaked. I highly recommend this experience- the members of our party that were initially scared were happy that they gave it a chance and didn't miss out on this amazing experience! read more

As a parent- make sure you are clear you want to go on the boat with your kids even though you are not going on the parasail. We were told "observers" are first come first serve after there wasn't enough room for even just one parent to escort my kids. We were not told on the phone that we were booked with other people. We were not told observers were first come first serve. The girls at the desk just kept repeating legally only 6 people on boat. I said I understood but they may want to be more clear on the phone the procedures. Had I known observers were first come first serve I would have gotten here 1 hour early to assure my kids weren't riding alone on the boat. I also want to say thanks to the db dad who still insisted on observing even though his wife was riding along with their child. A nice person would have given up their seat so a parent could ride with their kids. $300 plus dollars and essentially got the shaft. What a joke. read more
