What a cute little ice cream stand! I stumbled across the school bus while walking down the street. They have a decently sized outdoor eating area and there is street parking right out front (not free until 8pm). They also make milkshakes and shaved iced. The employees were friendly and quick. Customers are only allowed 1 free sample so choose wisely! I like that they offer a sugar free option. I went with a kid size chocolate peanut butter scoop. It tasted very fresh and home made.

Black cherry and butter pecan were 10/10. Creamy flavorful. Very nice ice cream. Price was as expected. Busy place when it's hot out. Has some picnic benches to eat at as well. Can ask for a sample before buying.

Delicious ice creams ! We tried bear claw which was yummy and reasonable rates . Check hours before going as was closed on weekday. Near an egg roll truck which also looked interesting.

an adorable family-owned business, such polite service and i LOVED my icecream! Even though it was one scoop, the serving was plenty. I highly recommend coming by here and getting the Black Raspberry Bugaboo!!

Heads up, they're only open during the summers. Would recommend keeping up with them on Facebook because that's how they announce when they're coming "out of hibernation", where they'll be, when they can only take cash, when they're closed because of weather or private events, and all the other general updates. Also, if you're planning to park in the immediate area, this part of 9th street is $3 per hour from 8 AM to 8 PM during peak season. Also, a thing to note is that their patio area is pretty open to the elements. There are one or two umbrellas on the table(s) but, during the summer there is little to no shade besides those thanks to the angle of the sun. So during the time when the sunlight is REALLY beating down or when it's raining, people are going to stake their claim on what little there is. If you really want someplace to sit down and enjoy your treats while the patio space is too crowded, go back to the other side of the block where the park is. Or at least, they have benches and trees where out around the Canmore Museum. Old School Bus Ice Cream really does SUPER tasty ice cream while being one/two streets over from Canmore's main street. They also do floats, milkshakes, shaved ice, and canned drinks/soda from what I was told was a local Canmore company (The Grizzly Paw). Super integrated with the local community. They have pamphlets and stuff for new local restaurants and participate in money-raising for charities. So if you're looking for something new to do or visit, drop by to see if they're advertising anything (almost like a bulletin). Overall, if we visit again, this is definitely our list. And I definitely want a cone and MORE scoops next time lol. I had admittedly tried their green tea because I was wondering/testing what kind of flavor it would have, and it was wonderful. Wonderful enough that this is a must-return-to spot in order to try even more flavors!

Super fun ice cream stop! They had so many flavors and also let you try flavors. Really fast turnaround time. Takes card or cash. I loved that they had different sizes of ice cream. The kiddo size was perfect for us, and only $2.50 CAD. Nice outdoor seating. Definitely stop by if you're in the area!

What a fantastic use of an old school bus! Repurposing at its best. Loved how many flavors there were to choose from, perfect for a hot day. Ice cream was good although I think I was more excited about the bus then the actual ice cream. Definitely a unique experience.

Here are our FIVE star FAPS: Food (F): School's out! Summer's here! Old School Bus Ice Cream is your go to summer ice cream treat! We tried five flavors in two days- Cherry Cheesecake (special), Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, Bear Claw, and Cookie Monster! All we delicious , but our top three included Cookie Monster, Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup, and Bear Claw! The price for ice cream was unbelievably cheap for their portion size and flavor in comparison to ice cream from Hawaii and Los Angeles! Best ice cream in Canmore, especially since they are open later than 8 PM! Ambience (A): Love the concept of the ice cream shop being a bus! Lots of family and friends getting ice cream, but not a lot of seating options. Have to be lucky to snag a seat! Parking (P): Free on street if after 8 PM! If not, follow the QR code on parking meters to pay for parking! Service (S): Friendly and Quick service! Overall, a MUST go to place for ice cream in Canmore! Would recommend!

Ice cream joint serving ice cream out of an old school bus! The ice cream was delicious, vibes were great, and prices were very reasonable. We went back at least 4 times when we were staying in Canmore. The wacky watermelon flavor was my absolute favorite!

Old School Bus Ice Cream has been around for 18 years, so they must be doing something right. Located on a side street in Canamore, it's clear that it's uniqueness make it a Canamore staple. It's a former school bus turned into a hippie / ice cream mobile. I ordered the Maple Walnut in order to taste the Caniadneness in each bite. The ice cream was really good. Highly recommended

Really cool spot with a wide selection of ice cream flavors. We visited twice during our visit to Canmore and you can tell they get a lot of traffic. They also have shaved ice but we only tried the ice cream. There's a few tables if you wanna sit. Their hours are pretty good, open from 11 am to 10 pm so if you have a late sweet craving this is a good choice.

Delish, creamy, tasty expresso chip and maple walnut ice cream. Best part was the 18 year ice cream business is located in a converted school bus. So cool.

I initially wasn't interested in waiting in a long line for ice cream. But later decided to check them out at the end of my trip to satisfy my curiosity. Plus it was a warm day and I had already finished all of my shopping. Cows is located in the heart of Downtown Banff and is known for their hand-made premium ice cream. Cows has a variety of flavors with fun creative names like the Gooey Mooey, Cownadien Maple and Wowie Cowie. The people in line were really excited to be experiencing this place. I also noticed Cows has a large gift shop area that sells cow-themed merchandise and apparel. There was a lot of cool stuff to check out in the store. I grabbed my coffee flavored Caramel Moocchiato ice cream and one of their snack items and spent time in the gift shop. Overall, Cows was a fun experience and I am glad a was able to squeeze this place in at the end of my trip.

My son was really looking forward to trying Cows and we rushed here in rainy weather... definitely no Canadian hospitality here...
