This shop has so many truly wonderful vintage things to choose from including crystal, china, and fabulous clothing from earlier times when REAL (fine cotton, silk, wool) fabric was used. Maggie, one of the proprietors, was really wonderful to work with. She helped all of us find the things we were looking for and wrapped them up beautifully. This place is a find!!!!! I'll ne back.

THE SETUP The thing that drew me into the deep recesses of displays and shelvings was the impressive collection of buttons. From cartoon characters to old electioneering campaigns from the last century, this store had quite the eclectic collection of buttons. OTHER ODDITIES From things that looked like severed heads to model cars, there was a lot of fun stuff. I've even found a cute plant for sale now and then. They have a whole section on scrap booking stuff, pottery, jewelry. The only thing I really dislike is the older lady that works there. She is so sour and looks at you with a frown at all times, I'm not sure if she's the owner or a worker bee, but either way, she is not good for business. Maybe be a little friendlier to the people coming into your shop to spend their money? I'm still leaving a good star rating because the selection itself in the store is nice (although some things are way too overpriced).

Trolley Stop Antiques is the real deal. The owner has a fascinating shop in downtown Jacksonville, Oregon that is guaranteed to occupy someone looking for a treasure for at least two hours. The marvelous nooks and crannies are filled with all kinds of interesting and high-quality antiques from delicate demitasse sterling silver spoons to Southwestern turquoise jewelry -- and lots of other goodies. We found a stunning heavy silver and turquoise cuff for my husband and a classic Navajo squash blossom for me. I've also found a number of gorgeous sterling serving pieces for my electic collection. You can never have too many serving spoons! She has a glorious selection of Asian antiques as well in the far back showroom. The prices are fair for what you get. Another thing I really appreciate is the broad and deep knowlege base of the owner. She will readily answer any questions you might have -- and she knows her stuff! While primarily an online sales warehouse, they have a remarkable collection of deadly and beautiful insects embedded in resin, cult artifacts, medical instruments and artifacts and oddities such as two-headed chicks...if you're into this sort of thing you'll understand. But wait, there's more! They charge a $5 admission, fee (refundable with purchase) so you can shop and take in the small museum. If you've ever wanted to preview burial you can even take a mercifully short coffin ride. This place is a really interesting stop.

David and Stephanie greeted us with a welcoming and informative tour of the facility. They've accumulated a vast and diverse collection of things that go bump in the night ranging from; but not limited to: taxidermy, Post Mortem & embalming, ritual artifacts and literature, and decorative embellishments. Perhaps my favorite article of the experience was a beautifully vinyl bound gilded hardcover edition of an actual transcription of the Egyptian "Book of the Dead" made Hollywood famous in the 1999 moving picture "The Mummy" starring Brenden Fraser and Rachel Weisz. This is a real ancient Egyptian document that was written on papyrus scrolls and hieroglyphic golden plates that contained spells and instruction on guiding souls to the afterlife through process of mummification and the protocols required by the demands of the ancient Gods, Horus, Anubis and Osiris. I've found many books containing author renditions of personal interpretation on this book but never one that relayed the exact description of each illustration and proper translation of context. A rather exceptional piece they have obtained that is available for purchase in their store and online. I was not only impressed by their display and decor so much as i was also surprised to see their strong social media presence and structure. They have multiple multimedia stations set up for their marketing platform containing illuminated product photo booth studio as well as a livestream and video recording station for a more interactive and visual approach for online conversions. As a business owner and expert in marketing, I can appreciate the effort, attentiveness and care it takes to fulfill this level of ambition. The overall take-away is that they managed to take a regular steel framed aluminum warehouse and created a masterful business structure in the guise of an immersive experience in to the dark side of the world and beyond.
