Yesterday I found two treasures at this charming antique and collectibles shop on the main street in Jacksonville. I wanted to stay longer but I had an appointment so I had to leave. This shop has so many truly wonderful vintage things to choose from including crystal, china, and fabulous clothing from earlier times when REAL (fine cotton, silk, wool) fabric was used. Maggie, one of the proprietors, was really wonderful to work with. She helped all of us find the things we were looking for and wrapped them up beautifully. This place is a find!!!!! Buttons! SITREP Cute little antique shop with a lot of odd knick-knacks and eccentic items for the collector! THE SETUP The thing that drew me into the deep recesses of displays and shelvings was the impressive collection of buttons. From cartoon characters to old electioneering campaigns from the last century, this store had quite the eclectic collection of buttons. OTHER ODDITIES From things that looked like severed heads to model cars, there was a lot of fun stuff. My partner-in-crime and I on this trip found some accessorized bracelets that were pretty fun to give to friends. THE LOWDOWN A great little stop in Jacksonville. read more

What drew me to this store were the vintage Fiestaware and other bright glass pieces in the window. It is hard to tell when some of these pieces are made; some of these companies have been around a long time. The owner knows a lot about Fiestaware and answered many of my questions. Everything in the store was reasonably priced, and there was such a variety of things to look at and buy. The owner told me she also has a store in Niles, California and spends time at both stores. I had so much fun browsing in this store. Several things kept calling to me to buy them and worry later where I would store them. A vintage blue water pitcher, a red Fiestaware egg plate and a vintage art glass egg plate kept asking me to take them off the shelve and take them home. Finally the vintage art glass egg plate was the most insistent and I bought it. When it came in to the house I asked the plate where I should put it, the plate did not give me a clue where it wanted to to go. Looks like you moved, and are now on California Street. It's a very nice store with very friendly people. They helped me to find what I was looking for, and I was extremely pleased with my purchase. Tonya really wrapped up my teapot and cups so I didn't have to worry about them getting broken on the way home. All in all it was a very pleasant experience. read more

SO CUTE! I found some AMAZING deals today at Pickety Place! I made off with a vintage pair of Foster Grant sunglasses, a vintage handmade dress, an ivory elephant charm and chain and a skeleton key for 40 bucks! The owners are so sweet, and they carry some fantastic items. We had so much fun just searching the store looking for treasures! read more
