This is a great Links course with a lot of variety, but you need to have local knowledge in order not to end OB. I was disappointed in the watering this year. There's a lot of spots where you end up needing to move your ball because ground is always under repair. The greens are in good shape, but need more watering to stay consistent. Not beginner friendly - got kicked off the course after 2 shots on the first hole. I played the course with my cousin this morning. He's played the par 3 a number of times and hit the driving range as well, so was excited to play his first 9 holes. We lined up on the first tee, and the starter came over to talk to us. He appeared friendly and was excited by my cousin's old wooden clubs. He said he was looking forward to hearing the sound it makes when he hits it. He talked to us for a good 5 minutes, saying to enjoy the course and it was pretty open. He implied there wasn't much rush (especially with how chatty he was). We both teed off and my cousin hit his first shot into the tree, but it popped out in the middle of the fairway. The second shot also hit a tree. We weren't delaying and walking right to our next shot - normal play. Before my cousin could take his third shot, he heard the starter charging towards him. He yelled at him that he could tell he was a beginner and was playing super slowly. He told him he had to pick up his ball and move to the next hole and play way faster or leave and go back to the par 3. I offered to let the group behind us play through to try and be accommodating, but the starter didn't allow that. When I booked the tee time at 9pm the night before, just about every tee time was still available and we didn't see other out on the course, it wasn't busy. While we weren't playing speed golf, we had spent less than 10 minutes on the home before being approached to hurry it up. We agreed to leave and I told the starter I had never been rushed on a course after 2 shots. It was incredibly disappointing that he couldn't be more accommodating of a beginner trying to play his first nine holes when the course wasn't busy. He could have helped someone take to the game of golf, but instead he insulted him for trying to learn. I felt horrible as my cousin kept apologizing for being slow and getting us kicked off the course, but it clearly wasn't his fault. I'm assuming the low ratings are from people who don't want others playing here and crowding it up because the staff is great and the course is great. Or maybe some people think they can do whatever they want and not get called on it. Don't know. But I've seen excellent players and first timers and everyone is welcome. So if you have a problem here...it's probably you. read more

This course sucks. Starter(s) are rude. Emulating the experience from the guy that got kicked out with his cousin bc they were "slow" and regulars wanted faster play. Shoulda just let them play through. Nobody owns the course except course owners themselves. Regulars should not get special treatment, maybe only members should. read more

Cannot recommend this course, not beginner friendly, rude aggressive starter! How are we going to grow the game with places like this.

Buyer beware. This coarse is nothing but money. Went to play with two regulars and another guy I had only played with one time. This man was a smoker and a real potty mouth so I requested a cart by myself since the regulars had a private cart. Come to find out that they charge an extra $7.50 to take a cart by myself. Having medical issues I find it unexcusable to be forced into a extra fee to ride a cart as a single rider. JUST BEWARE when playing coarse in Loveland,Colorado. Chuck D. read more

This course did not meet expectations and the customer service left a lot to be desired.

If you can guarantee a perfect game then this is the place for you. If not, then stay away. You'll get kicked off the course for a bad shot.

I've never written a review for a golf course, this is a first. Went out as a single at 8:50AM on a busy Wednesday morning. You sometimes hear the saying, "singles have no rights on the golf course." That wasn't the case here. Everyone had exceptional etiquette. Every group let me play through them immediately without any wait. I think I played through 10 4-somes until 16. I played 18 holes in under 2hrs, 45 minutes. Awesome experience. I was expecting a mediocre golf course. Although it's short at altitude, the condition is very good and you still have to hit good golf shots. I highly recommend this course for all skill levels. The course was in fantastic condition, the food was great, cart service was on point. Today, was cart path only and our group was walking. The course was packed and we were consistently be hounded about picking up our pace. It was ridiculous! By no means was our group slow. The only way to pick up our pace was to run with our bags. The group we were with was telling us they always hound groups to pick it up. I will not be playing golf there anymore. Sad, it's a nice course. read more

No rules for etiquette. Cut off shirts, gym shorts, talking while taking swings. Then when you bring it up to course staff they say we don't enforce anything here, it's a public course. But clear discrimination against my husband. Won't be coming back. read more

The olde course at Loveland has been around for 60 years. Hole 10 had a mighty oak tree sitting in front about 30 yards from center of the green. Last year it was damaged and removed. (The hole 10 now has a monument where this 70 foot tree stood (had to hit around or through the tree to approach this green. ) Today we played in wonderful westher‍, was 57 F to start at 7 am but quickly warmed up to 80F. Only 2 hole were cart path only doe to rain water. Overall a wonderful golf course and so friendly. read more

I think it is so stupid they charge for a rider when your a single and your already playing with a cart. We went out as three golfers and my wife was just riding and they charged for that. I think it's total BS. I'll go play Longmont courses where they do not charge for riders. read more

Beautiful course but our experience has been marred more than once by rude and unhelpful staff. Truly a bummer.

The Pro shop and Bar are mediocre. Nothing to brag about there. But the course itself was Beautiful. The greens offer a good challenge and are kept up quit nicely. The fairways are quit sizable with a few water hazards. There is one island green as well. I would have paid quit a bit more to play this course then I did. Will definitely play here again. read more

The Pro Shop may be misleading when you first come to this course but do not be mistaken, it is a hidden gem. Inside the shop there isn't much and the bar/grill is fairly standard, nothing special. Then you make your way out to the course and everything changes. The price you pay for the quality of the course provided is among the best in the state. The course is extremely unique and challenging, but not the rip your hair out kinda stuff. Pace of play is fine and if you show up early enough you can probably get through 18 in 3 1/2 hours. If you find yourself up in the Loveland area, skip Marianna Butte you'll be happier at The Olde Course read more
