We drove past the Olde Towne Pancake House a number of times and decided an early Valentine Day breakfast was the perfect time. We arrived early and parking was tight. We parked at cookout across the str7as they don't open up till later. My spouse had coffee and ice water with lemon and I wanted to warm up with a hot chocolate with whipped cream and a small OJ. I ordered two crepe-like chocolate chip stuffed with strawberries and topped with whipped cream and powered sugar. It was delicious, two was the right amount of food. I had a side order of bacon (3 slices). My spouse had the meat lovers breakfast with sausage, bacon, country ham, two eggs, wheat toast and a side order of hash brown casserole. Spouse will get the smoked ham next time as country ham is too salty. Waitress was friendly and provided excellent service. Very comfortable and homey atmosphere. I will definitely return. read more

We have heard about this particular pancake house for a while now. Decided it was worth the hour drive there to check it out. Sadly disappointed. The biscuits and gravy were subpar. The pancakes were dry. I would expect them to be light and fluffy. I asked for very crispy hash browns and they were definitely not. The waitress wasn't concerned with our table in the least. She took our order brought our drinks and food and that's it. We were right outside the kitchen yet I had to go to the front to the counter to get our ticket, pay it and get a togo box. Such a cute little restaurant, in an old house. We were in the back room, that was just big enough for 3 tables. We started with one of the daily specials, a mini apple cinnamon biscuit. It was super yummy. As a hot tea drinker, I was happy to see a variety to choose from. The Apple stack pancakes were very good, and had the apples between each layer, not just on top. Syrup on the side was hot. Did my Granny make this gravy? Could have fooled me. Hash browns were ok. And the bacon was very flavorful. Our server, Ashley, was very prompt, and sweet. The little restaurant was packed on a Thursday morning so we knew it must be good! We weren't disappointed. My wife and I love pumpkin spice pans led and weren't disappointed! I gave this place a two because the server and hostess was friendly. I waited a long time for a server to come to my table, although the hostess sat me fairly quickly. I did have to wait to be seated and I was there around 12:30 on Saturday. Once my server came and asked for my order it took about 10 minutes to get my drink. She actually came back to my table to ask what drink I wanted because she forgot. I was excited about them service breakfast all day but it took about 25 minutes to get my order. I ordered the "special" of 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, hash browns and it came with sausage. My pancakes were cold...not even lukewarm-cold. Actually everything on my plate was slightly warm but nothing was hot. It was pretty disappointing. The food was okay, though lukewarm (and cold pancakes). There was so much grease on the hash browns I had to wipe it off with my napkin. I mean seriously I've never seen so much grease. It looked like someone poured olive oil on them after they set them on the plate. I overheard the two girls talking behind me about how the place has new owners and they used to give crackers but now they don't-and there used to be a better ranch dressing. I'm from out of town and I love a diner as much as the next person. I also love supporting local businesses but next time I'll probably try Waffle House or another place with a better rating. Are here long ago before I was vegan, but the ambiance is great--very small town family feel. The service is great and very friendly.

Food is excellent especially the pecan pancakes and the hash brown casserole. Service is always timely and friendly. Ambiance well when you pull up to this old house converted into a restaurant you say no way. Go in, yes the floors are slanted. The curtains in the bathroom need to be replaced but is a great place to eat! Try it! read more

This place was filled with promise and we really wanted to like this little place. It is a nice place to sit. The service is ordinary and the menu is reasonable so long as you like southern fare. Fortunately we do. But, it was sort of ordinary and when you go out for coffee and brunch, ordinary doesn't cut it. The coffee was not very good, the eggs, grits, bacon and veggies were nothing to be excited about. But, I think we will return to give it a second chance.
