The rooftop seating was the highlight -- beautiful views and a really nice atmosphere sitting outside overlooking the water. We ordered the steak frites to share. The steak itself was very good -- cooked perfectly and full of flavor. However, the presentation was very underwhelming. It was served as just a piece of steak on a plastic plate with no real plating or sides. Our fries were also removed as a side from our meal, thinking there was a miscommunication there with the kitchen. We also asked for an extra plate and silverware to share, and were given a paper plate and plastic utensils, which made it difficult to eat a steak comfortably and felt inconsistent with the expected level of dining. Just odd! Our server mentioned he was new, which we appreciated, and he did refill drinks and check in a few times. Overall, though, the service felt a bit flat and not especially engaging. At the end, the bill was around $75 for the steak frites plus a service charge, which we hadn't seen elsewhere in town. Between the pricing, service, and presentation, the experience didn't quite match expectations. Overall, the rooftop and steak were enjoyable, but the experience felt inconsistent.

They had just started serving dinner to the tables and our waitress Ruby was very attentive and helpful. You no longer have to go up to bar and place your order & then wait & pick it up. The cheese curds were some of the best we have had. Fish & chips was good/ one order was enough for 2. They had a good selection of beers & drinks. After a 3 hour boat ride it was just what we needed.

Considering our hosts must have been tired after such a weekend invasion, they were wonderfully welcoming and accommodating. They were also non-intrusive and left us to come and go as we pleased. Our suite was delightful and comfortable. Breakfast was left on a tray outside our door by 7:30 each morning and it was delicious. Bayfield is an interesting, artsy town on the Lake Superior shore. The guest house is just a block or two away from the shops and harbor, albeit up a hill. Walking is completely doable if you are of average physical health. The only drawback is minor (to me), but was major to my husband, a Green Bay Packer fan. The guest house, and apparently much of Bayfield, subscribes to Minnesota-based cable TV. It didn't have much to offer, especially the Packer football game. Instead we and hundreds of others packed into the Creamery, a downtown tavern that apparently was the only venue carrying the game. All in all, a beautiful place to stay. Hope to come back again!

The bathroom door was spattered with something brown. The wallpaper, bathroom fixtures were very out of date (1980's?). The mattress has definitely seen better days, not replaced in recent history; it was very uncomfortable. Only 2 flat pillows in room. The sofa also was old and uncomfortable. TV didn't have many channels. There was no shampoo/conditioner in bathroom. The continental breakfast was adequate, but with no table in room to eat on, we didn't partake of much of it. The only time we saw or heard from the innkeepers was at check in and check out. Oh, there was a typed note asking how we intended to pay and if credit, schedule at time to meet the innkeeper in the living room downstairs. He never asked how our stay was. We have chosen to stay in B & B's many times, and have not seen the likes of this - ever. All in all, a very disappointing stay. We would recommend staying anywhere else.

I was worried that reserving a space in Bayfield Guest House for the same day would be too quick of a turnaround but they didn't act like it was a problem! Bayfield Guest House is a cute house that has 5 suites, all with different names -- we stayed at Eerie Suite. It's a woman-owned company & you can definitely tell because there are so many wonderful things that made this place from good to great! The sheets, robes & towels are all INCREDIBLY soft. I appreciated all the amenities like makeup wipes, bath salt for the tub, and a bottle opener/wine corkscrew, just to name a few. Easy instructions for entry (push the keypad fast. Too slow & it will time out), plenty of reading material provided to know what to do & where to eat in town, plus easy walking distance from restaurants & shops. An amazing, refreshing stay!

We were greeted by an elderly couple (super sweet) that could not figure out how to enter the building - after helping them in and getting into our room we got a knock from the same couple not able to get into their room. We helped them contact support to get their code for their room which they were unaware they needed to fill out the forms prior to receive a code since they booked through a third party. It all worked out however it was unfortunate that the rooms can be that confusing for what seemed to be a slower pace area that does attract people ranging into elderly. I think it would've been nice to have someone more on hand for occasions like these - just so everyone is comfortable and confident they can get in and out of the place. The amenities were as described - a bed, small fridge, tub, shower, toilet, sink.
