After living here since 1986, I lost my green card 4 years ago because I let my driver's license to expire. Immigration said I had to be deported. I lost everything. I lost my bakery business and could not work. My daughters could no longer receive scholarships and financial aid to university. I seriously thought about going back to my country, but my family was born and raised here. I spent a lot of money with another attorney who was unable to help me before being represented by Michael Mendez at Colombo & Hurd. He told me it was a very difficult case, but little by little started working on it. He and his staff called right away whenever they needed anything for immigration. They prepared me for going to court. And the case went much faster than I thought it would. Now I have my green card back. I got my work permit two months ago and I am working. My daughters also now have applied successfully for scholarships. I'm starting over, but I have a life again.

This is a high premium for very poor service, it's not a good experience. Don't fall for the ads on Instagram either...I would rate this very poor value for the dollars paid.

I paid a $300 consultation fee after reviewing the lawyer's background and being informed that the fee could potentially be applied toward future legal services. The consultation lasted about 25 minutes and focused on my situation and possible next steps. During the consultation, I was advised that additional services--such as document collection, document review, and further consultations--would involve separate fees. While I understand that legal services are billed this way, I personally felt uncertain about the overall cost structure moving forward. After the consultation, I attempted to follow up by email regarding next steps and requested a short extension of time to gather documents on my own. I did not receive a response. Over the following weeks, I sent additional follow-up emails, including one confirming I had gathered documents and was open to paying for further assistance if needed. I did not receive a reply to those messages. It has now been several weeks without communication. While others may have different experiences, I would have appreciated clearer follow-up or confirmation on whether my case would be accepted. I encourage others to ask detailed questions about fees, communication expectations, and next steps before proceeding.
