Meh... meals didn't arrive together. Staff was shorthanded. I ordered Eggplant Parmesan and 15 minutes later they indicated they were out. They substituted Chicken Parmesan and charged me for the incremental cost. Food was good. read more

We have been there 3 times this year so far. Each time we had issues. 2 put of the 3 times I talked to the manager this past time I did not. This used to be one of our favorite to go places. We used to go a lot more often. This past time was Saturday afternoon. We went to celebrate an early Father's Day. Ordered apps and drinks. Received our drinks and placed our orders. The table next to us just got there, server went to them to get there orders. Our salad and breads ticks came out, the table next got their apps. Our server came and I asked her about our apps and if we were going to get them with dinner to please cancel it. She went to the kitchen to ask the next thing you know a we are getting our apps. He said please watch the plate is hot, I was able to grab the plate it was barly warm. The table next to us received their dinners, my husband then made a comment that they were not the only ones to come in after us to have their dinners. We sat probably another 15 minutes before our dinners came out. The whole time we were there extra employees gathered at the entrance of the kitchen to talk and walked around like there was nothing to do. Meanwhile we had empty plates/drinks on our table that someone could have taken care of. Large party of us on a Friday night. Servers were really nice. All the food was good but the salads & soups took forever to come out. Brother ordered a chicken gnocchi & got skipped. Not a big deal. But then others got gnocchi refills before he got his soup. Then his daughter got a third bowl before he got his. The food came out pretty fast (soon after the soup). So it took about an hour before he got soup (after he finished entree)! Otherwise the servers were attentive & friendly. My chicken & broccoli was awesome, hot and cooked perfect. read more

My friend and I went to the Olive Garden in Elyria. My first clue to how the service sucked was my Coke zero tasted like carbonated salt water the second one was better but still lacked in taste. We ordered our food and we ended up having to ask for silver ware and napkins. I ended up talking with the manager and she offered free desserts. I was line no thanks. she didn't even offer a free meal at least. Don't go to the restaurant we went to go to the one in North Olmsted. It has better service. read more

What is happening to OG in Elyria? I've been ordering from them for years with only one issue. Tonight they just couldn't seem to get a kid's shells with Alfredo sauce correct. Ordered online, curbside pickup, brought home, surprise red sauce, grandkid doesn't eat read sauce, checked order, ordered Alfredo. That was strike #1! Called to advise them order was wrong, husband would come get Alfred sauce that was ordered. Strike #2 - they won't bring out, husband has to go in! Now frustration building, 4 yr old upset has no dinner, making second trip to get what originally ordered. Strike 3 - manager tries to act like we didn't order correctly when order ticket clearly states what we ordered, really where were you trained? But wait, there is more, when husband got home second time, OG had given him fettuccine with Alfredo, not shells. ??? Really, you just can't make this stuff up! I guess tonight kids shells with Alfredo was just too difficult to manage at OG in Elyria!!! Will seriously consider before choosing to order here again, not because of original mistake, they happen, but because manager's refusal to take responsibility for error and the fact she didn't double check order to make sure it was correct the second time. Management may not be where she should be without more customer service and quality control training!!! read more

Typical Olive Garden service and food. We arrived around 5 on Saturday and checked in on our phone. It said wait time would be 1 to 15 minutes. Ended up being more like a half hour. When we were seated their did seem to be tables open but the takeout orders might of been overwhelming the staff. The whole front entrance was filled with baskets and bags of to go orders. Kind of awkward to walk thru. We tried the taste of Italy and chicken parmigiana. Of course the salad and breadsticks is always great. I was surprised by the size of the kids meals as well. Most of the bad reviews were older but I was still a little hesitant. First of all it's an Olive Garden. The service was good and the waitress was very attentive. Unlike other restaurants they did not charge for club soda ( I do not drink pop) which was a pleasant surprise. I have been hanging on to my receipt since February because I wanted to make sure I sat down and wrote this interview when I had the time. I never have high expectations when eating at an Olive Garden, but this was one of the best customer service dining experiences I've EVER had. A friend and I went here for dinner before going to see a movie. We had planned to go to a different restaurant, but it had an hour wait, so OG was our backup. They were crazy busy, but gave us a pager and seated us as soon as they could. We were pretty tight on time at this point, which we told our waitress, Cindy -- and she did absolutely everything she could to get us out of there on time. We started off ordering drinks, which the manager herself grabbed from the bar and brought to us (since they were so busy she was clearly jumping in to help and she was so nice). The drinks were AMAZING. The perfect level of sweetness! Right after we got the drinks -- seriously, maybe 6 to 8 minutes after we ordered -- we both got our food AND it was great. So not only did it come out of the kitchen quickly, it tasted great. Cindy brought our check shortly afterward before we even thought to ask, and we were in and out of there and on time to the movie. Even though it was clearly a jam-packed, high-stress night, Cindy was polite and funny, made conversation with us, and provided excellent service. Seriously, we were absolutely blown away by this. Olive Garden is waay overpriced! I was hoping to find their food to "at least" look as appetizing as their commercials lead you to believe! Right off the bat, the waitress brought us bread that was NOT fresh & not even warm!! UGH! I immediately asked for fresh bread. We've always been a fan of Olive Garden. We are not from the area and have never been to this particular location before. We were there with our family of 4. The hostess and other staff were very friendly as we walked in. Our server Darien, was awesome. Extremely professional and nice. My husband even said, I think he is the best waiter we have ever had! Had a Christmas party here for work, the servers were so informative and helpful. They were on top of everything and answered every question we had excellently. The service here was so bad. My drink was never refilled, our server threw our dishes down in front of us and just left. My boyfriend had ants crawling around him. Then the server brought us our check and it wasn't even ours, it was another table. After I pointed this out to her, our server seemed very annoyed and acted like we were stupid for not using the little tablet to pay. The food was fine - nothing special but not bad. read more

My wife ordered the Tour of Italy (chicken parm, lasagna and fettuccine Alfredo) and the lasagna was disgusting. It had a thick, black, badly burnt crust on the bottom. When my wife pointed it out to the waitress, she knew it was bad and offered to replace it. My wife told her no, not if it's from the same pan. The waitress replied, "We have lots of lasagna...it'll be from a different pan." Eventually she brought out a large bowl of glop that was supposed to be fresh lasagna, but it tasted burnt and had no pasta on the bottom. When my wife informed the waitress it was the same stuff, they had just scooped off the top layer of the burnt lasagna, the waitress just smiled and said, "Sorry about that." No offer to bring something else or adjust the bill even though one third of the meal was not fit to eat. read more

My favorite "go to" place to eat. You know what to expect and food is always consistent (and good). Busy Friday and Saturday starting at 5. Usually they say a 45 minute wait but its almost always half of that and if you're waiting for a table you can drink for half the price at the bar! That makes up for the wait. The waittress started off being rude because we wouldn't try the wine they were pushing. Then the salad came late and skimpy. And she actually started to hand us the bill before even putting in our dinner order! When dinner finally arrived, my asparagus was so tough it could NOT be cut with a steak knife! Housing timbers maybe, food not. Then a lady, acting like the manager, came by and asked if everything was OK. Said "not" -- unusual. I really detest bothering to complain. She offered to get me more asparagus -- as if.... Then she said she'd remove the meal cost from the bill. We said that wasn't necessary and she said she'd do it anyway. Guess what? nada. AND the waittress overcharged us -- charging for a dessert we didn't get. Next time I'll forget these guys exist and go to the Subway -- at least it's consistent. read more
