I should start off with this disclaimer: I don't like massages. I know I often need one because I carry all kinds of pain in my stressed-out body, but it's impossible for me to find a massage that addresses them without some level of pain and discomfort. Olive Tree Spa is the closest I've found in this area. Having been to a few 'budget' spas, I noticed a few immediate differences with this spa. Here, the space is light and airy, with the remarkably calming smell of essential oils that hits as soon as you enter. The first floor is dedicated to a reception desk and foot massages, while massage beds are upstairs. My husband and I booked a couples massage, and they had a clever curtaining system that allowed them to turn a larger flex space into a more private one for us. There's also one private room for a single massage. The massage itself was, in a word, skillful. There was general symmetry between what was done between one side of my body and the other. I didn't love some aspects of her technique, particularly a pinching motion she used around my neck that left me a bit sore until the day after. But it was still better than most, and she used plenty of pressure to work out the various knots and points of tension in my back and legs. What I appreciated most of all was the quiet. Our masseuses worked side by side but didn't exchange any chatter (except to occasionally hand each other hot stones or towels), and there was barely any ambient noise except for the sound of the air conditioner in the background. It was all the peace and quiet one would have wanted from a massage session. There's been some contention about the tip policy in reviews left for this spot. I'll share that after we paid, the woman at the register gestured to a printed sign that had suggestions for how much tip should be left, depending on the length of session. For an hour-long session like ours, for instance, the recommended tip was $20 per person. After pointing to it, she also plainly said, "It's just a suggestion." We ended up paying the proposed amount, but I could see how some folks might not take kindly to such pressure. read more

Olive tree is immaculate and provides great service. I had the pampering package which included 60 min body and 30 min feet. My masseuse was wonderful. Went with the Groupon and didn't have any problems. They didn't try to upsell me or anything but also I bought the full body + head + foot massage so there wasn't really anything more to upsell me. The owner is korean and the masseuse are Chinese. Each masseuse does it different and each time is different. But overall, my friend and I both liked it a lot. I like my masseuse Jamie, she does a very nice massage but the "owner" - the man behind the register - who I've NEVER seen prior - price gauged me!! I requested a 120 minute BODY massage - (which IS $120!!!) so he would have gotten that amount out of me anyways!!!!! I walked in, and was told to sit down for my foot massage - confused I said to him, "NO...Im here for 120 minute body massage" that man informed me "oh yes 30 minutes here and then 90 upstairs" - oookkkkkk NOT what I booked but okay what ever - Then on my way upstairs for my body massage this man says "pick out an oil for massage" so I pick one, proceed upstairs, got a nice body massage including last 5 MINUTES hot stone massage (like I've always gotten in the past!!!) and when it's over, I look at my phone - because it felt fast - and realize it was ONLY 1 hour!!! So I go downstairs to pay and now im told I owe $127.95 - "how come so much" I ask - This guy proceeded to tell me - "$90 for massages AND $10 extra for oil and $30 extra for hot stones" I was LIVID!!!! I told him I didn't ASK for ANY of that!!! You TOLD me to pick out an oil before I went upstairs!!!! And I didn't get a stone massage it was the last 5 minutes LIKE ALL the times before!! Pissed!! So I paid and then tipped Jamie AND this guy took my tip out of her hand and went into his cash register and gave her more and said to me "I give to her this time next time you give her right tip" I was like "excuse me??" I have been thinking of coming to this spa for some time and finally booked an appointment. Booking was very easy and they have an array of services you can choose from. The spa was very clean and organized. I requested when booking for a 60 minute body massage with aromatherapy oils which cost $90, and once I got to the spa, they have you fill out a form where I once again requested a 60 minute body massage. However once I was on the massage bed, my masseuse said that I was there for a 90 minute massage. I told her I only requested 60 minutes but at that point and because I had no other plans afterwards, I told her the 90 minutes was fine. The massage was amazing and left me very relaxed. Unfortunately, as the massage finished up, I asked the masseuse if I would be meeting her downstairs or should I give her the tip then. She told me to give her the tip then and since I was not sure how much the 90 minute massage was (since that was not what I originally requested), I asked her and she told me "around $120" so I give her a $45 tip. She takes the money and says something of the sorts, "I guess this is fine". I was caught off guard and that really put a bad taste in my mouth. Nonetheless, the service it's self was good. The only reason they're not getting one star is because my wife enjoy the massage the reason for my review is they have what's called a recommended tip or suggested tip which is fine but when the tip equals to 30% of what you paid it does not make any sense your price gouging on a tip it cost $100 for a 90-minute massage I gave $25 tip to the person at the counter that still wasn't good enough I would rather you charge more for the service than to tell me my $25 tip is not good enough for service that cost $100. That doesn't make any sense I work for tips. The standard hospitality rate for massage tipping is 20 percent. So leme be casual here and tell y'all how bizarre and ludicrous my first/last visit here with my husband was. We did a couples massage, so when we lie down I thought I heard the masseur fart- 'am I imagining sounds?' It was SO quiet in there, you could hear everything. The masseurs come in male/female. There was so much rustling from the masseur that was with my husband, and he was breathing through his mouth THE ENTIRE TIME. As if he was sick. He left my husbands side more than 5 times to go blow his nose. HE FARTED NUMEROUS times during the massage!!!! Absolutely love Olive Tree Spa! Appointments are always easy to book. The staff is kind and attentive. They let you choose which massage oil you'd like. Facilities are always extremely clean (probably the cleanest I've been to). Great up and coming local spot! I phoned in a same-day appointment for my mom and me. We both opted for a full body massage with essential oils. The massage starts out with deep tissue for about 10 mins to get you relaxed, followed by slightly lighter massages with oil and hot stones. My masseuse, Joe, was really attentive and kind. He is a true master of the art! My mom had Daisy, who she also said was a magician and undid so many knots in her neck and lower back. You really get a bang for your buck here. For the two of us, the price was really good ($104 excluding tip, although I believe we had a promo price since they just opened). The ambiance is clean and refreshing, and all the staff practiced proper COVID-19 protocols to ensure everyone's safety. Whenever I'm in town next, I will surely book a massage here again. Mom and I went for a foot and back/shoulder massage today and wow - I feel like a new person. The masseuse listened to my pressure requests, checked in throughout, and did an amazing job. This was the most unpleasant, unprofessional and uncomfortable massage my husband and I have ever received. My masseuse asked me if I was okay to which I responded it was rough, and she said "at least you're not dying" and continued to be rough bc I "needed it". (This exchange happened multiple times, another time she chuckled "you're alive". It felt like she hated me.) There was a lot of side conversations between various employees the whole time in their native language, which we understood. The room was very cold and it was obvious because they made many comments to each other about how our hands and feet were cold. Yet, they would not turn on the heat. You could also hear other people getting their massages and all the traffic outside, so it doesn't feel private or relaxing at all. At the end of the massage, my husband's masseuse said we have nice skin to which my masseuse retorted with "I couldn't tell because their skin is so dry". She also started clapping at my husband to wake up so we could get dressed and leave. To top it all of, we were going to tip $50 to be nice and respectful since we are also Korean. We've been coming to Olive Spa for the past 3 years because our first and fourth experience were good, but will not be coming back because of the poor customer service. During the massage, I experienced two painful moments. My masseuse was doing a good job until he decided to use his elbows (pointed downwards) on the ride side of my spine. During this process, I verbally expressed pain but he continued pressing down and finished his movement. Once finished, he asked if I noticed how it opened out.. I felt very tense where he worked on and directly pointed out that it was pretty painful. He retorted on how I should try a deep tissue massage as if I didn't have experience getting a massage. He was, however, much more careful on the other side asking if pressure was ok and decided against using the same movement. This was until he decided to stretch my legs, where he literally yanked on of my legs open to the point it hurt again. Again, I pointed it out and he adjusted on the other side. The leg stretch wasn't too bad but I could feel my right shoulder aching. One hour later, I'm starting to feel an uncomfortable pain on my right shoulder and a sharper pain when removing my shirt. This was when I decided to call the place and to just let them know what happened. The male store owner picked up and told him I had a pain where this happened. He just said that it was normal to feel uncomfortable after a massage and to let us know if I felt the same after a week, pretty much dismissing my concern. When you're in the health and spa industry, customer service is a huge part of the business. This kind of treatment is unacceptable. 4 hours later there is still a dull pain on my right shoulder. Really thought we found a decent massage place but it's been too inconsistent and the first time I brought up a concern, it was met with a dismissive defense. read more

Massages are good. The only reason why I'm leaving a one star is because they are demanding a 50% minimum tip on a foot massage, which equals a minimum of $20. I've been to foot massages all over the world and NEVER have I seen this abuse. I was leaving a 25% tip and when I was paying the man at the register said no and pointed to the sign, which says $20 minimum. Things like this suck the joy out of a foot massage.
