Decent place hence 3 stars. Nothing really to rave about. Nothing overly impressive. I had the beef shin burger. It was nice and moist and chips that came with it where good. But wasn't as nice as Barking Dog. Price was good. £8.50 for burger and chips. The environment and staff lack character. All quite dull. Place was empty and food took a long time to arrive. Wouldn't like to eat here when there is more people. We also booked online to go at 2.45pm on a Saturday. When booking it said we had got the last table. When we arrived the place was empty and the waiter asked did we book. Seemed a bit strange. Easy enough to find parking. They sell alcohol.

Best thing about this place is the fancy sleek design. Also the table waiting service is one of the…read morebet I have ever experienced. The atmosphere is quite chilled which is nice. Other than that the food did not meet what I would have expected from a famous chefs restaurant. The portions where a decent size. I thought thy many have been super tiny. I found the food quite bland. The food highlight was my Canonbear starter and the bacon and cabbage side. My gnocchi main did not have a real depth of flavour. If you want gnocchi ,Horatio Todds is the place. So I was expecting something that would be better than that as this is a famous chefs place. The beetroot starter also lacked flavour. Have had it other places where it had way more taste. The menu has a decent range. Nice To see Sharon's platters on it and also nibbles for the table. Food took ages to be served. We had been there 2 hours and had just finished our mains. Did not get time for dessert as we had to be somewhere. The place wasn't even busy. The price was ok. But would have expected more flavour for what you are paying. I would not be back here. There is way too much eating establishment choice in East Belfast to waste money and taste buds in here.

We were greeted upon arrival by the very friendly and professional Maitre D who confirmed our booking and took us straight to our table, handing us over to our waiter. We ordered a sirloin steak each, done rare, and to cut to the chase, it was the best steak either of us had ever had. It was cooked to perfection and was an excellent quality steak. The accompaniments were delicious, and the service was fantastic - to give credit to the waiter, Neal, who was outstanding. Thank you for a great meal, I will be singing the praises and recommending far and wide!

The ground floor bar area was packed and busy! It was a good vibes. We sat and had dinner in a quiet setting upstairs. We enjoyed our food and drinks. My margarita was delicious. During the time I visited, it wasn't very packed so I was seated swiftly. The kind staff accommodated my request to get a corner table. The vibe can be describe is a classic. I really enjoyed all the dark stained wood furniture - gave it such an "old Irish saloon" vibe...maybe because it is haha. I did not have much time to spend in Belfast, so I tried to taste as many traditional dishes as possible with being just one person. With that being said, I ordered a few of their notable dishes - Crown Bar Irish Stew, Steak & Ale Pie, and to finish it off, the Sticky Toffee Pudding served with both the custard and ice cream (really thankful the server offered to give me two toppings, and they were both delicious). All the dishes were great, and are definitely hearty. The stew as well as the pie filling had a rich roux - nice, thick and flavorful. I will say, the pie pastry was not as flaky as I would have liked it; kind of too thick. Overall, it was a great taste of Ireland
