Great family owned owned and operated restaurant. Authentic and very warm homegrown flavors and recipes. The family and their staff were all very welcoming and accommodating even though we showed up a little late and witting a large party. We didn't realize they closed earlier on Thursdays. They hosted us regardless and never did we feel rushed at all. If anything they were fine having stay for as long as we wanted.of course we wouldn't make that imposition. Like I said, food was great and phenomenal! All flavorful and the aromas were just all there. Tasty cheeses, naan bread was warm and fresh, grape leaf stuffed with rice. Been going to another med restaurant for years and have driven by Olives a million times. Read a really good review on the Arlington Facebook group and we decided to try it out for my birthday dinner. I'm so glad we did! We ordered the mezza plate and subbed the dolmas for tabouli salad and everything was so fresh and tasty. You can tell the babaganoush and hummus was home made. The pitas are also handmade and toasted to perfection. We are so much we barely had room for our entree. We ordered the chicken kabab and it was so tender and juicy and the flavors were amazing. I will say the rice is under seasoned for my taste but was still good. Jasmin was our server and she was excellent. We highly recommend this place. We will def be back to try the gyros. read more

Me and my friend love a little local spot so when we were out and about in Arlington and discovered this little place to try and we were not disappointed!! First of all, the service was fantastic. Waitress was attentive and helped me box of my food to go. My mom got the chicken-kabob plate and I got the garlic shrimp. Delicious. This place came highly recommended. I honestly wanted to like this place because the server was the sweetest and most informative. I walked in around 330 p.m. and it was a ghosttown. That should've told me to just turn around. But I figured id give it a try. I got the chicken kabob plate. You get to pick two sides. So I got the rice and hummus. I wanted garlic sauce and she suggested making it garlic chicken. The garlic sauce was flavorless, rice was bland and not pilaf, chicken was ok, but lacked flavor. Hummus was chunky. It also had a cumin flavor I wasn't a fan of. The portions are very small. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the pita because it was definitely fresh. For the price point of 20 something bucks, it's def not worth it. I'm from california and even there, rice is included and you get two sides for $17+. I wanted other sides, but it was just so expensive. I usually walk out of a place spending 30 something and I have enough food to last me a few days. This wasn't that at all. We were in town for a reptile trade show and found this place for lunch. The owner isn't Greek but you wouldn't know that by his cooking. We had the dolmades as an appetizer and were transported back to Chania upon first bite. Thankfully we shared the main dish because the portions here are HUGE. My husband and I have lived in Arlington, Texas a long time, but somehow we never got around to checking out Olives Mediterranean Grill, which, it so happens, is only three and a half miles away from our house! Well, we went there last night for our Valentine's Day dinner. Guess what? It was wonderful! Atmosphere was cozy and inviting. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The food? So good! We didn't realize it was a Greek/Persian fusion restaurant, but whatever that means, the food was absolutely delicious. We started out with a generous platter of warm Pita bread, two hummus dips (sorry, I don't know the specific names), stuffed grape leaves and falafel. Then my husband had lamb (a gyro without the bread, basically) and I had a gorgeous plate of pastitsio! It was so good, I can't stop thinking about it and am planning on going back soon! Very soon, I hope! They are a BYOB eatery and everyone, including us, had a nice bottle of wine on their table to enjoy with their meal. Edit: my husband tried the garlic sauce and he loved it ... So much he bought an extra serving of it to go. He also had the baba ganoush, falafel, and tabbouleh. We ordered so much that we had to take did home. So serving sizes are great. Came here to try a new place. They have a limited drive thru menu and nothing calling my name, but the staff team were very kind and suggested I come inside to get the full menu. I am happy I did! I wanted to take this opportunity to love on this local business and update my review here. Olives sits in the cutest most unique little building (old house, I think?) in a plaza off of Randol Mill. It's family owned and operated and they make homemade Mediterranean food daily. They describe it as Greek, Persian, and Iranian. They really have a beautiful and affordable menu, and the food is consistently fresh, colorful, and delicious. I'm obsessed with their lentil soup, their falafel, their incredible hummus, their Greek salad (add grilled shrimp, it's the best), and their feta cheese plate is a must-order. We came on a Wednesday around 6:00 and it was not busy at all. I was a little concerned. Is this the place that has such great reviews? The owner (I am pretty sure) came out and greeted us and served us. He was very friendly and helpful. The food that came out was absolutely delicious! I had the Caesar salad with the most tender juicy flame boiled chicken that was perfectly seasoned. It was incredible and I will definitely try more of their meats in the future. I can't say enough about how much I love dining at Olives. I don't stop in at the restaurant enough and must make a point of stopping in more frequently. My sister was in town for a doctor's visit and I tagged along with her for moral support. After the appointment, it was lunch time and asked me to chose one of my favorite lunch stops for us to stop in at.
