First time eating at Tarboosh Gyro Grill. We came on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately upon entering. There are several tables available and it looks like they do a good pick-up business. It is bright and clean inside. We ordered the Gyro plate and the Arayus plate. We chose a salad as one of the sides. Both salads were very fresh and delicious. Both dinners came out pretty quickly, hot and plentiful. The plates are huge. The Gyro meat had lots of flavor. The Arayus plate was really good, something I hadn't had before. We liked it. What a hidden gem! Who would expect this authentic, family restaurant on a busy Arlington street's strip mall? First, the portions are like you are at a friend's home- so generous! Next- the babba ganoush is some of the best I've had in dfw- smoky, eggplant flavor with a beautiful glistening of olive oil served with a generous amount of thin and flavorful pita style bread. Came here for a late lunch and ordered a Gyro plate to go. Customer service was good and the wait wasn't too long. Included in the plate is your choice of two sides, and I choose french fries and greek salad (no feta). The plate came with an abundant amount of meat, pita, and various toppings. I stopped by for lunch at 11am on a Saturday. It wasn't very busy with plenty of tables so we were quickly seated. The menu offers several entree options including lamb, chicken, gyro, beef, and falafel. They don't have tea or coffee on their menu anymore. We ordered the gyro plate with hummus and rice and a chicken shawarma with tabbouleh and Greek salad. The food came out quickly and we were impressed by the big portions. Their hummus is so flavorful and their pita has a nice grilled taste to it. I just wish the pita came out warm - they were room temp. I loved both the Greek salad and tabbouleh; they were very fresh. The gyro and chicken shawarma were tender and well seasoned. The tzatziki and the garlic sauces complement the meats well. I used to come here all the time because it's close to my office, the food tasted great, and the customer service was always solid. I literally order the same thing every time -- the kefta kabob lunch with fattoush salad. Today was a completely different experience. I paid the same $16 and received maybe 3 inches of meat. The portion size was honestly shocking compared to what I've consistently gotten before. When I called to ask about it, I was told "the economy is bad" and that they'd let me know when portions go back to normal... which didn't sit right with me at all. If prices need to increase, just be upfront about it--but don't quietly cut portions and charge the same. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend this place anymore. If you're looking for great taste, generous portions, fair pricing, and good customer service, I'd suggest checking out Anman Grill in Mansfield instead. read more

The chicken was cooked perfectly, the wrap was fluffy, super ripe tomatoes, and they don't hold back on the garlic sauce. Also the pickles. I love the pickles they use. They are mild and add great texture. They are located in a strip center just south of 20 and the area is always a bit congested. They have a few tables and you order at the counter. Decor is sparse but it was very clean and the people are friendly.
