These guys got off to a bad start from outside where when we asked if they had a table at lunch, we were curtly told to go inside and ask, only to be ignored then eventually seated by the same guy. Mind it wasn't that busy. The decor is quite nice but it's hot as hell in there and multiple people complained about that whilst we were in there, maybe that's why all the waiters seemed so miserable. Or maybe we weren't dressed well enough for them to think we were worth making feel welcome. It's a rich area and I'm sure their usual clientele look it. Considering the heat, serving us with warm water was mildly irritating too; and about as thirst quenching as drinking my own sweat - which considering the heat in there I could have done. Second bottle of water we asked for ice, which was given to us in a glass with a teaspoon to serve it. Ok then... Food: Tbh the food was great, slightly small portions but good flavour and decent amount of fish in each dish. I had a brilliant half lobster with pasta, tried some sea urchin pasta and the crab pasta and all tasted fresh. The fish flavours were brought out really well and adorned slightly with creamy sauce giving the dishes moist and smooth textures. All three were bursting with flavour, which is hard in fish dishes to get right. So congrats there. All in all good food - just let down by the slow and miserable servers, so didn't enjoy the atmosphere and was kind of relieved to leave. I wouldn't advise going if the experience and atmosphere is something that's important when eating out.

This is a strictly seafood restaurant, so if anyone in your party is in search of a juicy steak, go elsewhere. With the exception of one long wall with a playful brown and beige graphic fish print on it, the minimal decor is stark white. The menu gravitates toward southern Italian and other Mediterranean flavors, and everything we had was outstanding. We started by sharing an order of steamed mussels in a white wine and garlic broth that was so good we mopped up every last drop and swordfish carpaccio sprinkled with chopped chives. We followed this with a tomato-based Sardinian couscous soup overloaded with clams and a baby octopus stew with enough chillis to give it a nice amount of heat. The seafood risotto was filled with prawns, mussels, and octopus, and mercifully everything has been peeled and shelled so you don't have to play with your food in public (a pet peeve of mine, and one of the reasons I never order lobster or roast chicken when eating out). Fritto misto had a nice selection of fresh fish and shellfish and wasn't the least bit greasy. We really didn't have room for dessert but forced ourselves to share an order of cheese fritters drizzled with honey our charming and very attentive Italian waiter insisted would be a sin to miss. He was right. My only complaint about Olivomare is that the tables are much too close to each other - it's nearly impossible to have a private conversation - and the hard plastic chairs become slightly uncomfortable long before you finish your meal. Yet the food is so good I can't bring myself to deduct a star for these drawbacks. There are a few tables outside, but even on a warm night I'd hesitate to eat on the sidewalk in full view of passing pedestrians. This is not an inexpensive night out - the tab for two with wine and service easily will top £100 - but the quality of the food and service makes it an ideal destination for a special event or occasional splurge.

I also got two oysters, to try and I'm so glad I did! Ambiance was nice and our server was super friendly. It was saddening to see the lobsters in the tank, looking half dead and two fighting while one had a claw free. I definitely wouldn't have eaten had I seen that first. So I dinged a point simply for this reason. All in all, great experience.

We went on a Wednesday night, and it wasn't even crowded with plenty of seats. The quality of the lobster was not good. I noticed the center of the lobster tail was a bit undercooked and didn't taste fresh. Also, the claws were very dry. I ended up getting a really bad stomachache after dinner that lasted the entire next day. Maybe I just got a bad lobster, I don't know. But for me, the burger was the only thing that was tasty here. All I can say is that I have tasted very fresh, juicy lobster at other restaurants compared to this place. For a place that's supposed to be known for lobsters, this establishment was a major disappointment.

We arrived a bit early, and were offered the opportunity to have a drink at the bar - the Siren restaurant is housed in an extension of the bar that is a solarium overlooking the garden. Martinis are correct, properly chilled without over-dilution (no small feat during these hot summer days). Moving on to our table for 2, we were greeted with crusty bread, seaweed butter, and whipped cod roe (in essence inspired by a greek taramosalata). We settled on baked scallops and the cuttlefish black pudding as starters. Excellent scallops, though weighed down a bit by an overly strong orange butter and breadcrumbs. The cuttlefish black pudding was created a very moist custard-y texture that is lighter and more succulent than the traditional version. That said, my personal preference would be that it did not eschew the seafood flavor in its goal of avoiding "fishiness". I would have hoped that the dish would retain certain flavors that would remind me that I was eating cuttlefish and its ink. But these are minor quips. We also sampled some of the best cockles and clams we had ever tasted. We had been presented with the day's special was a seafood platter with lobster, clams and cockles but could not resist asking if the kitchen could offer us just the clams and cockles - and they did, at very reasonable cost. Beautifully mineral and briny, these reminded you why one seeks out restaurants that can source the best seafood. The main was the Grilled Monkfish for 2, elegantly spiced, paired with 2 sauces - a tartare (light cream sauce with capers and shallots) and a crab sauce (an intense bisque). The first bites were pure meatiness, like the finest kebab of monkfish. Later bites revealed an intense spice profile reminiscent of a Chicken Tikka. Bravo. Service was good, not completely crisp but the staff meant well. Let's be fair it's only been open for a couple of weeks. Note: Visited on Sunday, July 14th 2019.

I do have to say though, the oysters were far from the best I've had, as they were quite small and not very flavorful. Brixham cod (£30)- Pretty good and went well with the peas and crushed potatoes, but I don't think the portion size was really worth the price. Shrimp burger (£22)- Similar story to the cod, decent but not really worth the cost. I also tried 2 of the "lo and no" drinks (a fruity one and the virgin mojito), which were both quite good. The best part of this place is the nice location right by the River Thames and the Battersea Power Station, especially on a nice weather day. They have a nice outdoor seating area as well as a pleasant indoor space. The staff are friendly and attentive and the service speed is decent. Overall, while I do think Wright Brothers is slightly overpriced, I would be willing to pay the price if I can enjoy the nice weather and happen to be in the area.

However after ordering their biggest seafood platter (1 each) and fries, we left with a bill of £200 and we were still hungry. I was not impressed with how little was on the platter. Service was barely there and making comments whilst looking at the customers - I was pretty shocked as it is such a contrast to the Borough and Kingley Court locations. I would definitely not recommend this location.

However, I need to warn my fellow Yelpers to stay away from Oliveto if you value Good Pizza! I mean, how hard is it to have good pizza!?! It is a simple staple which I have enjoyed in the US, in China and yes even in Italy. At it's most basic, it should be dough, sauce (doesn't have to be tomato necessarily), mozzarella and maybe some toppings, right? Here is where Oliveto went wrong for my mother and me: 1) they use cheap cheddar cheese - not mozzarella! 2) not a lot of sauce, maybe just enough to color it 3) the dough was soggy and didn't rise (I actually like thin crust, but this was inferior doug and 4) topping that were not as advertised, i.e. prosciutto should not look like and taste like store-bought sliced ham! Service was okay - the men like to talk about customers in their native tongue, thinking that patrons don't know what they are saying about them. We were so glad that we split a pie - most tables got a pie per person. Neither of us could finish this "pizza" honestly. Perhaps the only redeeming thing are the prices - this might be the cheapest choice in an otherwise expensive neighborhood.
