They have a lot of great classes they offer each month. They have a large variety of items from new to vintage and you can really tell the owner is picky with whom she allows to set up in her shop. The shop itself is really big and set up so elegantly you could easily wander and shop for an hour. Kathy's shop is a definite must see when you are strolling around Fortville. I just wish I took more pictures to share but i was so drawn into looking around i forgot. This town is also a great place for some amazing fall pictures or photographers in general. There was a lot that I wanted but ended up with a jean jacket and a bag. There were a few things I was still thinking about and didn't want to carry around, but ended up forgetting them until after I had already left. Twisted Sisters has a great variety of gifts and many different themes and types of gifts. They have a lot of unique items that I don't see in other shops. One thing I really appreciate about the shop is the people working there are friendly and willing to help you find a great gift for someone. That's rare, in my experience. It's easy to find and it's a convenient location. There is ample parking. The other thing I have to mention is they will add tissue paper to your little brown paper bag and dress it up, if it is a gift and then you don't have to bother wrapping it yourself! That's a big plus for me. It is becoming my go to place when I need a fun and unique gift.

After…read morea while, the owner thought that if she changed it to a Christian bookstore AND a home decor and handcrafted goods store, the store would attract more customers. That seems like some 4D chess right there, and good business sense. I can imagine more people would want to visit a home goods store than they would a Christian bookstore, but I could be wrong. That said, there's still a Christian bookstore in the back of the store, with all sorts of nonfiction and fiction texts. (Even Christian romance books! Sizzling.) The rest of the store is home decor, candles, signs, dish towels, art supplies, greeting cards, artificial flowers, vintage pieces, and handmade jewelry and art from local artists. It's a mishmash of all kinds of things, and everything is arranged just so, and the whole store is pleasing to walk through. It also smells nice because of all the candles. The Gilded Nest also offers art classes and creative workshops, like flower arranging. They have a little art studio in a corner. This is a store that my mom would have loved. She liked to decorate her house with hand-painted signs with Bible verses on them, chalk-painted shabby chic furniture and cute little trinkets. As soon as I walked into the store, I was like, "Oh man! I wish my mom could be here! She would appreciate this." Most of the store is not my style at all, but I liked walking around and looking at all of the things and thinking about what my mom might have bought.
