Artemis I know I'm not spelling her name right. She is the manger I come from Muncie & I go to Barnes & Nobles because of the atmosphere that they have given me since I was a child. I have a lot of criterion's ordered & she is of course making sure that I get them all. Because they all come in at different times. & they work with you here & make sure you get the stuff you want. I'm always so happy in this store. I drive far to just spend time here still. Barnes & Nobles one of the only true safe places in this state for EVERYONE! That is a hard thing to achieve! The criterion sales I spend so much money but worth every penny! & I want to support Barnes & Nobles before Anyone else! When you have a great manager. They make sure to hire people that are kind & patient! Because they are happy there! Everyone is great in this store I have met but Artemis has an energy no one can deny. My daughter sent me a second electronic gift card to spend on a book. So this trip was not my first rodeo. I decided to go by the Noblesville, IN, location since I live nearby and browse the books. I found one that was really good. I take it to the front desk and walk to the first guy available. He rudely says I need to go to the other cashier who was already busy with another customer. I'm like OK. So when the other cashier was done and I told her that I wanted to purchase this book with a gift card; that's when I was forced into Barnes & Noble hell. The cashier apparently knew nothing about B&N policies, their gift card program, or even good customer service! Rather than go into specifics, this cashier tells me I could not use the gift card IN the store but had to use it ONLINE! I'm like what? You mean to tell me I have the book I want in my hand but I've got to go online to order it and pay shipping fees? She says yes and I thought she was absolutely nuts! It didn't make sense. So I press on telling this cashier I've done it before! She insists I couldn't use it in-store! I thought instantly my poor daughter who sent me the card was doing something nice for her dad and look at this stupidity! The cashier then consults the other rude cashier and he says thee same thing and I slam the book down and tell them I will NEVER shop at Barnes & Nobles again! The I call customer service for B&N and who do I get? Some Filipino 8000 miles away! I go home and do my research and nowhere on the B&N website does it say a customer can only use a gift card online. My experience at B&N changed my entire day! But while I'm on the subject of negative impressions of B&N, this new location is much smaller and there is a serious lack of place to sit and peruse the books! The chairs that are available are like those at the airport. Don't get up for a moment because someone is waiting and will take your seat since they are a hot commodity there! Also why is there a lack of technology magazines like the ones B&N used to carry? The magazine selection looks like the ones that used to be at CVS and other pharmacies! I will most certainly go ONLINE in the future to get my books. There are choices like Thriftbooks and Amazon available for my book buying rather than subject myself to the tyranny and very poor customer service of B&N. read more

When checking out, I asked my friendly cashier if they had heard anything about the Carmel location closing. I was just wondering since the Noblesville location was moving. He wasn't sure & asked the cashier next to him. She had short blue hair & glasses. She lit me up for spreading "false information" & was beyond rude to me. I went here to use my laptop in their cafe and had a nice experience. It sure is busy in here. You know what that makes me think about? The fact that people love bookstores and having somewhere to browse books, buy cute gifts, grab a coffee, attend author events, and meet other book lovers! I wish there were more bookstores in Indianapolis. I wish there were more bookstores in the world, in general. (Shout out to Borders and Kinokuniya which are like nonexistent in these parts.) The actual review: This place is clean and well stocked. The chocolate cupcake I bought was rich and delicious. The apple tart I bought was warmed up and topped with whipped cream, to my pleasant surprise. The Nantucket Nectar "Squeezed Lemonade" I drank was chilly and refreshing. The wifi works. The restroom had paper towels in the paper towel dispenser. Props to the staff! I found a Taraji P. Henson biography that I want to buy later when I get paid. Thanks y'all. read more

Love the store, but my last experience left me not wanting to return ever and just order my books off Amazon. Backstory: ordered a fifty dollar programming book. Asked to get the latest 3rd addition of the book. Offered the membership which I got to get 20% off the book. Received the book and it is the first edition (2014), instead of 2020 version. Called the number and was on hold for 30 minutes. Then another twenty explaining to the rep what happened. It appears that I can not just return the book to the store, but have to ship it back and wait until they receive it for a credit back to my account. This is unlike returns/exhanges to Amazon which were easy and smooth. To bad, I was going to buy whole bunch more books from them for Christmas, but I won't now. read more

Good bookstore, bad cafe. Ordered a mango dragonfruit refresher, got a dragon drink instead and the difference is that it has coconut milk. When I went up and said this isn't what I order I was told with "this is what you ordered" any other actual Starbucks would have just re made this drink no questions asked. I love this bookstore. I can wander the aisles and see what strikes my eye. Or I can head to certain sections and look for a book in one of my interests. The staff is always helpful and courteous. If there's a book or media item I want, but they don't have it, they will order it. Don't worry, they will let you know when they expect it to come in and when it arrives. The Starbucks (coffee shop) is also good. Although I have only been in there a couple of times. read more

This is a really nice store. It's just really hard for me to find the genre I like to read. I like to read horror and true crime. I have an easier time finding coloring books. As always I love Barnes and Nobles Bookstores. I can spend hours in there! This is a very nice location, not as nice as the two story location back in Marietta GA where I came from though! But I must say this is where I discovered the peanut butter cup cookie in the coffee shop inside. How have I ever overlooked this item before. If you kave not tried it do yourself a favor and stop ina and get one! Please be aware it is huge, rich, and about 600 calories at least. But it is oh so yummy!!! People Barnes and Noble Noblesville are there to make the $ (nothing wrong with that) but they need to hire people that are passionate about books. I went in the store yesterday to inquire about an author and they looked it up in their system only to be told that they don't carry any of the books. I asked if they can do a site to store order and the lady said "no we can't do that". After that the lady just gave me a blank stare and offered no further help or suggestion. read more
