    My new favorite discount store
    Trimell L.

So I discovered Ollies from a newspapers mailer. I've wanted the weighted blanket for years, they have it for $40!!!! Compared to 90-150$ I've found before. I'm actually here now to return an item I got in my last visit. When I walked in I saw that the line was SUPER long. My mind immediately went to "ugh" this this that kinda place. But as I stood in like, cause I wasn't leaving, the manager came out and apologized for the lines. I've never in all of my years as a consumer had someone come out and simply apologize for the long line. Then, get this, he started offering us candy!!! And the good stuff, not peppermints and things, SNIICKERS! M&Ms!! Twix! Like I said the good stuff!!!

A well organized clearance chain store that has everything from housewares to sporting goods to flooring and to food from a nice assortment of garden & patio items. Discounted prices on things I have been waiting to find at other clearance stores I found there in bulk such as quality patio cushions, weighted blankets, big ceramic flower pots, and now even a nice Lane rocker recliner. Need a gift for a birthday, quality luggage for a trip, coffee pods for a Kereg or just dish or clothes detergent? Good stuff cheap, but just watch out for those items that are cheaply made!

This is a bargain hunter's dream!! Shopping is always the last thing on my mind. My husband has been dying to take me to this store, so we finally got an opportunity. It was discount paradise! I try to be a minimalist to the best of my ability and can't stand buying things that I don't need. They have everything here... from home goods: furniture, appliances, kitchen needs, bedding and more to non-perishable food items: cereals, cookies, condiments, candies and much more. There was even a huge section of carpets and books. I was pretty impressed. For the most part, the store was pretty organized. I was looking at bath rugs and there was one that I found (that I loved), but I couldn't find another one. We bought flashlights, batteries, a cool toy for our daughter and a few house needs. If you sign up for their mailing list, they will send you coupons. During this last visit, my husband got 15% off, so it was nice to save some on our purchase. My only gripe was that it was a busy Sunday afternoon and it took them a hot second to open up another check-out stand. I'm sure they'll be even busier during the holidays, so get your shopping done early! There were a lot of parking spaces + it's next door to the Dollar Tree. Easy access from Staring Lane.

There is a pay to park multi-level garage attached to the rear of the building if you need it. The B&N itself is large and spacious, occupying two floors. Most of the downstairs floor space is devoted to one of the most extensive collections of LSU merchandise in Baton Rouge. Clothing, home items, tailgating paraphernalia, and toys are all here in their purple and gold glory. There is literally a whole wall covered in hats! Another important downstairs area is the B&N Café, which serves Starbucks Coffee, but is not an actual Starbucks location. Upstairs, are the books. You need to have those in a bookstore of course. There is the textbook area, where students can get their required reading for classes. Then there are the other bookshelves which include a selection of stock that you would find at other B&N locations. In addition to these features, the upstairs is where you find the Apple Authorized Campus Store. This area includes, Macs, iPads, and other Apple products all available at an educational discount price to students and other qualified buyers (and at regular prices to others). This Apple enclave is like a mini-Apple Store within a store. Overall, the B&N at LSU is tailored to its community. It meets many needs, and is a great place to browse or spend time. One can enjoy both the indoor and outdoor seating areas, have lunch or a snack, and read or work. It's a good place to visit if you are in the LSU area.

Don't get me wrong, I burn incense and candles at home, but having so much scented material in paper and open containers in a small space does not make good air. It was hard for me to determine how any of the incense smelled because I could only smell The One True Scent of everything mixed together. Anyway, this place is fine and typical. Has stones, jewelry (expensive), incense and incense burners, books, tarot. Doesn't have figurines, clothing, or smoking paraphernalia like some places; whether thats good or bad is up to you. They have a decent selection of affordable gems. Didn't find anything I really wanted though; many of the crafted items were poor quality, it'd be nice if they replaced the badly made wooden boxes with used or antique ones, and maybe included some local candlemakers and other artisans.
