Target Drive up/Pick up 5 plus stars…read more Due to an injury, I have been using Target Drive Up pickup, and I am amazed how efficient the service is. It is a well thought out process that benefits the customer. It has been a convenient, huge time saver for me. First, shopping in the Target App for groceries and other items is easy. Items can be removed from your cart. Toiletries, clothing, toys, books etc. are also available for drive up. The app even lets you know if there is a special offer on the item. AND I get 5% off everything by using my Target charge card which is on file. Second and most importantly, drive up pickup is whenever time during open hours that you want to pick up! This differs from the set time frame given by Hannaford and other supermarkets. Consequently, it is more convenient and good for busy individuals. Frozen and perishable food items are separated and held for you in appropriate spaces. Process all on Target App: 1. You let them know when you are in your way in app. You have been notified that your order is ready for pick up. 2. You park in a designated spot in parking lot and let them know spot number. 3. They know make of car because you told them. 4. They ask where you would like groceries to be placed - back seat, trunk, hatchback etc. 5. Someone comes out in a few minutes, seems almost immediately. 6. You show number of your order in app. 7. Groceries are put in your car and off you go! Everything is packed well. Substitutions can be made for out of stock items or you are not charged. Life changer for many including for those who work and/or who have young children.

This place feels like what I remember KMart being like before it started to really go down hill…read more It's not a bad place, but the parking lot pretty much is. They tend to have what you order online, but when you go inside to pick up because they decided that day that they're either understaffed or don't feel like bringing it out to your car, you realize that this place is a bit disorganized. Returns checkout where they tell you to go has two sets of registers... one for returns and another for order pickup & registry. They'll just close the order pickup one and then not tell you... they'll pretend that the register isn't there and that you're not standing in front of it because you read the signs. Then employees will come and ignore you... if you're trans, they'll even misgender you despite a transman working there too... well, whatever... that's the area, I guess. Speaking of the area, I parked my car in the "pick up area" because they said they weren't coming out because of "inclement weather" while it wasn't that cold, not snowing, not raining, not even windy, just overcast... they were just understaffed and didn't bother to mention it while you placed the order. So then I dealt with the rest of it when you went inside... and you realized that the entire returns area is just a complete mess with no lane boundaries.. and just walking around shopping carts. The neighborhood seems to be taking a downward turn because as I come out of my car to go inside, two high school kids come up and ask if I wanted to buy candy for their high school... this is the kind of 3rd world crap I'd deal with if I went to my father's home country of the Dominican Republic where they try to make you buy Chiclets gum you don't want. I used to get pick up orders here instead of Clifton Park where I lived because they'd actually have stuff here I wanted to get vs Clifton Park. But I'm a bit done with Target now. Between that experience and the one where I went down the road to Cohoes and they gave me all dented food and some expired products, this is about what KMart stared becoming in the 90s near me... just people not caring and disorganization. I hate going to the returns counter and next time I have that start of an experience, I'll just cancel the order and let you all put the food back. The area just seems like it's going down hill and it's probably not just the Target, but even Papa Johns on the other side of the lot feels like you walked into a bad part of town and everyone's just looking for a fight.... There are better places to go.

This is the Ballston Spa Episcopal Church Thrift Shop. Noahs Attic is a fund raiser for the church. I have been to Noahs Attic many times. I have not only bought items but I have donated many items over the years. It is a great place to get items for your kitchen and household items. They have a Christmas sale every year and they participate in the Ballston Spa garage sale.

I understand that maybe I don't look how you want me to look, but my money is just as green as everyone else. I will not be back anytime soon. As one of my nephews said "it's my vacation from my vacation". Everything is reasonably priced. As much as I avoided leaving a review all these years, wanting to keep my secret fishing hole secret, I'm leaving one now because I honestly don't know if they'll still be there July 2021. One of the owners has been sick, they're not getting any younger and I'm sure the COVID 19 epidemic didn't help. I was there a few weeks ago, unpriced albums seemed to be $1, priced albums were half the marked price. Unpriced 45's seemed to be.50, priced 45's were half the marked price. I've never looked at their Classical albums, they have a lot so a fan might do well. I've skimmed through the Soundtracks and Original Casts, have occasionally bought something but never looked deeply. If you've got a jukebox and are looking for records you'll do well here. They also have 78's and CD's. Two July's ago I picked up a Hank Williams 78 and a Sonny Boy Williamson 78. Full disclosure, you're not coming out of their with any rare Rock or Jazz. I've seen that stuff dwindle down. Three July's ago I found a mono Jefferson Airplane "After Bathing At Baxter's" and a Leigh Stephens "Red Weather", this year the best albums I found were a promo Brinsley Schwarz "Silver Pistol" and the Fraternity of Man album. There's lots of books too, I've bought quite a few music biographies here. My understanding is they are only open Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11-2:30. The phone number is listed here, I'd call first or text. I texted and received a fast response. One last thing, I just added this business to Yelp! thinking that they could use the support and I'm sure the sales. It's my thank you for the six or so years of giving me someplace to go on my "vacation from my vacation". If Bob's Books & Music isn't there next July it will be a very sad day in my life.

For example, the record albums are all in fair to poor condition but priced as if they are near mint. Currently, they have a Led Zeppelin album (Coda) that is in a poor, disgraceful condition. It has mold/mildew stains and odor, split seams and when you open the gatefold there is a large tear in the paper. The record is equally bad. They want $25 for it. It's a record you would find in a $2 bin anywhere else. I purchased this same album from another record shop in the area. I paid $20 for it in near mint/like new condition. I noticed the same theme with all their records. I saw Rolling Stones albums from the late 60's that were in deplorable condition...all were marked $20 and higher. I could find very few records in decent shape that were worth playing. The books were priced somewhat better but still on the higher end for the conditions they carry. Bottom line: If you want to spend a rainy day just browsing here it may suffice? However, when it comes down to purchasing items from this store you would be well off to compare prices online and with other venues.

In my efforts to downsize, I've been making some donations to the Salvation Army on Central Avenue…read morein Colonie. I like this facility. It's larger than many of the other locations. It's open on most days. They accept donations around the back. Due to staffing limitations they explained that donations of household goods must be dropped off before 11am on weekdays. They accept clothing donations throughout much of the day. They move a lot of clothing. Most of the staff is genuinely nice and helpful. I discovered that this center is also a good place to find cool, vintage glassware, especially from the 1960s. I love glassware. So while I make donations, I also pick up some fascinating etched stemware. Most don't match. It's hard to find sets but I can't beat the price which is 79 cents per glass. I also picked up some cute vintage dessert glasses at $1.99 apiece. I must sell or give away more than I purchase in order to downsize. The rule of de-cluttering is that you must donate or sell an old item before you buy a "new" one. The items at the Salvation Army are not generally new, but it is about people helping people and you can find some cool stuff.

I only had 15 minutes before they closed, but found a couple of slim nonfiction treasures: $1 for a Zen Buddhist journal/magazine, and $2 for a pamphlet. The collection is heavy and nonfiction, including plenty of history, religion, and social sciences, with some art & music. Fiction is a mix of non-current popular titles and quasi-vintage books. I asked about science fiction and fantasy and there was one shelf, mostly old science fiction. I hope to go back to browse, and bring a mask and my history-book-loving husband.
