Normally, places like this that sell extremely non-essential home decorating objects seem to make a point of being friendly to induce you to buy something. Not these guys. Too bad. I don't know if it's because I pulled up in a truck? You can tell this is the kind of place where regulars stop just to chat and check up on what's new. Besides the customer service being great, they have anything you could ever need - ANYTHING - in super unique stuff that everyone I've gifted to has loved, and there's a price point for every budget. I somehow ended up down in this area and decided to stop at as many thrift and antique stores as I could. This one was a bit confusing for me (parking wise). I wasn't sure where I was to park, as the small lot next to it was full and I didn't think I was allowed to go around the back. I ended up parking across the street at a closed business and walked over here. When I approached the front of the business heading to the door I was greeted by one of the employees. I usually hate having to make small talk and will try to go out of my way to avoid it, but it came easily with this employee. She was pleasant and we spoke about the weather and what not. Once inside, I completely lost track of what I was here to look for. See, when they have cats up for adoption, I just don't remember a damn thing. What was fun was the cats wondering about in the space. It was so distracting (in a good way) to have them rubbing up against you demanding pets. I interacted with the cats more than I browsed. When I did browse, I found that they have a good mix of items and definitely warrants a revisit. But on this visit, I didn't find what I was looking for.

But, in the end, I was happily surprised. Walking in you are welcomed by a vast space filled to the brim with items to search through. This place could literally be a treasure hunt if you have the time to do so. Even though it was quite tempting, I was on a mission to find what I came here for. Making my way to the area where they had all their furniture was almost like walking into a different section here. I zig-zagged my way through the area and taking glimpses at items as I went. It was hard to figure out if the item you were looking at was a singular item or part of a matching set. It was also hard to tell if an item was for sale or if it was just a display item. It was also hard to tell if that item was sold already or not. After searching and searching, I decided on what I wanted. However, with my never being here before, and not knowing what to do, I had to search for an employee to figure this out. Now, you want to talk about a treasure hunt, this was a treasure hunt trying to find an employee. After my search was successful, I was able to figure out what to do to at least pay for the items. I paid and then needed to get those items into my vehicle. After some time and employee was able to get the end tables out of the area they were and up to the front. Once I had them in my vehicle I was able to head home. Once I got them home I did a healthy cleaning and polishing. Tightened a few screws and they were good as new. Actually gave me some great space to store and display. I wanted to touch on the employees here. If they are good at one thing, it is how to avoid the customers and/or displayed disdain in helping customers. There was no affect on the gentleman that helped me load the tables into my vehicle. And having to play hide and seek/tag with the employees was not super toddler fun like it used to be.

I still can't believe I found this great ironing board.

When I visited I was still in the 'move in' phase at my apartment. That means I was constantly coming across things that I didn't have, or things that I had, but had no idea where they might be. Not big things, but essential things. Target has come through for me and I was able to grab some of the needed items while I stopped here. I may have also bought myself a few items that weren't warranted, but wanted. This store was clean and organized. It also appeared that they were well stocked with a variety of items. Overall, great experience here. Especially after using the self checkout, I was on my way.

I went light in this area because I was so far away from home and still had some shopping to do. I know this is an overstated fact about this establishment, but you get a lot for your money when you shop here. I came out of here with a few bags. The employees looked a bit tired and a bit offstandish to deal with.

I was about to exit when the owner saw my frustrated look. He asked me if you could help me find anything. I described what I was looking for and he started guiding me around the space. Pointing out items, but he knew that it wasn't what I was looking for. He even stated that they just sold something that might have filled that void for me. When I was about to head out he actually gave me suggestions on where else I should look. This is a great business and one that shares brochures for other antiquing businesses. He told me about other shops around and we ended up talking about cats. We also ended up showing each other pictures of our cats. It was and odd, but greatly appreciated experience.
