Every time we head down to Mexico, we make a point to stop at Ollie's Pizza in Rosarito. it's truly one of our favorite spots anywhere. It might sound odd to say you're going to Mexico for authentic Italian food, but this is the place. Everything is delicious, fresh, and full of love. We always start with the Caprese salad. Then we share a pizza (always thin, crispy, and flavorful) and sometimes a pasta dish. A glass of wine completes the meal and sets the perfect tone for the rest of the drive. What really makes Ollie's special is the heart behind it all. The owner named the place after his beloved dog, Ollie. When Ollie passed away, he got another dog and gave it the same name. so "Ollie" has always been there, welcoming us back each time like an old friend. Also, I usually have a thing about bathrooms (I'm picky!), but this one is super clean , which I really appreciate. Friendly service, great food, and a story that sticks with you. Ollie's is a Rosarito must. As a sidenote : this place is only open in the late afternoons and evenings. After reading the reviews my husband and I decided to try this place out. At first it seemed like it was happening since there was a line and a wait outside. As we were being seated we were told that the table was reversed and therefore it would need to be vacated before 7:30 for a party of 6 people, mind you it was 5:30. Right at that moment we felt a rush as we were basically being timed out. We ordered a BBQ chicken pizza and well let's just say it has been one of the worst pizzas I've tasted since having a Little Caesars pizza. I was a bit perplexed when my friend suggested we get pizza during our trip to Rosarito Mexico. Color me SHOCKED when I say the pizza was legit great not just for Mexico, but for any pizza place I've had. Very easy to drive past Ollie's and think nothing of it. Really glad there is some dedicated parking for this place though. When we walked in, I was pleasantly surprised with the décor and warm/inviting feeling it had. It was relatively early for dinner but the place was already very busy. We were sat quickly and the service was prompt. So for the most part the menu options are straightforward. There were a couple of items that perked my interest but I decided to keep it simple and go with a sausage and pepperoni. Wow was I impressed with the quality and taste of ingredients. The pizza was super flavorful and the wood fired crust was perfectly done. I'm not sure how often I'll be in the area but Ollie's is definitely on my list to come back to. read more

I tried this pizza yesterday evening, and the brick oven crust is delicious and crisp. I went the safe route and ordered pepperoni. They don't skimp out on the pepperoni. I'll tell you that. I wish I had taken a picture, but I was so hungry. There was only 1 size, you can call it a medium, we paid $16.50 in dollars. We make the drive to this place as it's the only restaurant that offers gluten-free pizza. We've enjoyed your food on many occasions, but this weekend, we had an experience that makes us reconsider if we ever want to return. Firstly, after ordering our gf pizza takeout, we were not allowed to sit inside to wait (DESPITE THE FACT THAT THERE WERE MANY EMPTY TABLES). We were told we had to wait on a tiny bench outside, in the cold, like LEPERS. Is your PAYING customer who orders your takeout worth less than the customer who dines in? Are we both not paying the same prices? Management ought to respect their clients more since it is WE who enable you to continue to run your business. Had no tables been available, the request to wait outside would have been reasonable, however there were around SIX empty tables to choose from. Once we received our takeout and were back home, shielded from the night chill we were made to endure at the behest of your snippy employees, we discovered that the bottom of each of our respective pizzas was covered in black soot- implying that your ovens are NOT regularly cleaned. Cleaning an oven of this nature is not time-consuming or difficult and should be standard practice in ANY decent establishment. Also, unlike other gf pizzas we've enjoyed from your restaurant, these ones were UNDERCOOKED and we both were left with stomachaches and acid reflux. This had not happened with your food before. I always chose your food not only because of the gluten-free option, but because of the quality. The quality this time around, however, was NOWHERE to be found. Lastly, the last two occasions we dined in and paid with card, we were asked how much we wanted to tip. We explicitly said the percentage we wanted. And not once, but TWICE, we later learned that the waiter had chosen a higher percentage WITHOUT our consent. This is THEFT and DISRESPECTFUL to your customers. I would suggest the owner (or whoever is in charge) to have a serious conversation with the employees or hire new ones altogether. Customers should not be subject to such rudeness from your members of staff. This kind of blatant disrespect will run your business to the ground. We are very disappointed and unsure as to whether we should even return. I hope this review will be helpful not only to prospective customers, but to management itself. Stability and consistency is key to keeping a faithful, content client base. Disrespecting and STEALING from your customers is NOT the way to go. read more

I wasn't sure how this place was going to be. It was however on my list of places to try. Excuse me; pizza places to try. It is a Brick oven that they use which is my favorite. this is a must. I will definitely be back. Crust was nearly perfect. I am vegan, so I did ask for it with cheese & extra veggies. They give you oregano or rosemary garlic & a regular garlic oil on the side. DEEEEEELISH!!! We sat in the car & finished it before we even left. Well worth it. For Mexico, it was a little on the expensive side (it wasn't really expensive I'm just giving perspective). Pizza in Mexico?? I remember it being like cardboard crust. I saw great Yelp reviews and this place was recommend by friends. They weren't wrong. My husband and I walked in and the place was packed. We got lucky and were seated at the bar which overlooked the open kitchen. They know what they are doing here. Everyone was friendly and the service was fast. I had several margaritas and my husband ordered a few beers. We ordered pizzas to go - a cheese pizza, a pepperoni pizza and the Nutella dessert pizza. While we waited they brought over little dishes of cheese and olives, yum! The pizzas were delicious and they gave us plenty of peppers, Parmesan cheese and even honey. Pizza dough was amazing but unfortunately I was so disappointed when I got my to go order at the hotel and started to bite a my "gorgonzola caramelized onions" as was literally cook sugary/caramel on the onions!!! Was so sweet unable to eat it not even a desert should be so sweet! I tried to remove the candied onions but was style so sweet not testing the gorgonzola witch if incredible. So sad. Two options: 1-for some reasons they wanted to add extra triple crazy sugar sweet on a savory pizza which it is wrong in any country 2-or the cook took literally the translation of " caramelized " onions and add tons of sugar when he did sauté the onions. Additionally we took an orange salad with our pizzas when we opened to box it was only 2 leaves of lettuce with a quarter of an orange and some blue cheese that was also very sad not worth the 9$ Anyway my husband ham and mushroom pizza was great so please fix the onions or move it to the desert section and do not be cheap on the lettuce this should be part of the salad. We came here upon a recommendation of some part-time locals. On a Saturday evening it wasn't as crowded until we left at 7:55 it started to get really crowded Finding a parking spot is not an issue because there's plenty!! We started with a beer and a margarita but the margarita was bland and I didn't enjoy it, I should've asked for top shelf tequila. They brought us some complimentary olives and some cheeses that we didn't touch it. The establishment itself is very nice and cozy inside. Once our pizza came out the waiter asked if anyone had explained to us the different assortment of the infused oils and how to properly pair them. My husband ate the pepperoni half and I ate the half with the Gorgonzola and caramelized onions. Pizza was good but not excellent. One pizza was enough for two ppl without having the over stuffed feeling afterwards. The service was good, the minute our plates were empty someone came out real fast to clear our table. read more

For us, Ollie's has always been a yearly family tradition when we visit our beach house in Rosarito. We first found out about Ollie's on a flyer we found in the pool club house and the picture of the oven style Napoletana pizza was too much to pass up. So one day after soaking in the pool we decided to give it a try. I didn't really have any expectations from Ollie's, I mean its in the land of seafood and tacos so Pizza was not really something I looked for down here. The restaurant, named after the owner's dog Ollie (which I think passed away) is a very warm and inviting place. We got there right when they opened and had our pick of tables. The waiters were really nice and even offered my kids blankets because they saw they were really cold, especially after the pool. They start you off with a sampling of their cheeses and olives which are all very delicious!! Their menu is very simple and similar to what Settebello is back in the states. Pizza's are sold in the traditional 10" size and are thin hand tossed crust. Since we have been there many times I think we can say we have had almost every pizza on their menu and each one is more delicious than the last. What makes it so good is their crust and their simple crushed tomato sauce that is perfectly cooked in their wood burning oven. My family loves going to Ollie's each year and even though this type of restaurant doesn't really fit with all of the other places out here it is definitely a place you should make an effort to visit. read more
