I've visited this place several times and regularly shop at a few of the stores here. Every time…read moreI've made a purchase, the cashiers have been very clear about the return policy -- items must be returned within 2 days, and anything marked final sale cannot be returned. I appreciate that they consistently explain the policy so customers know the rules upfront. This past weekend, I went shopping with my mom on Saturday. On Sunday she asked me to return a pair of earrings because the closure wasn't secure. I went back to the store with the item and the receipt about 15 minutes before closing. When I brought the item to the counter, the interaction started with some not-so-inviting remarks. I asked the associate helping me if there was an issue returning jewelry, and she said there wasn't but that she needed to check the receipt because of the strict policy. Before she even looked at my receipt, another employee with reddish hair stepped in and said they had to be careful because people "try to get over all the time." At that point, my receipt still hadn't even been reviewed. I firmly explained that my mom had asked me at the last minute to return the item and that I really didn't want to come back out, but because of their policy she wanted to make sure it was returned within the timeframe. The other employee responded sarcastically, saying, "Well, your mom is right." The associate who was originally helping me then completed the return without any issue. Afterward, I quickly checked out at one shop and headed out since the stores were closing. As I walked toward the door, I could hear the same employee loudly expressing her frustrations, and when she noticed me she immediately stopped and turned away. I completely understand why a business like this needs to have a strict return policy, and I respect that. However, the commentary and assumptions made during the process were unnecessary. A simple, professional interaction would have made the experience much more pleasant.

I was blown away with what I had walked in to, I'd like to think of it as an upscale flea market. The store included specialized gifts, decor, jewelry, clothes, home goods, paintings, record albums, snacks, candles, plants, art...all under one roof. You name it, they have it. After walking around for over an hour looking at each vendor, I decided to buy my daughter a pair of socks (they have an abundance of awesome socks) and fun snacks. As I was checking out, the lady shared that they currently have over 270 vendors within the store and that they change often. There was also a "Ladies Night" event that week which included amazing sales, live music and gift card giveaways! All of the prices were fairly decent as well. If you are looking for a gift for someone or just want to buy something for yourself, Painted Tree is definitely the place to go!!!

Some antiques, some restored antiques and some new things. They had furniture, soap, decorative elements, some cute driftwood/recycled wood frames I have been looking for for a while, and some other items. All good stuff. We were mostly left alone to browse at our leisure which is fine with me, I hate being followed around while I stop and look and take Yelp photos. They didn't have a huge selection of items but what they did have appeared to be priced fairly reasonably and of good quality. If you are looking for some items you probably won't find at a local retail chain, this could be a good option.

The shop is full of fabulous finds and there's tons of room to walk around. I loved how it was spaced out. My husband and I bought a cute side table to go beside our couch at our apartment, a gurgle pot, and a cute seashell pillow for our couch. They'll paint a piece for you if you find a wood piece that you love elsewhere. I went here twice today just deciding on what to get and they're always getting new pieces in. They sell pieces by artists in the shop,, so you're bound to find something. There were tea towels, soaps, matted photos, and the list goes on. You could spend awhile just browsing and debating items.

After a few visits to Lemon Cabana I can share with you what this particular Virginia Beach store does right, and why it should be a model for others to emulate. My daughter has been a fan of the Oceanfront store for a few years primarily due to their selection of OnU necklaces which are very hot with not only young ladies but adult women as well. We have purchased a few of them and enjoyed browsing the store. The location off Laskin is one block from the Oceanfront and Atlantic Ave. Parking in their rear lot is FREE and the store can be accessed by a rear entrance. Parking in front is by meter. The store's walk up in front and back has been clean and neat. The business is situated on a short strip with a couple other businesses. I love the 60's retro feel of the building. Lemon carries home decor, ladies beach fashion, books and lots of unique items that you can't easily find else where. They are well known for a fantastic selection of costume jewelry. The store may be smallish, but it's packed with goodies. The feel is fresh, bright and service immediately welcoming. On every occasion there has been one of the two-three ladies ask if they can assist with no pressure to purchase. Yesterday while visiting my daughter wanted to purchase a OnU necklace. The inventory was depleted as a shipment is due in soon. Chic instructed us to follow their Instagram page which would announce the arrival of the shipment. My daughter happen to be wearing her OnU necklace and had a stubborn knot in it. Chic offered to work on it while we got lunch. Upon returning an hour later the knot was out to a happy young lady. No charge, just a very nice smile from Chic and will see you soon. This is first class service. Thank you Chic and Lemmon Cabana.

They are open every Saturday 9-noon (May-Oct) and every 3rd Saturday 9-noon (Nov-April). This is also a pet friendly market. Parking is street parking or there is a small free parking lot nearby. Old Beach farmers market has over 30 vendors each weekend. You can find fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, seafood, flowers, cheese, mushrooms, sauces, baked goods, tea and much more. You can even find a food truck. Some of my favorite Vendors are: Capstone Mushrooms, they always have a great selection of Oyster mushrooms (blue, pink, gold, king) , beech, Chestnut, lions Mane and shiitake. They sell grow kits if you want to try your hand at growing your own as well as extracts and blends you can add to your soups, sauces or drinks. Life is Gouda, they sell a variety of cheese based spreads. My favorite is the smoked gouda. It goes great with crackers, celery and carrots, a must try! Cromwell's Produce & Fritillary farm is my go to for fresh produce. This market does have a few produce vendors to choose from but I frequent these two the most. They always have fresh greens and fruits that are in season. Nick B's Chimichurri sells absolutely the best chimichurri sauce. It has a long shelf life and doesn't need to be refrigerated. This Sauce goes great on everything, steak, chicken, fish, lamb, even a chip. I find the prices to be very reasonable and comparable to the large chains. Definitely recommend stopping by and supporting small business and local farmers.

The young lady didn't make room for me to look, but hey, we're still kinda in the midst of COVID, so I made my way to an opposite wall where I looked at a shirt. It didn't have a price so I asked a second young lady, "How much?". She acted as though I was bothering her when she came over, looked at it, told me the price (without making any eye contact), and then went back behind the counter. That's when I noticed the first young lady, that was previously at the earrings, went behind the counter. The bell went off in my head, "oh she works here." It was at that moment, I said, "Let's go!" I realized they were both being rude and possibly didn't want "me" in the store. I was going to keep it to myself, but my friend said, "Wow she was rude." They must be raking in the bucks, so I'll spend my money somewhere else...and so will all my friends.
