This was my second time making a project and this time I chose a less intricate and word-y design because those take forever to prep and paint and remove the stencil detail. I made a large, framed wood sign and did ombre paint which turned out beautiful! My friend and I were the only gals on Thursday night so we had a lot of help and guidance from the gal inside who was so awesome and friendly. We made small-talk with her, caught up with each other, and enjoyed picking our colors and options. It takes the entire time no matter how fast or easy you think your design is, so plan for 3 hours minimum, but it flies by while you work on your project. They have all sorts of wood crafts you can choose, trays (small or large), signs of all shapes and sizes, dog bed frames, blankets, ladder shelves, etc. etc. Summer camps for kids are also starting so check it out! Located central to the oceanfront, close to the interstate, and has private parking in the back in the lot behind the store!

It was one of the best activities we did together. We enjoyed every minute of the class. The pricing was very reasonable especially for what we got. They really take pride in their product and made sure to handle our projects with care! The class was small which I loved. We were paid attention to closely and she was very helpful throughout the entire class. The little store front they have is so cute. So many cute products to purchase both their own and local artists and small businesses. Parking is easy. They are tucked back with a few other businesses. We plan to be back! Products take about 6-8 weeks to finish being made once you finish making the product.

We were greeted by Kathy the owner along w/ her husband who does all of the woodwork. Such a sweet couple and so accommodating. We were allowed to bring snacks so we had a charcuterie board, cooler w/ drinks, and a birthday cake! We were the only people booked for this day which was perfect. I'm pretty sure we overstayed our welcome but Kathy and her husband were totally chill. We all had such a great time and loved that we were able to take our crafts with us. With the husband doing all the wood work, they accommodate custom orders. I certainly plan on returning.

Took the bugger down to one of the local shops for framing suggestions and we went with our second choice -as the first was no longer available and so she tossed the related sample into the trashcan next to what looked like old tuna and a tomato that was sagging off the styrofoam container kind of like a cantankerous and unhappy old Chinese farmer whom was in the midst of uttering "uggh" ... but I digress, as the second choice frame turned our great and with the map in place the combo could have come straight from the US-Embassy Shanghai, China-circa 1920-something just as I had hoped. There were 9 of us in this session with room for 10. Everyone had their own wheel, apron, and 3 balls of clay. Angela was very inspirational. She shared her background story for us and I love that the number one rule is to not stress. When making pottery, it is your one and only focus or else your pottery will show and boy was that the truth. It was a great experience to just focus on being in the present. She took us through all the steps and I was a bit nervous I would forget them but she was hands on as needed and even had instructions on the board of each step. One practice round and two pieces to take home, I can't wait to see and use our finished products!

I'm so glad that we have a studio like this close to our place. We went here for my daughter's birthday party and they had a complete blast. Not necessarily my thing, but hey, I'm just the guy fronting the bill for a happy child. The pricing was very fair in my opinion and they did a great job of ensuring all the kids had fun and were coordinated (tough) in their work. The facility was quaint and just enough to be perfect for hosting the event and allowing customers to come in.
