Overall Satisfaction: This has hands down been the best customer service I've ever received. I can't say enough good things about Sorin, who has gone above and beyond to provide excellent care. I was especially pleased with the final check in and how detailed the inspection was, and especially how prompt the issues were remediated. As a first time homebuyer, I was pretty nervous going into the purchase. I rolled my eyes at the promises made to commit to the warranties. I was so pleasantly surprised when literally every defect was corrected and how easy it was to request service. Customer Care/Service Experience: Sorin deserves a raise! Several raises!!!! We have been so well taken care of. He's regularly gone out of his way to identity defects that my wife and I had missed. He's also been incredibly patient with our many questions and has provided us with incredible peace of mind. I would also like to recognize and thank Mikey and Jorge for their amazing touch ups. They were friendly and a pleasure to work with. Windows/Sliding Glass Doors: There is a LOUD ASS DOG that lives next door (in the other residential neighborhoods we share a border with). His name is Chico. Sometimes he barks all night. The windows pretty much block out 90% of the noise, which is pretty amazing. Plumbing System: Plumbing/toilets overall have been great. Water heats up pretty fast and stays hot. Only needed minor maintenance for one of the toilets where the water kept running, but Sorin was able to schedule a plumber to come fix it literally within days. My only comment is with the shower head in the jack/jill bathroom. Haven't had any issues, per se, but the water pressure and angle of the head is alright at best. That being said, it is the default model so I can't really complain. Cabinets & Drawers: Another shoutout to Sorin for getting us service to replace the underside of a cabinet that experienced shrinkage. Heating & Air Conditioning: Probably the best AC I've had. Left it running all summer without issue and with the solar panels the cost has been insanely low. Doors: No issues with the doors themselves but a lot of the frames were not sealed around the edges, which did let in ants during the summer (caulked?) However, pointed this out to Sorin and got it addressed pretty much immediately (thanks again to Mikey and Jorge). Garage door has been solid so far. Grading & Landscaping: It's been raining A LOT the last 2 weeks. Pleasantly surprised at how effective the french drain has been. Have experience literally zero flooding despite the relentless volume of water coming down. Positioning of the roof gutter/drain to the french drain excellent. Around the community, lot seems to be draining pretty damn well even for the houses that are downhill. Sound Transmission: 12/10 sound insulation. You can hear when neighbors are going up/down stairs in the garage but literally cant hear anything between our shared walls. Exterior Paint: Points off for the material that coats our outside walls and backyard walls, erodes pretty easily with minimal contact from our trashcans. The bottom of a section of our backyard walls has pretty much crumbled away. Appliances: Went with the default appliances. Nothing spectacular but overall pretty good. Expectations: The house wasn't perfect. There were definitely small things that the builders seemed to cut corners on (e.g., the door frames). That being said, overall the build was excellent and because of how good the customer service was (I have to shout out Sorin and team again), I am extremely satisfied with the product. read more

I previewed the newest development Rose Walk in Garden Grove recently and the staff is very friendly and welcoming with their presentations of the 15 detached single family three story homes . I liked the model home with the flex space and options of having the powder room turned into a full bath with stand up shower . I liked the windows with many angles to see the pretty trees . Today is VIP day for those who get pre approved with their two lenders one with Wells Fargo and the other US Bank . I think local infill homes is nicer than going further out as Garden Grove according to Politician Tri Ta has like I think 11 schools celebrated for higher standards . I personally would love to have an all electric home with Cat 9 wiring and Beatiful Open Floor Plan for the second level Great Room and Family Meeting Fun Space . The house can be upgraded if you put down a deposit and get your 15 percent towards the wanted uogrades . 1 year review. DO NOT BUY PROPERTY FROM OLSEN COMPANY! We were told by the general contractor that built our community that they rushed it. He openly admitted they cut corners when we did our walk through. Let that sink in. We then spent the next year finding basics messed up. Studs not properly spaced, plumbing problems, garage is too small for a single car larger than an old corolla. All of this when you cant see your property because, well they havent built it yet. The house has a slew of issues still but the most impactful is that they used cast iron....thats right... cast iron for the plumbing. We have had plumbers come and give us feedback that they have NEVER seen cast iron in anything not many decades old. So now the problem we have is that basic TP is getting snagged on the cast iron, building up and blocking the entire townhome. Every 4 months like clockwork. So after a year you will be on your own fully even though they spout that they will be around for 10 years. Olsen hasn't stepped up to fix their botched rushed jobs Our neighbor had to have the whole lower plumbing replaced in their garage a few months ago. There are massive problems all over the community but the company partners with the property management company to keep themselves on the board til the last minute (accepting the state of the property for the community on behalf of themselves) and you are stuck with whats left when you elect your own board. We are getting on the board and will consider our next steps. If you buy property from this company, get it in writing as to what standards they are building the property to. Stud gaps, plumbing materials...etc. To Olsen if you read this. You cut corners that are not necessary. For what you make on these homes, you don't need to mess up the basics. We are really hoping you lean into supporting your clients as you talk about. So far its not how you say the relationship should be and we have been hyper patient. read more

I would never buy a home from Olson again. I bought a Condo from them in 2010. Compton Willow Walk. I would steer clear from them. I will also never buy a home in a HOA again. Oh and the real estate agent lied about us getting that parking lot next to the community. I would call her out but what's the use. This company is the absolute worst. They are very unprofessional and they do not care about their homeowners. They sent someone to fix our roof, but they did nothing at all and they still charged us ! They refuse to help us with this issue and that was very unethical. The person that came to fix the roof, did not say anything to us and just left without saying a single word to us. We don't even know what they even "fixed". Do not buy from this company! Carlos at Flora Walk was a pleasure to tour the models homes with he was polite and had alot of knowledge about the area. The Flora Walk town houses in Torrance are beautiful. In 2016 my wife and I purchased a Los Angeles County home from Olson in a gated community called Encanto Walk. We were one of the first home buyers. We watched Olson build all the streets and homes on what was originally a 9 acre field of dirt. Their niche seems to be converting commercially zoned urban areas into a quality residential community of homes. It seems they mostly build townhouses but also have some regular single family homes too. Our experience with Olson has been terrific from start to finish. This company is managed very well. It's important to them for homeowners to be happy and stay happy with their purchase. After the sale Olson hosted a dinner so all the new homeowners could meet each other. They've also hosted a few lunches like this since the close of escrow. I believe Olson typically remains involved with the HOA for 10 years after the last home is sold. If you visit one of their many communities you can observe the high quality in their planning, design, and build out. This is the second house i am buying and i am really disappointed with all the proces really bad customer service, poor quality. If you buying a house with this company make sure you don't sign the scrow untill all the imperfeccion are correct becase after that all they just play dam. My wife and I purchased our home with Olson in Buena Park. A little community named Aldea Walk. I had many fears purchasing a new home because i have heard horror stories from my friends and family with "other" builders. What I noticed about The Olson Company is, they have a stream line process and a business operating model that is above par from what I have seen with other builders. It's not just their customer service and quality of the homes they build, it's the post move-in and operations and follow ups that impressed me the most. I was pleasantly surprised how i was involved with the build process of our new home from frame work until the final reveal of my finished home. It truly felt like a dream show on HGTV. What I can say about The Olson Company is they are proactive vs reactive. They provide us with "useful" information on proper maintenance of our AC and water/heater units. They scheduled periodic reviews after move in, orientation, and basically covered all the bases to let us just enjoy our new home and build a community with our neighbors. Olson not only focuses on building quality homes, they also focus in building a community. It's amazing that our Aldea Walk community has become a family. My family and I could not be more pleased with Olson and I would recommend anyone looking for a new home, they look into purchasing a new home from The Olson Company. read more
