Called and asked for a Unitzed W/D set. Person on the phone told me there are no unitzed unit. She has been working in this industry for 40 Yrs..Told me they don't call them unitized in Muskegon.. what does this say written by metropolitan tech lg sent out to service our fridge since it was under warranty. it says the work olson's did on my lg refrigerator voided my warranty so now rather than getting our fridge fixed for free because we paid for the warranty , we just went out and spent $3k on a new fridge since the tech lg approved to come out from metropolitan appliance repair stated your tech tapped into the wrong side breaking the seal of rhe closed system. so since your company ruined and voided my warranty are you going to be sending me a check in the mail? or will you call metropolitans appliance repair and lg and work it out between the 3 of you? because i can promise you someone, other than me will be paying for this fridge - and thats a horse you can bet $100 on!!! read more

Had tech come out to look at my mom's clothes dryer- the drum rotated but the dryer was not getting warm. Tech came out and examined the appliance and then left. We were expecting a quote but got no call- tech came back a few days later and did something but dryer still not heating up. Still no word on problem or cost. What we DO NOT WANT is for repairs to start approaching what the cost of just getting a new dryer would be- so NO MORE work on it without a quote. Similar to other reviewers, we got the complete runaround. We were told we needed a new part and they would call us in a couple days when it came in. A week passed, nothing. Another week, nothing. We called them and they said, "oh yes! It did come in. We could bring it tonight!" And just never showed up. We call them again. Same thing. Finally someone did come out. He fixed it, I guess? But then asked us to pay again even though I already had the receipt from pre-paying the first time. And he tried to charge way more than what was already agreed upon. 8 months ago I had Eric come out and had a wonderful experience. Fast forward to a few weeks ago. Had the same problem with my washer, took a week but Eric was able to come out (on 8/22) and replace a part. Apparently didn't test the washer afterwards because that same day we tried to use it and now shakes out of control. Called Monday (8/24) and was told maybe Tuesday (8/25) but most likely Friday (8/28). Fine. Gave them my wife's phone number, they already had mine and never received a phone call, and never showed. Called Saturday at 11am when they opened (8/29 Today) and was told "oh yeah, we missed a service call yesterday. Sorry about that. We'll be out today. He has another appointment in your area." Called again at 2pm (because they close at 3pm) and double checked if they were coming out and was asked "are you willing to take a late service call? Eric will be out between 4-6:30pm tonight." Once again, no call, no show. All I want is an honest answer. Are you actually coming out? Am I doing something wrong? Is my money not good enough? Is it possible for you to call someone back? I'm overly frustrated as my washer has been broke now for over two weeks, I've paid to get it fixed, I've called and called and called and never received a call back. How do you run a business like this? I hate giving bad reviews and I'd love to talk to the woman who schedules appointments but there's no one to take my phone call now, and I don't really expect a call back since that doesn't seem to be a service they provide. read more

Our first experience with Olson's repair service was a great one. We got same day service and the repair person went above our expectation leaving us with a sense that quality service is still alive and well in Muskegon. We highly recommended there service to anyone who even hinted at the need for appliance repair...that was roughly 2 years ago. More recently our washing machine needed (and still does) a fix so naturally we contacted, at that time, our favorite repair service and found that quality once offered has left the building. And after several attempts at repair, 4 appointments, 3 repair men, 2 no call/no shows and a half dozen phone calls later we are out 1 washing machine, hundreds of dollars and needless to say the sense of having a place to count on is once again gone with the winds of change. Its unfortunate and they will be missed but alas this reviewer can only offer 2 stars weighing in the past and present, their will be no future for us and Olson's. Worst customer service ever! I purchased a stainless steel fridge in June 2020. I was happy to shop local, and support a small business during Covid. The fridge was delivered the next day. That's where my satisfaction ends. When the Olsen brother delivered the fridge, he put a huge crease in the door by trying to squeeze it through my kitchen doorway. (If the would have taken the door off, the fridge would have fit just fine). The Olsen brother told my husband and I he was "feeling off" because his band played out the night before and he was shaking off a hangover. This would explain trying to cut corners on the delivery. He also told his sister, who I purchased the fridge from, and who works the front desk that the door was dented from the manufacturer. At first I was told they would order me a new door, but because of Covid, it wouldn't be in until September. My husband and I were willing to wait and were understanding due to the circumstances. September came and went, then December.... now it is March of 2021. Several phone calls were made inquiring on the door. One time we got an apology, and was told they "forgot". It's unfortunate that this is how these two conduct business since Olson's has been in the community for decades. What a way to ruin a family name. read more

Dryer stopped working. Tech came out. Very nice fellow and personable. Told us part would take 4-5 days to get. Week later, no call so we called them. They were like "hasn't come in yet" and a "meh" attitude. Meanwhile we don't have a dryer for 2 weeks now..since it took 4 days to get the tech out. Another week goes by with no call so I just ordered the part and put it in myself. Still no call back. Went over 3 weeks without a dryer. Many places to get this part I found. I won't use again which is too bad. I liked the tech...maybe he quit? Not very good customer service. read more

Terrific family business with wonderful service. You can trust these people. They were very good to my mother in law over the years as issues came up with her stove, television -- and they even set up a wall unit for her when she had to go to a nursing home. And when she moved homes, they came in and took the television down for us and set it up again in her new place. I highly recommend this business. Adding: that stove that mother in law needed earlier on was customized to fit into the space she had in her 100-year-old home. It had to be built up to match the height of the cabinets, but they did it beautifully. It was the Olson's son Eric who did the work. It feels good to have an appliance store that you can count on in Muskegon. read more

Exceptionally friendly staff, went above and beyond to locate hard to find part. Prices were unbeatable.

I was having trouble with a fairly new washer not draining. Olson's came out and replaced the shifter. Didnt solve the problem. They came back and said that shifter was bad too. Came back a third time to replace shifter and decided the computer was bad. I called Maytag and found out it was still under warranty. Maytag came out, did a diagnostic on machine and my capacitor was missing. Not the shifter or computer that Olsons had stated was bad! I called and then went to get my part. They claim they took it out to test it (without informing me). After the capacitor was put back in, the Maytag tech pulled my hose out of the drain. Said it was in too far. That's it! That's all!!!!! Not to mention Olson's scheduled me a couple of times within a time frame and didn't show. When I contacted them the said, each time, "oh, did we give you a specific time?" The last time they came out, the weren't there within the time frame so I drove to the store because they weren't answering the phone. I stated I had an appt. The lady said "Eric!" Eric then said I knew we had to go out but I didn't know there was a certain time. Wth!!! Horrible experience!! Lack of knowledge!! Very unprofessional!! read more

Our dryer was not working. Called Olson's. They had a service tech out the next day. We also had the tech look at the ice maker on our refrigerator/freezer. We decided not to fix the ice maker since we had already had it replaced once and didn't want to spend more fixing a faulty product. Apparently ice makers are notoriously prone to failure. Anyway, we had the tech diagnose the dryer. It turned out to be a failed coil. The part had to be ordered. It was fixed 2 days later. Total cost, with the ice maker evaluation was ~ $160.00. My only comment in any negative regard was the tech. He was not a friendly or personable guy. I guess that isn't the most important thing in the bigger scheme of things, but he seemed "annoyed" or "put out" that he was asked to simply do his job. I tried to make pleasant conversation with him, but it wasn't easy. Maybe he had just had a bad day? All in all I am happy with the outcome. read more

Excellent service! So thankful to have discovered Eric Olson. I feel complete trust in Eric Olson's ability, honesty and integrity. I have hired countless repair professionals for a variety of jobs over the years, some good, a few great, but many that have disappointed, due to either pricing where I felt taken advantage of, or for substandard work with no warranty, and even some that did the work wrong, or left other repair needs in the wake of their work.
