My husband and I decided to go for a beach wedding in Mexico. We visit Rocky Point frequently and decided this was the perfect paradise for us, not to mention weddings in Mexico can be much more affordable than say, Los Angeles. As full time professionals in the US, we honestly did not want to learn how to coordinate a wedding with our own. Finding a professional local expert was a must. We interviewed a few coordinators and as soon as we met Olimpia, we knew we found our girl. Luckily for us, she resides at the resort she represents which is lovely, low key, yet elegant. Olimpia is the type of person I would recruit to work for me. She was authentically enthusiastic about the wedding and making our dreams come true. She was inclusive with my family the instant we met her. She showed us all the options the resort had to offer, and fantastic ideas for the wedding with in the 15 minutes of meeting her! We got on board. Let me say, I asked all the right questions like, what doesn't the wedding packet include, and what are biggest mistakes brides make.. Needless to say, Olimpia is the professional and covered any concerns I had. My husband and I decided to take a back seat approach and trust her recommendations such as, dates based on weather out there, band for our live music, food etc. And WOW!! Our wedding planning was to a very min, because even what the package didn't include, Olimpia found a way to make it happen and coordinate pretty much everything for us at a very fair price. We had nothing to do except invite people to the wedding. It was effortless which is key for our busy lives in LA. Many of our guests had never even been to Mexico and some were scared, the drive is long, but pretty much all our guest made our wedding their Mexico vacation and when they arrived, they were amazed!! Some even extended their stay. Most drove around town and the malecon, which is the main strip with shops, restaurants, bars along the beach. Thanks to Olimpia and The Sonoran Sky Resort, most of our guests took advantage of the reduced prices for the rooms and did everything from this amazing location! Being that there was so much Rocky Point has to offer, we didn't have to entertain anyone, instead we joined different people as they were enjoying their vacation exploring and relaxing! Oh by the way, the rooms are actually condos, fully furnished, individually owned condos. Your guests can cook at the location and have a glass of wine while taking in the incredible views. Our wedding experience was amazing, none of us had to fuss about the wedding details. Instead we got be emotionally and mentally present at our wedding. I know it sounds basic, but so many people try to take on wedding tasks that when the moment arrives, many are distracted by what's missing or didn't go as planned instead of kissing and hugging and dancing and taking in each moment, recording it in their hearts for ever.. My husband and I shared many special memories and celebrations in Rocky Point and decided it was the perfect place for us to tie the knot. We planned a trip and visited many of the large resorts and met with a few different wedding planners. Olimpia impressed us from the moment we met her! She's friendly, over the top helpful, and you can truly feel her passion for her career. Being from Arizona and having very busy professional and social lives we didn't have a ton of time or interest in planning all of the details. Olimpia did an amazing job communicating with us via email on options for flowers, cake, decorations etc. and we had a couple of planning meetings at the beautiful Sonoran Sky which was a great excuse for a weekend get away. I felt 100% confident in Olimpia and the entire staff at the Sonoran Sky who repeatedly made us feel welcome and comfortable. When the wedding day arrived I honestly felt like our invite list and my dress were the only things I had to concern myself with throughout the entire process. The wedding weekend was one for the record books! We had a blast on a boat cruise with our closest friends, a fun relaxing beach day and rehearsal dinner, and then a beach ceremony and reception that was absolutely beautiful. It was truly our dream wedding and it was so wonderful spending the whole weekend with friends and family knowing that Olimpia and her amazing staff including a hair/ makeup crew and photographer/ videographer had everything in order for us. My daughter was married on April 23, 2016 at Sonora Sky and Olympia Watson was her wedding planner. Olympia is truly amazing. She made my daughter's wedding the perfect day and her dream of getting married on the beach came true. Olympia helped her through the entire process by advising her on the selection of flowers, decorations, cake, food, drinks and a beautiful light up dance floor. Olympia is very approachable, friendly, an incredibly hard worker. Her smile is contagious and she is a joy to work with.
