Amazing first-ever stay at Peñasco del Sol! Booked the king…read moresuite with beach view and balcony, which is a one-bedroom with a pull-out sofa in the living room. Room was large and very clean; bed must have been a California king (since it was bigger than my king-sized bed). Kitchen area had a decent sized mini-fridge with an actual freezer, and a microwave. Interior walls are concrete/stucco, so I would imagine rooms are quiet even during the busy season. Our balcony was really only deep enough for standing room, not sure this is true for all rooms, but that was the only down-side. View was spectacular. All the staff was extremely friendly, and the bell person was especially informative. The included breakfast offered fairly minimal but well rounded selections; portions were ample--and delicious! They also offer an additional (paid) breakfast menu. Another on-site restaurant off of the casino area (La Arena 3C) was suuuuper good with amazing specials and happy hour pricing. On Taco Tuesday: three shrimp tacos and a chicken taco; three mini-quesadillas; a large bottle of jamaica aqua fresca; a beer; and a dessert special with two carajillos (coffee cocktails) and a small cake all came to $26.04. Ridiculous. We obviously ate there twice. There's a cute little "beach" area on the property just past the pool that overlooks the sea and has tables with umbrellas and lounge chairs, or daybeds. All with food/drink service. Perfect lounging (napping?) area. Since we were only visiting for two days we never left the resort property, and were perfectly happy with what was available to us. There is a drug store just across the street for water and other needs, but we brought all our own. Can't wait to come back and stay here again and explore the town!

Customer service was horrible. We paid almost 4K for 2 deluxe rooms and 2 master suite. They refuse to give me all 4 rooms and only gave me 3. Refuse to refund me . We requested lower levels or at least all In the same floor as we were traveling as a family ,we got them 1 in the 5th floor 3rd floor and second floor. At check out said they never took a deposit and they had taken $480 but couldn't find it . Literally every part of the stay was terrible . They said they didn't have valet parking but the guy outside said if we pay tune $500 pesos that he can tell receptionist to give it to us and then paid $30 each car for valet . I been staying at this hotel plenty of times in the past . Absolutely will never stay here again. Not sure how it changed so much in 1 month since our last stay was in early June of this year and in July it's totally changed. Never never never again!!!!

The view was amazing, the 3 bedroom condo we stayed in was one of the nicest rooms we have had in this resort. We had daily cleaning service, fully stocked modern kitchen and our master bedroom was very spacious with a jet bathtub, walk in shower for 2, and a nice size closet. Our daughters had a nice bedroom with private bathroom, they had 2 queen size beds in there bedroom. Only issue was the master bedroom was warm and could not get the room to cool down. Wifi is sketch but just got to reconnect every few hours.

ROCKY POINT TRAVEL WARNING: Avoid Condo Topaz B907 at Las Palomas Phase 1…read more Hey everyone, I wanted to share a major warning so no one else has their vacation ruined. We recently booked Condo Topaz B907 at Las Palomas Phase 1, and it was completely uninhabitable due to a horrific, overpowering odor inside the room. Even the resort housekeeper openly admitted to us that the room has a chronic, terrible smell and that the administration is fully aware of the issue. Yet, instead of fixing the problem or pulling the room from the rental pool, management continues to book it and charge premium rates to unsuspecting guests. We had to get Expedia involved to rescue us and move us to another resort (Esmeralda) because Las Palomas refused to properly handle it. To make matters worse, Las Palomas management refused to refund our $212.00 resort fee, which we paid in cash. They fraudulently claimed that WE were the ones canceling the stay, completely ignoring the fact that we were forced to flee a defective room. They stole our cash fee for amenities we never used. Save yourself the headache, smell, and stress. Avoid this dishonest resort and specifically refuse unit Topaz B907! If you must stay at Las Palomas DEMAND a different unit if they try to assign you to Topaz B907!!

Unfortunately in that mean time, massacres happened to 9 women & children on the same stretch of road that would require us to get to our reservation from Arizona. We felt highly unsafe & requested to cancel 8 weeks prior to our reservation date. They refused to cancel the reservation thru Airbnb, refused a refund & then had the NERVE to charge my account another $170 after I ASKED & BEGGED for a cancellation & refund for the $213 they already kept. Now my account is overdrawn & they just NOW canceled my stay thru Airbnb. This place is obviously a scam!

We were going to arrive pretty late and so we called her to see if we could still check in that late. She said she would stay awake for us. She also provided us with cold bottled water when we arrived and filled some bowls with fresh water for our pups. One of our dogs also totally fell in love with Diane. She even gave us some limes from her own kitchen for our beers! Diane rocks. The inn's architecture and interior is adorably unique and quirky. I've never seen anything like it. The rooms are super cute and there is also a shared upstairs patio with couches and chairs. That's where we watched the sunset. Beautiful. Everything is very clean and well maintained as well. And our room had AC. The location is great as well. You are right by a water front with a strip of shops and restaurants. At night, apparently, there's lots of partying going on but with the dogs we didn't really look into that. We had lunch at the blue marlin, ice cream at thrifty, and breakfast at jungle juice, all of which was very good. There's no beach within walking distance, though. Prices are reasonable. We paid about $170 for two nights. I would recommend this inn to anyone and plan to come back.

Requested repairs but neither issue was successfully fixed. 2nd night, same problems plus toilet flooded into main room. Smelled awful. Waited 2+ hours for room change. In room phone was inoperable for 3rd time. Hotel phones in corridors also inoperable. So frustrating! No choice but get dressed at 11:00 pm and personally request hotel manager. Manager, Ingrid, was gracious, apologetic, professional and expedited our room switch. Thank you Ingrid. Family pools were filthy cloudy already in morning and pool floors rough, broken and jagged. Adult only,"priority guest" pool was a pleasant reprieve with seemingly cleaner water. I've had the good fortune to travel often and to many destinations around the world. So, I didn't expect the Ritz or the Westin, but did anticipate a fairly decent experience at a Hilton resort. Hands down, this was most unpleasant accommodation out of the hundreds I've been blessed to enjoy. Would have moved to another hotel if not for the wedding. The wedding itself was lovely and located on a platform at a quiet corner of the resort over the sea All-inclusive resorts can be fantastic, but this one is so "long in the tooth" , it must have a 100% renovation to be serviceable. SHAME ON HILTON!

We have been coming to Rocky Point for the past five years, and have exclusively stayed at the…read moreSonoran Sky Resort. We chose this resort specifically for the heated bar pool, which is the only comfortable swimming option year-round. However, after this experience, we will not be returning here. We traveled here with our 2 year old son and are currently expecting another baby. The heated pool is a necessity for us, as young children cannot safely regulate their body temperature in the other "upper" pools, which are unheated, frigidly cold and not surprisingly almost always empty. In all our years coming here, children and adults have coexisted in the heated lower pool without issue. There was never a "nuisance" problem. This year, as my toddler was about to get in, we were stopped by security and told he wasn't allowed. The only sign posted states that children under 3 must wear a swim diaper. Our son was wearing one. When my husband addressed this with management, he was told it is a "new rule" that children are banned from the only heated pool on the property. Telling a family with a toddler (and soon an infant) to use the unheated pools is dismissive and medically soundless. Next year, when we have a 6 month old, we won't be able to use any pool on the property because the resort refuses to heat the family-accessible areas. This arbitrary rule has effectively ruined our vacation. If you are traveling with small children who need a comfortable water temperature, do not stay here. Sonoran Sky has made it clear that they no longer value families here. We will be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

Our stay at the Best Western Laos Mar Hotel & Suites allowed us to make the most of our stay's enjoyment. Just 10 minutes from Old Town Puerto Peñasco, the location is super convenient, very accommodating with more than enough relaxing activities for a wonderful time of leisure. With our opportunities to recurrently stay at many accommodations across and occasionally outside the country, and not a professional hotel reviewer, and not a regular business traveler - just a pleasure and needs traveler, I have established what I think is a concise technique for scoring the worthiness of each inn visited. My criteria are as follows and the results are: 1) ease of access to and from public or private ground transportation [Score: 4.0]; 2) convenient and safe parking [Score : 4.0]; 3) access, accuracy and convenience of check in and check out [Score: 3.8]; 4) atmosphere, ambience, public facilities, lounging areas and access to an office center and Wi-Fi access [Score: 4.0]; 5) overall customer service - including but not limited to Hospitality, Support Services, Concierge knowledge, communication, attitude and demeanor of staff [Score: 4.2]; 6) quality, cleanliness, value, convenience, amenities (i.e., ironing board, iron, TV, charging access, phone, et.al.) and comfort of rooms, beds, room safe and/or valet services [Score: 3.5]; Taking all the aforementioned categories in a scale of 1 star to 5 stars with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best a hotel can be! This hotel rates a: 4.6. Most positive points at this hotel are: not only a great pool and lounging area, picnic spots, plenty of umbrellas but they are literally beach front, albeit a slight walk, there is a magnificent waterfront white sand beach to quietly enjoy. Most negative points found here are: is a slight feel of isolation because of its location yet creating a very quiet environment. My price to value to overall assessment: excellent.
