I've had issues recently with a prescription sent in by my civilian provider not being received by NHB's system. Stephanie, one of the NHB pharmacists, has gone above and beyond to try to resolve the problem - even spending significant time coordinating with my doctor's office directly to work out the problem. Aside from the great care I've received from the pharmacy staff, I have to say that I love the convenience of the Rx text system. I've picked up prescriptions from both in-person at the Bangor pharmacy and at NHB's ScriptCenter in the parking garage. Both have been such great experiences! I have to say, though, that I love the NHB ScriptCenter most because it allows me to pick our stuff up 24/7. Considering that I'm working during pharmacy hours, this is the most unbelievably convenient setup. Every base pharmacy everywhere should utilize it. Overall, we really love NHB. We haven't had any issues mentioned in other reviews. Medical staff have been great, pharmacy staff are excellent, and the hospital's location is great. Not to mention that NHB is gorgeous and the view is epic. Would highly recommend!

I am a military spouse who delivered at this…read morefacility, and what I experienced was the worst medical care with beyond serious medical negligence I have ever received -- and I have had a successful C-section at another hospital, so I have a clear point of comparison. From the start I was dismissed, manhandled, and subjected to racist treatment. The anesthesiologist attempted my epidural five times while joking around and flirting with the nurse instead of focusing on the procedure. After he failed repeatedly, I told staff I could still feel everything and could still move -- I was ignored. I was then made to push against a closed cervix for four hours, which resulted in an emergency C-section that could have been avoided with basic competent care. During that C-section, I again told them I could feel. I was again dismissed. They began cutting while I was fully conscious and in complete agony. I was screaming on the table. I nearly died. At no point was I given informed consent -- for anything -- regarding myself or my baby. My newborn went two days without food because no one assisted me with breastfeeding or formula after major abdominal surgery. I had to physically get up and yell at staff before anyone helped. I scored a 16 on the postpartum depression screening following all of this. I was offered nothing -- no resources, no referral, no follow-up. When I raised concerns and mentioned legal action, a staff member told me to lift my shirt in the waiting room as a "check." They then refused to schedule my 6-week postpartum appointment entirely because I was 5 minutes early instead of 10. My c section scar actually opened and got infected. To this day, they are withholding my medical records -- which is a violation of federal law. I will be pursuing legal action regardless. I am sharing this so other military families know what they may face. What happened to me and my baby was not a series of mistakes -- it was a systemic failure of every standard of care, decency, and patient rights. I will keep posting this as people deserve to be warned. I will make all local news outlets aware as this is not getting addressed & I will seek legal action as they have over years refused to do anything to redeem themselves and this has deeply affected my health and wellbeing. This establishment should close it's doors as it is unacceptable for a place meant to heal people to be grounds for such horrors.

She investigated my symptoms thoroughly and listened to all my medical concerns. Both me and my husband have seen her for treatment and were very satisfied with the care we received. My examinations included endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy and my husband had a colonoscopy. All of these procedures were conducted flawlessly. It's hard to find doctors like Dr. Parker. We highly recommend her. Also, the facility is very clean and the nurses and staff are all kind, helpful and patient.

I had to request pre-op instructions to be sent to me after they claimed they mailed them, well they did not. I get a text message saying I need to pick up the stuff I had to drink, well can't do that without prescription, and then I find out the physician is female for which I am not comfortable with, male doctors should only be attending male patients. I don't want some strange woman looking at my privates, I'm married thank you very much. Frankly, the better part of me finds the whole thing rather uncomfortable and embarrassing really. Above all, I had to cancel twice seeing as no one can get message once. Canceled it and choosing possibly another place that doesn't expect patients to do their job. I'm 46, I thought this was recommended for 50 and older? I suppose it could be any age but I haven't seen a thing on where this has changed.
