My husband and I took our 12 and 16 year old kids here and had a blast. Seeing such a wide variety of animals close up was a rare treat. We went in the morning and our first drive through the park was excellent. You can go around again for free, which we did, but it was much busier then and there were lots of cars (spring break). It's not ideal seeing some animals in captive conditions, especially the wolves and other predators that are designed to travel distance every day. But these animals had no where else to go. They were not purchased, they were coming from various bad situations. They all have to live somewhere and I think the game farm does a good job providing for the animals. I spoke at length with the woman in the gift shop she was able to share insight and perspective on the animals at the game farm. Very friendly staff, good family activity. read more

I'm so incredibly sad after leaving Olympic Game Farm. The poor animals I saw I cannot get out of my mind. As a volunteer of an accredited zoo I am ashamed of myself for going here. This is not a zoo. This is a living hell for animals. The animals do not look healthy or have the proper space. I had to turn around and leave after seeing the cats and wolves crammed into a space that wasn't suitable even for my corgi. The poor deer and Elk are swimming in shit so bad they can't even walk hardly. I didn't even want my car driving through there I can't imagine how they feel. Outside of that these poor animals probably feel terrible living on cheap bread. I'm sure this joint will say they feed them a well balanced diet, but I can't imagine how this can be good for them even my dogs vet has him on a grain free diet!!! read more

This was so much FUN! The animals actually put their heads in your car to get the bread from you. My children and I giggled the whole time. I suggest buying bread there at the Farm as opposed to purchasing it at a store. You might not purchase the right kind which the animals can eat. The Game Farm has such a good price on their bread, it saves you money in the long run. We went through 2 times, since your pass is good for all day. It is just as wonderful the second time. They have a lovely petting farm at the entrance, which is fun for the kids. They also have a museum and samples of animal fur, such a large cats, that you can feel. It is a good price considering all that you can do on your day pass. Be prepared to get a bit dirty and your car to get a little dirty as well but it is worth it! read more

We had such a great time here!! My husband and I went with our 2 year old and everyone had a blast! It's definitely on the expensive side, we paid $28 for the 3 of us (our daughter was free, and they have a military discount but it only applies to the active duty member). I'd say it's more worth it if you go there early in the day and go around multiple times (the admission is for all day, as many rounds as you want), but regardless, it's an expensive activity. At first I was unsure if we really needed bread or not, and the answer is YES, you definitely need to buy the bread, it makes the whole experience! We got 2 loaves and I thought that was way too much before we started - we had to be sparse towards the end and ran out before we finished so I would say at least 1 loaf per person. We went later in the day, around 230/3pm, and we started the path behind a car that was feeding every animal at least 2 slices of bread, it was ridiculous. Bread was flying out every window, and instead of moving along they just kept feeding and feeding so by the time we got to every animal, they wouldn't even touch our bread. It was super sad for our daughter who kept begging the animals to take her bread! So finally my husband drove around to a different path, not behind them, and we actually got to feed the animals too! Once we got in front of them, all the animals wanted our bread and we had a blast! So even if you go later in the day, we still went through 2 loaves and wish we had 3!! It would have been even crazier had we gone early in the day I'm sure. Be careful of the bison and definitely don't bring a car you wouldn't want to possibly get scratched. It does happen!! Follow the directions on where not to stop, so many people don't listen when the directions say to clearly not stop in certain places! They had to have a worker come out and talk to every car because people were obviously not following directions on the day that we were there. The gift shop is actually very reasonably priced, and they do have tables where you can bring your own lunch and eat or buy their food that they sell there. read more

This place has its ups and downs. Unfortunately, the bad outweighs the good in our experience at the Olympic Game Farm. Our visit: 2/18/12 (3pm) They allow you to feed the animals an unlimited amount of wheat bread. Started out good, lots of cute rabbits and peacocks roaming free. You drive up a hill to be greeted by gophers, cutely popping their heads out of their little holes in the ground. Then to the yaks -- really cute. Didn't think much of yaks until I was able to feed them a slice of wheat bread... very funny stuff, the way they take your bread ever-so-gently from your hands and into their mouths. Llamas, zebras, deer and eagles all had an adequate space to roam freely among each other's company -- all seemed pretty ok. Although I had no idea that that they ALL shared an appetite for wheat bread? Seemed unhealthy and very unnatural, but went with it... because the folks at OGF know what they're doing, right? (Sidenote: They should add seagulls to their list of animals... because they swarm the place. ) Much like a horror movie, where everything starts out peachy-keen then quickly goes downhill... then came the famous "waving bears" that I have heard so much about. Saw the first bear - cute. Not a waver, but still cute. This is where I started getting suspicious. So many bears.... so little spaces! And low fences, with electric wires surrounding them. Lots of muddy puddles for bears to lay in, and trash cans filled with nasty water. Artificial "dens" are big enough for one bear at a time. No real stimulus within the "habitats" or more like cages. Most of the bears seemed out of it, wasting away, hopped up on cheap wheat bread. THEN CAME THE CARNIVORE SECTION. What do African Lions, Siberian Tigers, Bengal Tigers, Bobcats, Cougar, Lynx, Coyotes, Wolves and Arctic Fox all have in common? THEY ALL GET TO GO INSANE IN IDENTICAL, TINY, CAGED-IN 'HABITATS' THAT THE 'RESCUERS' OF THE OLYMPIC GAME FARM HAVE PROVIDED THEM WITH. These poor carnivores are all confined in less-than-adequate areas where they are able to pace back and forth neurotically day in and day out, sharing a fence as a wall with other species of their own kind. Especially wolves, social animals who naturally live in packs, are neglected of social interaction. That goes for lions also. THESE ANIMALS COME FROM VERY DIFFERENT NATURAL HABITATS. The "caretakers" at Olympic Game Park don't seem to care. I'm sure they are outsmarting the Arctic Fox into thinking he's at home in the the Arctic tundra biome in his tiny cage with an even tinier pen with hay. Also the same jail cell that the lions get to compare to their home in Sub-Saharan Africa. But I guess if you drug the animals up enough, they'll believe anything right? Roofie-Coladas are probably coursing through their bloodstream. And what a shame that the Bengal Tiger is an endangered species, with only 2,500 of them left in the world -- that one of them is sadly living out his life of pacing back and forth in a tiny cell in Sequim, WA. Might as well be dead. None of these animals in these jail cells are able to run, as they would do in the wild, getting up to full speed to stretch their legs. Their bodies, I'm sure are all slowly wasting away. Did I mention the lack of mental stimuli for any of these animals? What's play? No play time for the animals at the OGF. Especially for the poor carnivore section. Nothing to jump on, hide under... they are constantly exposed to cars passing by. Nowhere to go, nothing to do. Felt a lot less sorry for the elks, but still weird to see a backyard full of roaming buffalo, herd of elk, one mangy emaciated horse and other small animals with no trees, or differentiation in terrain (no slopes, hide outs). Seriously, their habitat is a backyard. I would never recommend this dungeon of a place to anybody -- because it's obvious that most of the money does not go back to the animals. THE CARNIVORE SECTION SHOULD BE CLOSED DOWN and the animals in this section should be taken to wildlife refuges or at least put in the hands of people who know what they are doing. Again, the yaks were pretty great. But I would gladly give up hand-feeding yaks forever to see all animals be treated with respect and dignity. read more

This place is TERRIBLE, the bears have teeth rotting out of their mouths, their eyes look welded shut with eye boogers, some even looked like they were going blind, the bears sit there waiting for you to throw them wheat bread with no clean water in sight, they seem hungry as if they are denies food so they are hungry for the tourist to throw them bread. My husband and I took our daughter and granddaughter there last week. It is overpriced, $54. For the four of us. I was not impressed, actually quite upset at the conditions. The caged animals were depressing, small kennels with weeds, and makeshift shelters. Some of the cages didn't have signs to know what the name of the animal was. You generally keep your pack of dogs well fed. And, when the neighbor's cat happens to cross your property, well, it's a bonus meal for your puppies and one less cat in the world. Hop in your 1/2 ton pickup with a custom lift kit and head to Sequim. But, leave the guns at home, partner, the animals here are already cornered. Stop by the local Bakery Outlet for some bread and arrive ready for good times. Skip the "petting zoo" because you won't be able to control your impulse to slay one of the bunnies. Drive right into the park. Now you're talking -- no hiking, no sleeping in tents for days on end looking for wildlife -- just wild animals as far as you can see. Don't forget to take the Confederate flag antenna ball off before you arrive. One of those danged llamas is likely to eat it. Between feeding bears and other animals, you'll swear you are in Africa. There is a real rhinocerous just feet away. Good thing they brought one to Washington State or you might have to leave the U.S. of A. to see one this close -- unthinkable. Enter the caged animal exhibit. All your favorite animals are right where you want them, pacing in cages twenty feet away and easily spotted from your pickup. Drive on to the hooved mammal park but don't reach for your gun rack just yet. These animals aren't in season. See for the first time what a wild elk looks like with the blood still coarsing through its veins. You're right--it looks like dinner! So, crank up the AC/DC or Classic Rock Mix tape you brought and head to the nearest steakhouse. Alright I have mixed feelings on this one. We had fun, but there was a lot that really angered me. So first off, we'll start with the negative. 1) The carnivores section and the bears. Not only are these animals in far too small of cages, they don't look well taken care of. The bears had some grass and dirt and a few places to hide. And there were quite a few bears! And then the carnivores... They have a surprising number of big cats and wolves. but that's only because they really cram them in. there cages are metal contraptions, and there is hardly enough room for them to get any exercise. When we went, they were almost all laying in their 'shelter' (which is open to one side, so they can't get away from people watching them or the cold weather). Very depressing to see. 2) The horses. So there are multiple fields you get to go through, separated with grates and out with the Bison (who we'll talk about in a minute) there are quite a few deer and two sad looking horses and a mule. They travel together in their little herd, and are obviously scared of the deer with the antlers! When they came up for bread, they had their ears pinned back (not a good sign with horses) and the second one of the horned deer moved, they quickly got out of there. He never got close enough for me to see, but it looked like there might have been some sores on him... around antler height? I'm not sure but I would certainly hope that somebody had a vet look at them! 3) The bread. Well, I can tell from previous reviews that the wheat-bread-only rule is a recent addition, but I still have to ask: is it really healthy for them to be eating that much bread in a day???? These animals are piggie, and people were throwing entire slices to one deer or one llama. I would be curious to know if that's a healthy idea..... The Good: Now here is where I am conflicted because we had some fun. First off, at the top of the first hill there is a small place where you can get out of your car (and settle yourself for the rest of the way where you can't!) and get swarmed by peacocks, turkey and some seagulls who are more than willing to take some of that bread off your hands. And then you go through the first gate and meet some... friendly llamas, yak and a few less than friendly zebra (and peacocks. Just assume there are always peacocks. There are) The llamas have absolutely to qualms about not only shoving their head into your car, but jogging along side of it so you can't escape without feeding them. And all of the animals in the free range areas come up to the car, so just wait a second and they'll be mobbing you too. Then you round around towards the beers (see above) and to the carnivores (above) and head out to the pasture with the elk. They have signs that say don't feed them by the gate --- don't. Because once you start feeding them, you'll be creeping through at 2 miles an hour, because they can and will stand directly in front of the car and refuse to move. Then you cross another gate and you're in with the bison and deer. There are at least two types of deer, and one is particularly pushy (and horned). And then there are the buffalo. Buffalo are big. And they're not particularly shy. They wander on over and shove their tongue in your car looking for bread. And they slobber. And they're big sweeties, or at least we thought so (I did read something somewhere that about in mating season they can be mean). The thing about the buffalo though? Not too fond of you leaving. even after we stopped feeding them (lack of bread) they were rubbing against our car, and knocking back our break-away mirrors... slobbering on all the windows....We had to move very slowly and carefully and try not to run into any of them. Overall, the herbivores are worth the trip... and I would go there and recommend it if that was all they had... but the carnivore cages and the beers are horrible! They need to give up some of the animals to better homes, and work to make the animals they keep happier, pronto! I won't be going back or supporting this place until they take a good, hard look at the living conditions of their carnivores and make some changes. It's not okay to keep animals, especially ones who were originally intended for wide open fields, in tiny little boxes with no distraction or activity. read more

So sad and SCARY. WOW. SHUT IT DOWN. The animals have learned to get in FRONT of cars to stop you from moving. So its a danger to them AND you. The llamas and the elk being the scariest. You are encouraged to feed them so they see a car and RUSH you, you are then surrounded by animals. I couldn't enjoy feeding them because so many animals were rushing my car. This is the saddest place. Please don't support it. I expected rolling green fields, trees, and happily grazing animals. Instead I saw depressed, over-fed animals in unnatural and often cruel environments. The animals are stuffed with cheap bread and look poorly taken of. The "carnivore" area was the worst. Wolves, tigers, even a lion, in very small chain link enclosures. There was very little shade anywhere, just a sad looking bear in a dirty puddle. The bison and deer were ankle deep in their own feces, with very little grass to eat. Of course, with all of that cheap bread, who needs grass? I regret going and now all I can do to ease my shame is warn others. Don't go. It's sad. Those animals deserve better. Give your money to Point Defiance or Woodland Park Zoo instead. I couldn't stop thinking about the sad bears after I left, so I looked at their website for more information. The site said that they were updating the carnivore area after receiving money through a fundraiser. That was posted four years ago... If I witnessed the "improved" carnivore area, I cannot imagine what it was like four years ago. The whole thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth. It's not like I'm a member of PETA. I eat meat. I have been coming to this game farm for 25 years. I now come with my grandchild. It is always so much fun, providing lots of laughter. I dont see animals mistreated. It would be nice to see larger compounds for the tigers and wolves. I would hate to think they are kept in those cages 24/7. But as far as all the other animals, they are free to roam. I too have very mixed feeling with this place. It was very different - you can literally touch some of the animals and be put closer than normal people are typically allowed. I was a foot away from a bear, fed baby deer from my hand, saw a group of buffalos rub up on my car (kinda scary) and had countless yaks, buffalo, horses, llamas and elks stick their heads in my car. It was very very cool and hilarious. This is not a zoo and so your safety isn't 100% guaranteed - I would say that the occasional dumb family that gets out of their car when they aren't supposed to will probably have something bad happen to them so be smart and follow the rules! It does get you thinking that this much bread can't be good for the animals and it is very DEPRESSING to see a LION, tiger and cougars in very small cages especially after seeing these same animals is natural habitats at the zoo. The animals out in the open seem happy and well taken care of. Many seem like they were probably rescued from a circus or something because the bears seemed trained to do tricks so I guess better here than in a circus. The lions also looked really old so again to get me through the place I told myself they were rescued from being killed. The cost is 10.00 per person which is cheaper than NW Trek and you get much closer to the animals. It was so cool being 1 foot away from a bear that you could wave to and he would wave back! We brought extra loaves of bread but you can buy some for 50 cents. I can see this as really fun for kids and even adults who are kids at heart. read more

So much FUN! Wish we had time to go around a second time! Loved the layout and variety of animals. Bunnies to bison and everything in between made for hilarious and giggled drive through the farm. Staff was friendly and helpful. They kept the parade of cars moving. We went right when they opened and all the animals were alert and hungry. The little farrow deer were darn right aggressive, and cause for the most laughter in our car. Thank goodness we had a rental car because the slobber and snot was plentiful! i understand why other reviewers have commented on the living conditions of the animals at the Game Farm. they are valid concerns. many, if not all, of the animals at the Game Farm have starred in movies or television shows so they've been trained and probably lived in far worse conditions. in general, i'm not a fan of zoos or circuses but the interactive nature of the Game Farm is awesome. OKAY, ENOUGH OF THAT... the Game Farm is awesome! i used to live in the area and would just go to the Game Farm as a weekend activity. when out of town friends would visit this was a MUST on our list of things to do. it's seriously so much fun. not many people can say they've fed a bison, who, by the way, have some of the worst smelling breath ever in the whole planet. i love it here! a very important note for people who have never been: you should really listen to the staff when they say not to bring your car to a complete stop when driving through the bison area. THEY WILL SWARM YOUR CAR and they may ruin your car and they may run after your car. keep at a slow and steady pace. if you feel like you want more time with the bison you can drive through again (your ticket gives you all day access). read more

Make the long drive worth while plan for a whole day adventure, & bring plenty of Wheat bread (more than 2 loafs if you want to go around more than once) with you for the animals! If you run out of bread the ticket office sells wheat bread for $2 for each loaf. Watch out for the buffalo if you run out of bread they will bump your vehicle and stand in your way, be careful they can destroy vehicles if you tease them too much. The walking tour isn't much I wouldn't bother with it next time.There is a gift shop and restrooms at this location. Try to arrive before 2PM the bears usually fall asleep by then and this game farm closes at 4PM. read more

Cool spot with lots of family laughs to be had in the car. Bring lots of whole wheat bread. The animals expect you to have it, it's funny to watch as the little goofy critters run about and beg for the handouts. You don't want to be left short. Expect to bring at least three loaves. The bison might clear a sinus in your face while you feed them. Don't worry, it will give you something to talk about for the rest of the evening, that's for sure! The history - this used to be a Walt Disney Farm - is very rich, and the environment is fun! Save this for a sunny day. read more

I loved the waving bears. They will always hold a special place in my heart. Been there 2 years ago and have never forgotten them. Going back there again the week. Wish they had more land to give some of the big cats more room for their enclosures though. They are in small exhibits and seemed so depressed and bored. Hope enough people can help do a fundraiser to make that happen. read more
