While I was working out…read morethere, attempting to do some Ashthanga (a method of yoga that requires a lot of core and upper body strength, things I'm lacking!) an attractive obviously fit young lady approached me and asked me if I was working on Ashtanga. Her name is Miranda and after chit chatting with her for several minutes, I learned that she taught at a local yoga studio up the road. She informed me that the studio offered Mysore Ashtanga as well as other forms of yoga. I figured that was an invitation to go check it out. The building is located in a strip of shops and I went on a Sunday morning so there was ample parking. I walked in a few minutes prior to class and was greeted by Miranda who checked me in. As I was waiting for class to begin, she showed me where the bathrooms and "community mats" were located as well as areas to store your things. (There were no lockers, but the studio is locked while class is in session. Also, they don't charge a rental fee for the community mats.) There's a small coffee table with magazines and couches for you to wait and if you don't want to wait in the studio. The bathroom is clean and has one shower. The studio itself is spacious and is equipped with bolsters and blocks. There is a large mirror to the left side as you walk in so you can check out your form (or those yogis and yoginis with nice derrieres without being too obvious!) I attended an "Ashtanga fusion" class with Miranda which was a combination Vinyasa class with several traditional Ashtanga moves mixed in throughout the session. The class was a good work out, yet all levels of practitioners could adjust and modify poses as needed. It cost me $10 for drop in rate. If you want to do a traditional Ashtanga or Mysore class (which they offer almost every morning, but not Sundays), the drop in rate is $15. They take cash or credit cards. There are also items from Nepal for sale such as mala bracelets and necklaces. They have their schedule as well as a description of the classes and instructor bios online. You can schedule classes through the Mind and Body app or just show up and register there. Thank you Miranda for introducing yourself and for leading a much needed session! It's too bad I met your towards the end of my vacation. Definitely check out The Yoga Room if you're into Ashtanga and even if you're not, check it out anyway if you like yoga or if "you're not into yoga" as the song goes, then hit Clearwater Beach. The environment is beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly calming. Even with several people there, it stayed quiet and relaxing, and everyone was respectful of one another's space. The staff were wonderful, very informative, patient, and genuinely helpful throughout the entire visit. The only thing I would note is that the "90-minute session" includes about 30 minutes of orientation and learning how to use the equipment, so you have closer to 60 minutes to enjoy the services. I do think that could be communicated a little more clearly, but even so, I felt it was well worth it. My favorite experiences were the red light therapy and the zero-gravity massage chairs. There truly is something for everyone, whether you're looking to recover, relax, or simply invest in your overall well-being. I left feeling refreshed and can't wait to come back.

Scape is offering a complimentary 90-minute session to try out their facility on social media, so…read morebecause that opportunity is open to all, I am opting to leave feedback about it here, as it appears that it would be helpful to the business to understand what is and isn't working when inviting in these new potential customers. I have mixed reviews about the experience, but I feel like it could be greatly improved for others by simply considering a few small tweaks in the early stages. First and foremost, the facility is located in a shopping plaza, so parking is plentiful and the building is easy to access. When you walk in, the music is very zen and everything looks clean and inviting. The desk attendant grabs a Scape branded blanket for you and leads you to a room near the entrance that has a wraparound couch, a tv that is turned off, and the same gentle music is playing. I assumed I was just waiting for someone to tour me around the facility since I was new, and the music had me relaxed and ready for a self-care experience. All that was great, but then things got...weird. Over the next 15 minutes or so, more people were lead into the room until the couch was full and people started taking up the additional bench seating. We were all just kind of waiting for someone to come back, and when a woman (presumably the manager on duty) finally did, she simply turned on the TV to a YouTube video of the two owners of Scape giving their elevator pitch of the facility, except the pitch was about 15 minutes or so and it felt entirely like we had unexpectedly found ourselves in a time share meeting (just the information was about Scape instead). A few of us in the room discussed how odd this all was, and a few people even smirked and laughed at the strange experience. When the video ended, the attendant/manager came back in the room and asked everyone, "So what did you think?" Considering that this is a new business and it sounded like they were looking for feedback, I candidly shared that I found the experience weird and that a tour of the facility would have made more sense, but tried to give helpful feedback about the experience. The woman was instantly defensive but remained relatively professional, but the exchange had me kind of considering just leaving at that point. It all felt very awkward. I stuck it out and they actually did do a tour of the facility next. They take you into the locker room where everyone puts on socks (they have some there if you don't have any) and puts belongings in lockers, and then they brought us around to learn about the different sections we could use during our 90-minute session, with equipment like infrared therapy chairs, zero gravity massage chairs (these were my favorite), red light therapy rooms, reflexology foot machines, and even a salt room. By the time we began our actual use of the facility though, it had been about 45+ minutes since I had arrived for my appointment time. I liked the variety of equipment available, and there was plenty of each, so there was never something I wanted to try but couldn't. It ended up being very relaxing and I was able to figure out the use of the equipment fairly easily, and I think I could have stayed in that massage chair for another hour. The whole place felt like a big gym, but instead of different workout sections, there were different ways to experience more relaxation and self-care. Very cool idea overall. Unfortunately, the weird experience at the beginning makes me hesitant to tell my friends and family about this business, as I don't want them to have to go through the time-share-vibe video experience, too. I think more communication around what to expect when you arrive for your first experience, and a huge reduction in the amount of things (and time) you sit through watching and listening to before ever touring the facility, would do wonders for getting people interested in coming back. The issues are all in the marketing experience, as the facility itself is a cool idea.

Sophia did an excellent job on my facial and would see her again if my regular Esthetician were to not be available anymore. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful. They really thought through the details of the rooms and lobby. It is very esthetically pleasing and relaxing. It really sets the mood for a the great services ahead of you. 10/10 will be back!!

Corinna mentioned she had a pregnancy pillow that might work -- and it absolutely did! It had cutouts for the chest area, making it incredibly comfortable. I haven't been able to lie on my stomach that comfortably since my surgery until this massage. Corinna is fantastic at deep tissue work. I had a lot of tension in my neck, traps, and lower back, and she was able to work through it all. The experience was truly peaceful, and I can't wait to go back. Plus, their Wednesday deal is unbeatable -- $65 for a deep tissue massage! Not only is the price amazing, but the space is clean, friendly, and relaxing.

I was pleasantly surprised when I called on Monday and was able to get us all in the same week. I booked for a full one hour with Rebecca and the girls each had 30 minutes with Caroline. The atmosphere in the rooms is very relaxing, the only issue was that you could hear the talking and commotion in the hallway and lobby area. That was a little distracting but that could have been the room I was in. I asked for a deep tissue massage and Rebecca did that. Wow, she really worked some muscle knots out. I almost fell asleep. I would definitely go back to her when I am in town next time. The girls both said their massages were good, just short. I just appreciated being able to get all of us in on that short of notice. There are usually 3 classes offered for each time slot because she has 3 studios. There is a hot yoga room, Pilates and bar room, and a beautiful non-heated yoga space. I am a yoga teacher and very picky about teachers and spaces. Liz Guardia is fantastic. If you like a yoga class including philosophy she's the best! I've taken a lot of their different offerings and have been pleased. Of course, some better than others. There is something for everyone. I highly recommend trying a class or two :)
