It's more of a grab and go type of environment rather than a place you would go to sit and enjoy a meal. There are a couple fitness studios right next door to this place, and I tried to stop here after a morning workout class and realized they don't open until 9am. Since there are two gyms in the same complex, and other gyms nearby, I was surprised to see that they don't open earlier. Align has several classes that end around 8:15/8:30am and this seems like a missed opportunity to catch those customers - myself being one of them one morning recently.

The eggs were perfection…read more We had hopped off the freeway and were taking some back roads closer to the St. Lawrence River and we were thinking breakfast that did not involve fast food. As we passed through a variety of tiny towns that were not much more than intersections we kept looking for something that was...open. Not fast food and...open. Did I mention it was somewhat early on a Sunday morning? Anyway we finally spotted this place...as we passed it. We turned around and came back to it with our hopes up..."Was it open? Was it? It was a restaurant right? Like a diner kind of place?" Well it was open and it was a diner kind of place. We were delighted and went right in. I used one of the few things I have learned to say in French aside from "thank you" and greetings...and asked if they spoke English. I got a smile and a finger held in the air (the polite finger, not the rude finger) and the employee disappeared for a moment, returning with the owner. He turned out to be a delight and between his passable English and our meager French we exchange some small talk and ordered our food. It was outstanding...eggs done perfectly. I cook a fair amount and one of the things people often underestimate is eggs. By underestimating I mean that eggs in their many varieties of preparation are not a simple food to execute really well. We were very happy to have found this place and the food was really good at very fair prices.

The butcher used to work in NJ with a competitor of Pat La Frieda (love PLF) and the shop has anything else you'd like, sandwiches, pastries, local beers, and even a gift shop. It's very cozy and welcoming inside as well. The woman taking our order was super sweet, she was very attentive and when she saw we needed one more steak she hurried over and let the butcher know.
