The flavors were unique, well-balanced, and clearly thoughtfully put together. We also had the tiramisu cheesecake for dessert, which was just as impressive. Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful.

This light-filled, cozy space has a few tables for two to four people next to a small kitchen area. We were glad we didn't bring our stroller inside, as it would not have fit, but that said, they did have high chairs for little ones. The Brazilian-inspired vegan cafe is run by the owner (originally from Brazil) and another woman who were both very kind and gave us ample suggestions as well as time to peruse the menu (in French and English). It was very easy to find gluten free options, which I much appreciated. Everything is made to order and made in house, including the vegan cheeses. Service was a little slow due to some staffing issues, but we weren't in a rush and were glad to chat with the owner a bit to hear about her vision for the cafe. We opted to share a smoothie and a sweet crepe, while we each got our own savory crepes. We couldn't resist getting the blue piña commmlada smoothie, which was fruity, not too sweet, and reminded us of blue milk from Star Wars. Our little one immediately grabbed for our glasses, so we gave him a sip and he was big fan, too! As for the crepes, these aren't your typical French-style crepes, but Brazilian style made with tapioca flour and naturally gluten free. Despite having cooked with tapioca flour at home, I wasn't quite prepared for the nearly-bright white crepes that arrived at our table. They encased the fillings like an omelette, but were crisp on the outside and chewy-melty on the inside (more taco like than pancake-like). I haven't had anything quite like it before, but I quite enjoyed. The champignommm et oignommm (yes, just about every dish name comes with extra "m's") was super delicious and creamy. Highly recommended! The Tall Man's BLT Bacommm was fresh but sparser on the ingredients, and the mushroom bacon wasn't very mushroomy or bacony. At the end we shared a car tola à la plante sweet crepe, which we were told was one of the more Brazilian of the options. The combination of caramelized bananas and the tart fromage blanc (a soft cheese kind of a cross between cottage cheese and yogurt) was a delicious conclusion to our meal. If they were open for additional days of the week while we were in town, we would have gone back! À la prochaine :)

Overall, it offered a unique experience, though not without a few drawbacks. To start, the appetizers were fantastic. We shared the beef tartare, mussels, and crab rangoon. The beef tartare stood out for its flavor, though the accompanying baguette was slightly stale. Despite that, the appetizers were the highlight of the meal. For soup, we sampled the French onion, which was met with mixed reviews--decent, but not particularly memorable. The main courses included kangaroo, venison, fish and chips, and duck. While the chef's talent for creating flavorful dishes was evident, all the meats were unfortunately overcooked. This may have been due to the challenge of preparing multiple meals at once, as we were informed that there was only one chef in the kitchen. The restaurant itself boasts a charming and homey ambiance that enhances the dining experience. Service was friendly and accommodating, with no issues on that front. A standout feature of the menu was the inclusion of kangaroo--a rare find, especially in Vermont. While it's worth trying for the novelty, be prepared for its distinctively high iron content, which imparts a metallic flavor that may not appeal to everyone. In conclusion, this restaurant offers a unique and enjoyable experience despite a few missteps. The friendly service and cozy atmosphere make it a worthwhile stop for those visiting the Jay area. Just keep in mind that the kitchen's limitations may impact larger parties or more complex orders. If you're feeling adventurous, give the kangaroo a try--you likely won't find it anywhere else nearby!

We ordered the antelope Swedish balls, French onion soup, and firecracker beef. Most of the food wasn't great - the antelope Swedish meatballs were the best of the 3. The French onion soup had too much thyme and a very watery broth. The firecracker beef was offensive!! It has a warning that it's very spicy (which is true), but it was a really strange dish! I expected an Asian inspired spicy beef dish over rice, but we got a hot sauce drenched rice bowl. Allegedly there was beef in it, but there was really no texture or flavor other than hot sauce! To clarify to the owner comment - we did tell our server we didn't like it, and that it was not due to the spice - it was due to the gross flavor. She simply said "oh I haven't heard that one" and did not offer to take it off the bill or replace it. Now the drinks and desserts were fantastic! We loved our seasonal cocktails, and we ordered two desserts and polished them off. The maple chomeur was drenched in sauce and so good - we actually poured the remaining sauce over our apple warm too! I loved the fresh apples in the tart since there was some texture. Service was also very good from the front desk to our server.

These didn't stick together well and didn't have a ton of flavor. For the main we tried the fried rice dish with shrimp which was probably a highlight of the meal, although we wished there'd been a few more shrimp. The fried ice-cream was also disappointing. The fried part had very little flavor and the ice cream was not all that tasty nor were the store bought mini chocolate chips. We also had a small salad and a pad se-ew all of which were fine, but not anything I'd especially want to come back for despite the reasonably good service we received here. Overall for the price, quantity, and quality, Dusit was fine, but the experience was maybe not on par with some of the other reviews and star ratings here. I offered them this feedback at the time of my visit.

Your wings usually don't disappoint. The shrimp had a pancake like batter that absorbed the flavor of the oils they were cooked in. They were so dark brown that it was hard to distinguish if it was the oil or the amount of time it was cooked that could be to blame. The coleslaw was warm, but delicious. The cocktail sauce frozen in the center. None of the sauce cups had dates. I have a personal problem with the sauce cups not being dated. As a food industry worker I want to see those use by and made on dates. I hope you can get your quality factor back. Until then I'll miss you.
