The studio is directly behind and possibly attached to the north side of the main strip in the Blackstone district. Parking is usually a challenge in this area so I'd recommend going a little earlier to secure a spot. You'll use a short walkway, up five stairs (there's a lift, if needed) and you're in the studio; the door is visible from 39th St. You'll sense the peacefulness as soon as you enter and take your shoes off. The class was 'Yoga for Rookies', it's currently held Wednesdays and Saturday's (I'm not sure if their schedule changes so go to the website, you can book there anyway). The instructor explained everything as he went, encouraged everyone to do what was best for them and was overall welcoming. The studio supplied everything needed for the class; such as mats, blocks, blankets and straps. There was also a mediation/self-reflecting aspect to his instruction. I felt their instruction, along with the serene environment, really echoed their commitment to mind, body and spirit. I'm already planning my return.

I found hot yoga several years ago when I was in Vegas and found it very helpful. Fast forward several years and not enough stretching later, I needed a new pathway and OTY is exactly what I needed. The staff here is AMAZING!! I can't say that enough. They really give you a sense of belonging while you're there and there is never any judgement. Everyone that goes there is on a different level and they do a great job meeting everyone at that level. Bernie is great at pushing you just enough to ease you through your comfort zone. I'm not experienced with yoga so I really can't comment on the style of the teachers, but what I can say is I always feel welcome here (meaning they're not snobbish- they're quite friendly), and the classes are small and they provide personal attention. My friends and I did Chaeli's sculpt class (or I believe that's what it's called) and loved it. We were sweating our butts off, which who doesn't love a good sweat?! It was a combination of yoga poses, little bursts of cardio and strength training. Due to covid, the yoga studio isn't renting out Yoga matts and weights. I would recommend bringing a matt and 5lb weights for this class if you'd like. Otherwise my friends and I did it without a matt and weights and did just fine! Ps - if you don't have a yoga matt and your worried about the floor being hard, don't fret, the floors squishy! We signed up for our first free class through the mindbody app and it was one of the easiest processes I have ever done. The ladies at the location weren't super pushy about signing up for a paid membership and were extremely kind and chill. I'll definitely be back for another class!

The class members were welcoming and the sound of birds outside the open window filled the room with the joy of morning! We worked through the poses including paired positions. At the end of the 60 minute class we gathered on our folded blankets in a circle and shared our thoughts with tea, apple slices and almonds. The group was again kind and welcoming.
