After speaking with Josh, I had high hopes he understood what I wanted. I provided pictures of my hair from a previous stylist and asked him to duplicate the highlights and low lights. After assuring me with his vast and long experience, he had the utmost confidence he could provide the results I wanted. The results are nothing like the pictures, and the color was much darker than we discussed. My hair looked like a zebra. I have big thick dark stripes in contrast to my blond hair. I'm not sure if he is lazy or lacks experience and training, but the amount of hair in each foil was at least five times too much, so I ended up with big stripes of dark hair, and in the back he made three huge foils for all my hair, scooping all the hair from left to right into one foil. She barely cut his hair- he asked for more off and she took very little more. He said it was fine- he was just ready to leave and I could see he was not happy but he didn't want to be rude. So, while I felt he needed more cut off and shaping done I too chose to just pay so as no to embarrass him or cause a scene. I also thought I'd be paying less. I go to pay and was charged $42 for a maybe 15 min TRIM (total time with some combing was around 20 mins)- no wash (he said he didn't need one). I was shocked! I asked if that price was right and was told that the company sent out emails saying the prices had gone up. I don't recall getting one but I've only been there once before. I went back there because my first visit he got a wash, condition and cut for around $25 before tip. Today I got FAR less and was charged nearly double. I left no tip and won't be back after that price increase. Full transparency- I didn't ask prices (I thought I knew them), she did have to comb through some tangles; but still was able to manage that and trim his hair all in around 20/25 mins all done. I'm super frustrated and honestly sad because it's hard to find good bi-racial hair care and we just had such a pleasant first visit.
