I've visited both locations of this sushi train restaurant, the Nicollet Mall location and the…read moreUptown location, and have had great experiences at both. While this review is specifically for the Nicollet Mall location, I can confidently say that both restaurants offer similar food quality, pricing, and overall service. The food is what keeps me coming back. The sushi is consistently fresh, delicious, and high quality. While the prices may be a little higher than some other sushi spots, I feel like you're paying for the quality of the ingredients and preparation, which makes it worth it. One thing I really enjoy is that you're not limited to what's available on the conveyor belt. You can grab plates as they pass by for the full sushi train experience, or you can order items fresh from the menu if you're looking for something specific. The experience itself is a big part of the appeal. Sushi train restaurants are just fun, especially when you go with a group of friends. I think it's the perfect spot for a group of around 4-6 people because everyone can try different items and enjoy the interactive dining experience together. The ambiance is another highlight. Both locations are clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The staff are always friendly, and service is fast, especially when ordering directly from the menu. While the Uptown location is still my personal favorite, the Nicollet Mall location delivers the same quality food and enjoyable experience that keeps me coming back. Overall, this is one of my favorite places to get sushi in the Twin Cities. Between the fresh food, fun conveyor belt concept, friendly staff, and clean atmosphere, it's a restaurant I regularly recommend to others.

It was far too cold for me to walk anywhere and this was not far from the place I was staying. I was pleasantly surprised as in reading about the sushi train and how it work I felt a bit better about my experience. They have RFIDs on the plates so they know how long it's been going around and then take it off so it doesn't go bad. They had a great variety and there were a couple item that go by on the belt that you have to ask your server for, so you know it is fresh. Not bad if you are looking for decent priced sushi and spending an arm and a leg.

This place does not have the best sushi in MN, but that's okay; the food quality is better than what you would find at a buffet with a sushi station. The wait staff is friendly and the service is quick. Pros: - Several food options that my kids enjoy (not always a given) - Lunch price is very reasonable - Restaurant is clean Cons: - Food quality is alright - Some sushi portions (e.g. tamago) are really small

Great spot for AYCE sushi at a reasonable price. The Eagan location is consistently fresh and…read moredelicious. Food comes out pretty quickly and the service is friendly. The dynamite roll is a dressed up shrimp tempura roll smothered in eel sauce, so good! My favorite roll is the crazy roll, which is like the dynamite roll but it also has cucumber so you get a nice texture contrast with the crunchy cucumber pieces. The fried rice and udon have a really nice smoky flavor. The beef and salmon teriyaki cuts are pretty thin but the teriyaki sauce adds a lot of flavor. For dessert they have green tea, red bean, and vanilla ice cream. The ice cream is creamy and the scoops are generous. They do not take reservations. There is plenty of booth seating and a couple of tables and high tops.

Food is good, decent quality of meat, and a few tasty side dishes. Service was good, friendly server (might be the owner). Would consider to go there again next time we are in town.

Food 5/5: we did AYCE. We got: Edemame, egg rolls, gyoza, corn cheese, Zuchinni, mushrooms, Miso soup, garlic shrimp, pork belly, ribeye, boneless short rib, skirt steak, and brisket. The marinated meats were my favorite along with the shrimp! I loved the pairing of the dry rub with both sauces, and the sauces definitely enhanced the flavor of the meats. Service 5/5: our server was very attentive and helpful. He asked if we wanted a demonstration which was helpful even though we knew what we were doing. They are quick to change your grill place when it gets covered, and I love the option of the avocado oil. Many other bbq places don't offer that. Ambiance 5/5: this place feels very fancy! Overall very spacious. The booth we were in was very comfortable. Overall a great option for AYCE BBQ! We loved our experience and will definitely be back.
