I do not recommend this place at all. Reasons: 1. The char siu in the ramen is so small. They gave me two small pieces of char siu that were kbbq brisket thin. 2. The broth was not rich at all, it tasted like store bought broth seasoning packets and just lacked any flavor or care. 3. The takoyaki is 100% bought from a store as frozen and reheated. The octopus pieces inside were extremely chewy and rubbery. I couldnt even chew it so i just swallowed it whole. Thats tell tale sign that its frozen takoyaki thats made by a big vendor. 4. The host just pointed me to a table when i came in instead of showing me where to go. I was confused because i didnt know where he was pointing to so he made another pointing gesture more aggressively without moving from his spot. read more

We stopped in on a really cold Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was super chilly and I wish it had been warmer. Although the thought of warm soup started to warm my belly up. I was surprised to see only one employee working the entire storefront. There were several tables and he was rocking it all by himself. Did things take a little longer? Yes. Did we mind? No. It was clear he was holding down the fort and honestly did a great job. We started with two steamed buns Gyoza, and octopus balls. I would definitely order the tofu steamed bun, but would probably pass on the chicken. It was extremely thin and a little tough to eat. We also would skip the octopus balls moving forward...But the Gyoza 10 out of 10. Main course we went with a pork rice dish and a pork ramen. Both were good, nothing that blew us out of the water, but definitely hit the spot on a cold Saturday afternoon. This is the second location I have been to and honestly besides the temperature, it was really nice. There is plenty of parking out front and is located near a lot of stores if you're looking for something to do before/after. Dropped in for lunch here on a cool fall day, and ramen is the best for just such a day. The ramen here was quite good, nice and chewy with some good tops and broths. We got the char siu and red curry and these were both delicious - the red curry being being more like red chili oil than like a thai red curry, but still it worked out well (a good heat too, so, you've been warned if you're low spice tolerant). I ventured over here after work and it's in a shopping plaza which made parking really easy. I walked in and was seated right away. The one employee working the floor was running around. He was quick to help each table. I ordered takoyaki to start and then seafood ramen since it was one of the recommended choices. I also ordered a soda and had to ask for a glass. I asked for ice but he mentioned the ice machine was broken. The food came out pretty quickly. The takoyaki was good. It has chunks of the octopus in it. And dressed nicely (I've had some with way too much mayo before so this was nice). The seafood ramen wasn't as hot as I would've liked. Not sure if they needed to fire up the broth again. Ichiddo is located in the small HarMar strip mall. Lots of food delivery pickups so it must be popular, which is surprising to me since I like to eat my ramen freshly prepared. Maybe people are getting the other items on the menu. I had the #1 ramen with roasted pork belly, half a soft boiled egg, fish cake and black garlic oil. The noodles were springy and slightly al dente. The pork was fatty and tender. I really enjoyed the broth as well. The karaage was not as good. It looked undercooked and lacked color or seasoning but tasted slightly overdone. I would get the ramen again but not the karaage based on this experience. read more

The food was even more impressive! beautifully presented, very delicious and portions were generous. My friend and I both agreed that we would be going back soon. My friend and I were in the mood for a classic bowl of ramen, and Ichiddo did not disappoint! There are many appetizers to choose from, so it's easy to try new things each time you visit. This time we ordered the tofu buns, and they were pretty good! The bun was fluffy and chewy, and the sauce was sweet. The tofu and its breading seemed a little under seasoned, but the sauce made up for it. I ordered the seafood ramen, and while the broth, noodles, and seafood were delicious, I wish there was more actual seafood in the dish. The whole bowl had just the seafood pictured floating on the top, and I wish there was more to find on the bottom of the bowl amongst the noodles. I've been on the hunt for a go-to ramen spot in my area, and I gave Ichiddo a try. It's a reasonably priced, solid option for ramen in the Roseville area. My group ordered a large house sake to split, and it was plenty for three of us to have a sample. I ordered the kimchi ramen. Others in my group ordered the beef ramen and the crispy chicken ramen. Overall, we were very happy, especially with the freshness of ingredients and portion size. We were a bit disappointed in the spice level; we were hoping to sweat but weren't phased at all. The beef in the kimchi and beef ramen was also not our favorite because it was pretty chewy. The crispy chicken was great, though! It's hard to find good Ramen places in Minnesota, so I was incredibly excited to try this Ramen. My husband and I both got the number one selling pork ramen. I found the pork to be kind of dry and the broth was not nearly as flavorful as I was hoping for. You will have to be rolled out of here though because the portions are big and they do not skimp on the noodles. We also had tried the octopus appetizer and were a little disappointed that the deep-fried ball had one tiny piece of octopus in a sea of deep fried breading. Ichiddo Ramen, a chain with restaurants"in the Midwest and the west coast" says the menu. Well Ichiddo has accomplished what most franchises fail to do: Create an artisan cuisine in a franchise format, and having real chefs to see to it that this happens. Maybe the trick is to serve Japanese food with the high prices it commands. Whatever is the formula, they have really done it. For comparison sake, my favorite ramen spots in town are Zen Box Izakaya, Midori's Floating World Cafe, and the late Tanpopo in St. Paul. All of the one-off boutique locally-owned foodie joints. I ordered the Classic Char Siu Ramen. It is a tonkotsu broth with shoyu tare (traditional bone broth with soy-based seasoning.) The broth is actually deeper than Zen Box's broth. Char Siu was very well prepared with deep marinated flavor and grilled to perfection. The noodles were bouncy done right. Toppings included fish cake, the half-boiled egg, nori, and garnishes. Overall this was an incredible surprise as knowing it is a chain I did come with lower expectations, which were blown out of the water! The only feedback I have is that the portion size is a bit small compared to their competition (-1 Star). But in Roseville, they have a monopoly. If you're in the mood for authentic Japanese food when you're in Roseville, this is the only place I'd head to. That's really the end of the story here. Forget Osaka, Kyoto, etc. These folks know how to cook. read more

We really enjoyed our meal there. As far as Asian Foods go in Roseville, you don't find many Ramen Shops. This place is the real deal and not a "watered" down version. Go try it! Very traditional Japanese with the dark varnish wood and red lantern decorations. The service here was great. My go-to ranen restaurant in Minneapolis. Both of these bowls are char siu ramen, which is probably their most popular dish here. I added corn in my bowl since I love it, but the original order does not come with corn. They are probably one of the few ramen places that are open for dine-in during COVID. They take good measures to keep customers safe. I would always go back. I think this place has become a comfortable and safe option for me and my friends. Oh well, there are worse fates than cold edamame. Decent bowl of ramen, though I've been spoiled by tonkotsu ramen from California's Japantown and Fukuoka in Japan proper, so maybe I'm just being picky in wanting a broth with more mouthfeel. Odd ratio of char siu to noodle - very generous on meat, and less so on noodles. Perhaps most unusual feature was not helping overhear the owner(?) lecturing an employee even though both were far from the dining area. Well-intended scolding, no belittling here, but the fact that I was hearing every word definitely added an odd feel to the experience. Never mind, it's definitely the over half an hour of the owner(?) getting on the phone and railing nonstop in Mandarin at someone on the phone. As in I barely heard pauses the entire while. Got the Char Sui Ramen. It came with three pieces of thinly sliced char sui, with memna, black mushrooms and lots of green onions. The broth was tasty, a soy sauce based broth. Definitely not your average Shoyu ramen as there is a meatiness to the broth that you can't fake with bouillon. The noodle portion is good and they had a nice firmer texture to them. I ordered extra noodles since I was hungry for an extra $3. They came precut, so next time I would probably ask them to not cut it. I also ordered the takoyaki. Unfortunately this was the disappointing thing about my visit. It was tasty, with a chunk of octopus in the middle of each ball. There was a lack of kewpie mayo and takoyaki sauce on top. The bonito flakes looked like the fine bits of pencil shavings. This would have capped off my rating at 5 stars if it wasn't disappointing. Was craving ramen and was around the area so decided to stop in. I'm from the west coast and have some incredible ramen places around here that cater to the Japanese population. This place was quite good! I had their signature ramen with pork belly and a half-cooked egg and a shoyu base. Pork belly slices were tender, and had been flash fried a bit on the outside to provide some extra browning and flavor. Half cooked egg was perfect. The stock was flavorful as well. What keeps this place from being great was the prices for the portion sizes. These are smaller bowls than I'm used to and higher prices as well. It was enough to feed me for lunch but as a dinner I'd probably need an appetizer as well. Not going to have leftovers for sure. Also they will not do substitutions for what comes standard with each bowl, even if what you want replaced is the same price as what you're replacing it with - this is the first ramen place I've hit which was that restrictive. read more

My husband and I usually love this place. the food is good, customer service is good, but this time around i caught our server stick his hands down his pants, pick his butt, and then hand us our food without ever washing his hands. I couldn't eat my food because I was so disgusted.
