Once inside, everything is beautifully displayed where there is even a plant room near the front of the store. The handmade ceramics as well as antique glassware and pieces are either displayed in the centre of the store or to the side. There are also other things like socks, candles, cards, tea, tea accessories, as well as incense as well. I've always found that the items at Mika are of high quality and carefully handcrafted. The staff are super friendly and helpful if you have any questions that need to be answered regarding the ceramics or the plants. If you are buying a gift for someone staff will make sure to include a card to explain how to care their ceramics. Mika is the type of place where I've always found great gifts for everyone - friends and family! They always come back to me to tell me how much they enjoyed the ceramics and items I picked up from Mika. Overall, a beautiful space for ceramics and plants! Don't interview friends and family to confirm. Plant quality is great with no pests or issues. They have plant staples i.e. monstera, pothos, snake plants, etc. and a good supply in terms of selection and size but it can definitely vary. They also have rare plants from time to time that I have not been able to find elsewhere e.g. butterworts. They carry other beautiful items including dry bouquets, matcha, antiques, locally made candles and greeting cards, and handmade pottery (e.g. mugs, vases and planters). They do a great job of updating their Instagram stories to let you know of new plants and items in stock if you want to purchase/put them on hold. Everything is displayed so beautifully that it's hard not to draw inspiration. You absolutely have to purchase a plant and a mug from here to cozy up your space. Mika is the most helpful person here and, when available, always makes sure I know how to take care of my new plant babies. Take a walk-through and trust me you won't want to leave!

In its previous incarnation it was one of my favourite places to visit and pick up something beautiful for a wedding or birthday gift. And now that is even more true. Stepping in off busy Queen West into the new space is like walking into another world. Its all fresh and white and soft but bright colours. And so many beautiful things to look at and covet. Cambie still offers many of its classic items - soft alpaca blankets from Peru, locally made candles, and blue sage for example - but now they've got a whole new pack of items on offer as well. Most notable is the addition of Moroccan textiles and some other locally made pottery. It's an eclectic mix that offers inspiration and I dare you to leave without a desire to go back.

I enjoyed the large selection of aromatherapy products as well; roll-ons, soaps, lotions and more. I bought a roll-on that ended up being empty, brought it back and the owner was immediately horrified, offered a new one, checked it was full and vowed to check with her supplier. They stand behind what they sell here and are exceedingly kind. My only concern is that I pass by this place often, and I know I'm going to buy a LOT of things here!

They have a very nice selection of ceramics, a crazy pipe collection, and overall well chosen home items. I ended up buying a nice striped apron. I asked the employees for help and they were super on the ball and not at all too cool to help me out, which is something I time happens a lot with trendy places in the area. My only note is that a lot of items seemed to be quite pricey, but I'm sure everything is locally and well made so I'd hope that's what warrants the hefty price tag. I will be back!

However, I find that I am most often buying cards from here. Walk to the back, and there is a really stunning section of (Canadian made only?) greeting cards on a wall at the back. Really beautiful stuff and a rotating collection is much appreciated. When they have sales, I scoop up several at a time for toonies. Otherwise, it's the kind of place you could browse for hours, fully entertained. Or you might just walk in and buy the whole shop. Come to think of it, I haven't bought many things for myself here, but now I want to.

I was at HomeSense 7575 Weston Road Woodbridge today at 7pm. A dog pooped on the floor by Gallery…read moreisle. 3 people almost stepped on it. I advised the cashier there's poop on the floor. 10 minutes passed, it was still on the floor. I advised another staff member who rudely responded to me and said "I know I know, we've already been told" then turned her back to me. I told her I'm trying to be nice and helping them avoid avoid a situation where people would step on it. She responded and was rude about it again. I asked to speak with a manager I was told the manager is on break. I walked away. Another 5 minutes passed same girl and the assistant manager proceeded to clean the poop. As they walked by I said "it's about time somebody attended to it." The assistant manager rudely responded, we didn't know and was very confrontational. I said I reported twice, how do you not know. I asked to speak to a manager above her, I was then told that there is no manager on duty. I left and called the store (905) 850-8131, the assistant manager answered. I asked to speak to a manager, she told me that no manager tonight and for the rest of the weekend. After a few words back and forth she hung up on me, accused me of being rude to her and her staff. I called back again, she was rude and she hung up again. Not very good customer service at all after trying to help them prevent customers from stepping on dog poop. I'll be reporting this to Corporate office.
