I disclosed multiple complex conditions -- including Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and MCAS -- and clearly communicated my history of medical trauma, tissue sensitivity, and claustrophobia. Despite this, I was placed in positions that triggered back spasms, pressured to undress even after I explained I had specifically worn a dress to feel less exposed, and subjected to deep abdominal and groin pressure that caused pain I did not have before the session. Most upsetting was the patronizing tone throughout the visit. I was trying to be open and compliant, but my discomfort and concerns were dismissed with smiles and offhanded comments. I left the session feeling not only physically worse, but emotionally invalidated. This may not be every patient's experience, but if you have a complex medical history or require respectful, trauma-informed care, this may not be the right fit. I will not be returning.

I thought both were helpful in alleviating my pain. They also helped me do exercises that were appropriate for my mobility, strength and pain level. 100% recommend them. Dr. Janu and Dr. Eric. The issues I've had here are with the staff. After coming in for my first appointment I was told that Dan would call to schedule my next appointments. I didn't hear from him. I finally called and was told that he was waiting for a script from my doctor and authorization from my insurance. I told him I had a script and we went round and round on the next step. I finally called my doctor and had them fax it over to them. Then I waited some more. It turns out my insurance now required authorization to continue. I called them and found out they had authorized it so I called back again to let them know. I finally was able to schedule my next appointment but 2 weeks had gone by. They also had a staff shortage going on so even though I was authorized there were no appointments available all week. My insurance only authorized it a limited time frame. Then I went on a planned vacation so I lost another week. My next appointment was with a young woman who did not seem to understand my issue - she had me do exercises that were really painful and did not help. The next few days I was in so much pain I could hardly move and had to add a knee brace which wasn't even an area that hurt before. I finally went back in and saw Dr. Janu and told him what had happened. He did a great job with appropriate stretching and exercises. The bad news? MY TIME WAS NOW UP with my insurance approval. LOL So they have to re-request additional time to continue. I don't really trust their front office staff to do it in a timely manner - so I doubt I'll get back in before the end of the year.

They also used several different presentation aids to make sure I understood my condition and the methods they planned to use to help me. They are very patient, highly skilled and helped put me on track for a recovery. They also provide me with long term exercises to maintain my health. I had a membership to this gym back in April to May 2018. The first thing that attracted me to it…read morewas the price. I've actually connected with this gym via Instagram. Whoever ran its account followed me and remained active as far as liking my posts and commenting. I really appreciated it and because of it, I've paid a visit and signed up. The first day, the employees were helpful and seemed very welcoming. I've signed up and the fee at the time was $35 a month. It was something that I could get with. I started going to the gym at least every other day around 6 a.m. because it's usually empty and I would get enough exercise in without worrying about being around others. It was cool for a minute. Then one day, due to the fact that I had be elsewhere earlier in the day, I've decided to go around noon where I know plenty of people were going to be around. When I walked in, I flashed my membership card so that no one can stop me and try to ask a million questions. The employees all had this weird look on their face. It was a look of "Who is he?" and "Does he even belong here?" You could cut the tension like a knife. It felt as if the record stopped once I walked in. Anyway, I walked straight to the locker room to get into my workout gear. No more than 2 minutes later, one of the employees, or who I believe is the owner, came in behind me. He walked around the locker room for at least 30 seconds. Then he pretended to use the bathroom because the urinals are right there as soon as you walk in. I didn't hear anything nor did he wash his hands, so my b.s. detector went off immediately. I've proceeded to go upstairs to begin my workout. However, 10 minutes later, I packed it all up because it was fresh in my mind. The next day, I called to cancel my membership. I had to pay an extra $35 for the next month, but I couldn't get down with what I felt, in which I believed that I was a target of discrimination. And even if it wasn't direct, I'm sure if I've stayed longer, it would've happened. Several times prior to going to this gym, I've called and the owner, I assume uses his private phone, answered. Each conversation felt very dry and he didn't even show no enthusiasm towards a new gym member. I had to get out of it quick because other than getting myself together, I would like to feel welcomed. Gyms are usually places where bonds are formed through the shared love of fitness. Here, it felt like I was a ghost...one who was visible, but unwanted.
