Vishal is kind, intuitive, and exceptional at his craft. I came to him for help with my peraformis muscle, which had been bothering me for years. Standard physical therapy did nothing to help the pain and it kept getting worse. After the first visit the pain was greatly reduced. After 2 weeks it was gone! Vishal is an amazing acupuncturist. He is very skilled in a variety of modalities, such as cranio-sacral and cupping as well. My favorite thing about him though is that he is an educator, when I first met him I had never had acupuncture, there was so much to learn and every visit with him he taught me something new, but taught me these things in a way that showed me his love for what he does, which was contagious. He taught me more the inner workings of what was going on internally in my body as he was doing the different points and what all the results meant. I have a fear of needles, so I'd always stayed away from acupuncture. But my soon-to-be sister-in-law is an acupuncturist in Walla Walla, and after discussing the practice with her, I decided to give it a try. What I found is that it truly works - as long as you are willing to make the corresponding changes in your own life. I think because acupuncturists are treating the whole system of the body, it will work in ways that Western medicine never will, but only if you make the deep changes in your health and wellbeing to support it. What this means might come as a surprise to you. I thought I was doing everything I could by eating healthy and exercising. But my diet had become increasingly restrictive over time as digestive issues limited me only to rice, some veggies and fruit, and some meat. Each time I tried to broaden back into a normal eating pattern, I'd have issues. I was also practicing a demanding form of hot vinyasa yoga several times a week and had been for about a decade in order to counteract my 30% S-curve scoliosis. But I was in pain all the time, and after years of chiropractic treatments, I still couldn't hold my adjustments. I had other problems, too - hay fever allergies, chronic bladder pain, insomnia, and heart palpitations. I was under a lot of stress pretty much all the time. I initially sought acupuncture for the scoliosis-related problems. Vishal Verma tipped my apple cart entirely by suggesting a different course. First, he told me to stop the hot yoga and diversify my exercise program, incorporating aerobic exercise, outside if possible. In his opinion, hot yoga wasn't right for my particular constitution, and it was depleting me. Following his advice was like taking away my security blanket - this yoga had become a part of my life! But I did, and the heart palpitations stopped. Over time and with acupuncture, my pain also decreased. Second, Vishal suggested I go on a cleansing diet. Unfortunately, I became sick at the outset of the diet, which had to be halted and then resumed later. I don't think this was the fault of the cleanse, just an overall system out-of-whack situation. Eventually, I recovered, and on the cleanse, I lost 15 lbs. More importantly, I gained a better understanding of what kind of diet my body needs, which is different than I thought - a much more omnivorous diet that minimizes triggers like alcohol, excessive dairy and carbs, and fried foods. I've been surprised to be able to eat eggs and nuts again, two things I'd had allergic reactions to in the past. For me, acupuncture is now an essential part of my overall health plan. I've supplemented it with a spiritual practice and community that help me manage stress and build relationships in my life for better emotional health. I've also seen a vascular bone therapist, which works well with the acupuncture and gets to some of the deep-tissue injuries in the fascia and muscle-to-bone. My issues have gone from 70-90% problematic down to 10-30%, and continuing to decrease with each visit. (I've been in treatment since Feb 2014). I'm running again, which I thought I'd never be able to do, and I've stopped taking the daily asthma medication Advair, which my Western doctor told me I'd be on the rest of my life! So get thee to this acupuncturist, but know that you might need to make some important shifts in your life, too, even if you think you're living a healthy lifestyle. read more

I don't know if there are enough words to describe how helpful Vishal has been in treating my Generalized Anxiety Disorder, allergies and pain from a tibial plateau fracture on my knee. Since starting treatments in July, my anxiety levels have been reduced to minimal...I can breathe deeply again and I am not over thinking ever single detail of every day life. I can sleep soundly through the night again without panic attacks. I also went from taking prescription allergy sprays and pills to not taking them at all with the help of weekly acupuncture treatments and natural supplements. But the most amazing thing to me is how much the pain in my knee has been reduced in just two treatments. I am having lots of pain in my knee due to the tibial plateau fracture I had 3 years ago. This ranges from arthritis and popping of me knee to possible meniscus tear. With some cupping, and regular treatment, Vishal has taken my pain level from an 8 to a 1 in just 2 weeks. Five months ago I began seeing Vishal for acupuncture treatment for treatment of the chronic leg pain that I had lived with for over 35 years. It the past I had tried a variety of medications without much luck. After a few treatments and with the combination of herbs I began to have pain of less intensity and much less frequency. In addition to the leg pain, I had foot pain and knee pain that I had lived with for 5 years. This pain is now completely gone! Currently, through the use of acupuncture I am now being helped to lessen the withdrawal side effects of the medications that I had tried, which I am slowly weaning off of.
