The brisket was so tender and melted like butter, almost, but it was a bit messy to eat. Chunks fell out that I had to pick up to eat. Take lots of napkins on this one! It also had a slaw on it, a nice compliment. The sauce was super tasty. Everyone complimented the fries. They were really good, much better than the fast food variety, except comparable to In-N-Out. As a foreigner, I understand that cultural differences and misunderstandings can happen, especially in a busy festival environment. However, I felt very uncomfortable when the person taking my order appeared to imitate my accent and then became aggressive when I did not engage with it. I simply wanted to place my order, receive my food, and not have my accent mocked or my genuine attempt at kindness taken as a slight. I know festival work can be exhausting, but I did not expect to be treated like a nuisance simply for ordering food. The moment that shocked me most was when I tried to spell my Irish name for the order, since it is often unfamiliar to people in the U.S. Instead of understanding that I was trying to be helpful, the staff member snapped, "I KNOW HOW TO SPELL," which felt completely unnecessary. I had no intention of insulting her intelligence; I was only trying to avoid confusion. The experience was so uncomfortable that I left in a hurry out of second-hand embarrassment over how I had been treated. I did not even want to stay near the truck, and it took me a while afterward to figure out which food truck it was because I had walked away so quickly. Both gentlemen were very apologetic and told me to keep the sandwich on them and they would make a basket. A few minutes later the basket was ready.
