Sweet Mother 101 food truck set up near my work. My first thought was... that's a catchy name and I luv the adorable logo. But what do they serve? I got closer to read the menu... Nigerian fusion! Hmm. I've never had Nigerian food before and the menu sounded appetizing. I thought I'll give it a go. Glad I did! Sure dug my chicken rice bowl which wasn't served in a bowl, more of a rectangular sized to go container. So just saying that because it was a bigger serving size than I was thinking it would be. Step 1 Pick your choice of rice bowl, loaded fries, or wrap (pita). If you pick the rice bowl, you can upgrade to jollof rice for an extra charge. Step 2 Pick your protein. Chicken, steak, and akara which is vegan frittered black eye peas. Step 3 Sauce it up. Pick your sauce. There are four kinds. I chose the chicken rice bowl with the Sweet Mother sauce. The sauce is sweet n savory. Totally delicious. The chicken is thigh meat with a spice rub. It was delicious as well. It had a nice smoky flavor. Tender. The bowl came with slaw and sweet plantains. The slaw was a bit boring flavor wise, but had a nice fresh crunch. The plantains were grilled to gorgeous caramelized color. Looked appetizing but I didn't eat them due to having a food allergy.

Chicken pit wrap with "I Want Problem" sauce

What an unexpected food experience at Movement Brewery in Rancho Cordova. It was supposed to be a quick drink and bounce, but ended up drinking more, so of course the munchies kicked in. First time hearing about Sweet Mother 101 food truck and my first time trying Nigerian fusion food. I got the chicken wrap with the hilarious sauce name 'I Want Problem'. I love me spicy and this delivered. It really gave me a problem. They didn't skimp out on the ingredients. There was plenty of filling that one wrap was enough to satisfy my slightly buzzed hunger. The flavor was really nice from their warm spice rub, the sweetness from the plantains and the ever so powerful problem sauce. Really enjoyed the pita as well. It was warm, soft and kept the ingredients together as I devoured the wrap. I'm intrigued by their other menu items. I def want to try their rice bowl with jollof rice and of course the kid in me wants to try their loaded fries. I'm happy they are on my radar. Good food, good staff. Hope to see this food truck around the Rancho Cordova area again.

This food truck showed up at work one afternoon, and I decided to roll the dice on lunch. Best decision I made all week. I ordered the beef rice bowl, which comes stacked with jollof rice, fried plantains, and curry coleslaw. Then comes the sauce selection - and I went full throttle with the "I Want Problem" sauce. Outrageous name, outrageous flavor: spicy, sweet and totally addictive. Eating this in my office turned heads. I devoured the whole thing in one sitting and waddled back to my desk in a food coma - but zero regrets. The portion was generous, the flavors are bold, and the plantains are fire. If you see this truck parked anywhere near you, don't hesitate. Just go. And maybe block off a nap afterwards!

Loaded fries with steak, honey pepper and sweet mother sauces

Was looking for lunch at work and was headed to one place and decided to check Sacto Mofo to see what food trucks were near. At that time I discovered this place what not far from my job at all. When I arrived there were a few ppl waiting on food and one who was ordering. You self order on the iPad. The food took about 15-20 mins to be prepared. I ordered the loaded fries with steak and the honey pepper and sweet mother sauces. Everything in that flavor wise dish came together perfectly. The plantains were a nice touch. The fries were crispy and the sauce is tomato based so you gave your ketchup. The honey pepper sauce has a kick but not too spicy. I definitely need to return to try the jollof rice bowl!

Jollof rice bowl with chicken and sweet mother sauce

Amazing service and delicious food! I have recommended this place to family and friends and they all love it. Been here multiple times and always got nice and amazing service from Vincent. Ive tried their wrap, loaded fries, and rice bowl and definitely recommend the jollof rice bowl. Also their extra spicy sauce is called "I want a problem" for a reason, it made me cry lol so be careful

We stopped at this food truck during the Farm to Fork Street Festival and were so excited to try their food. They do tablet ordering and you can pay with card on the tablet or pay cash when your food is ready. We ordered the rice bowl ($20) and upgraded to Jollof Rice (+$2) it was well worth the extra $2 for this flavorful rice! We chose chicken thigh as our protein and their Sweet Mother (savory and rich) sauce. My husband and I split the plate and it was a good amount of food. We felt like the $22 was reasonable for a festival, but if we got this outside of a festival I'd probably want a bit more protein for the price. However, it was so so tasty! The chicken was well cooked and seasoned, the sauce was delicious and the rice paired perfectly with it. The food took a bit from ordering to receiving it, but it came out fresh and hot. We would definitely visit again.

    Chicken pita

What a delight to find something new and flavorful at a food truck! I got the chicken pita with the curry ranch sauce and savored every bite! I wouldn't really call it a ranch sauce though. It's more like a creamy curry sauce. The chicken was moist , flavorful and tender so easy to bite through in a pita. I enjoyed the plantains and slaw as well. Adding crunch and sweetness. The gentleman working there was super friendly and answered all my questions. I am eager to go back and try more dishes.

Wow! We tried out this food truck at the farm to fork festival and it deserves to be recognized. I had the chicken bowl which came with rice, plantains, and a side coleslaw and it was delicious! I upgraded to the joleff rice and it was worth it. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The plantains were cooked just right and not too sweet. The coleslaw was fresh and light. Probably one of the best food trucks here in Sacramento.

Great find right here! The steak jollof rice bowl with plantains and slaw was flavorful and big portion! We also enjoyed the black eyed peas fritters! Hot, crisp with big flavors! We will definitely be back to try the wraps and loaded fries!

Honey pepper wings and chicken rice bowl

Got the rice bowl with chicken and the sweet mother sauce and then the honey pepper wings. There's so much flavor in the rice, spectacular. The wings with the honey pepper sauce was a real winner too. I was really blown away and hope to see this business do well

Rice bowl with chicken. The plantains and Cole slaw come standard. The red sauce drizzled on top is the Sweet Mother Sauce.

At this food truck you have the choice of rice bowl, loaded fries, or pita wrap. You then choose your protein and sauce. I got the rice bowl with chicken and Sweet Mother Sauce. The rice was absolute perfection. The chicken was good. The sauce was new to me. It had a little heat (I'm a wimp) and it reminded me of a red enchilada sauce mixed with curry. The bowl included Cole slaw, which I usually hate. But this was great! It also had a curry flavor to it which was very nice. The rice bowl also came with two chunks of sweet fried plantain. God I love plantains, and these were great. Next time I'll try a different sauce. The Sweet Mother was ok, but I think I might like the Curry Ranch sauce more. To order, you enter your selection into an iPad. It's a pretty cool set up! Certainly more efficient and cost-effective for the business. I will definitely be back.

Just okay if you're vegetarian. I was hungry after my appointment at Kaiser Point West yesterday,…read moreso when I saw The Lumpia Truck parked on the street next to the parking lot I thought, hmm why not? I had not tried The Lumpia Truck before and it sounded good. The shell of the vegetarian lumpia was the best part unfortunately, and cooked perfectly. However, what was inside was a lot like someone had just poured a vegetable medley of corn, peas, and carrots inside without seasoning or anything else added for texture and flavor. I have had veggie lumpia before that had much more to offer. The sauce that came with was sort of like sweet mayo. It was also just okay but did add more flavor to the bland insides of the lumpia. It was so disappointing I probably wouldn't try it again unless I hear of a recipe change or improvement. I did find the service to be friendly and my order to be done in ten minutes as I was warned when I paid. I also appreciated the cold bottle of water for $2. Ambiance is the kind you would expect when you happen upon a food truck outside during lunchtime hours. I am also not sure what if anything offered here is vegan, just fyi. So-so experience. Maybe it's a better one for the meat eaters.

I went to get a Lobster roll + whoopie pie (nothing else) and the total was $35! It IS delicious. Still thought it was worth it. It IS lobster, you can't expect it to be cheap like chicken or beef. Just be ware of that price hike. I know they have expenses to pay. I think this product is best in middle & upper class markets. Second thing is the worker wasn't proficient in English, so we went back and forth on Google Translate trying to understand each other for simple words like 'Cole slaw', 'on the side' & 'salad'. It was a frustrating experience plus a waste of company time! Time =$$! I would go back again when I am planning on spending that much. It IS the ONLY place I can find that sells Lobster rolls. Even Red Lobster only sells it during their Lobster fest. Just gotta have the Google Translate ready to go lol
