Great antique consignment shop! We go every time we come to Dallas! There is something for everyone!

I happened on this gem while my husband and I were in Dallas for a long weekend. I ended up visiting On Consignment twice in two days! It's crowded-full of great pieces, many/most that were more than I wanted to pay, but I did find a fabulous pink lamp in my price range. It's one of my favorite vintage finds to date. This was my favorite consignment shop by far! They have SO much inventory it will take you some time to truly see everything, but that's what I love. I was primarily looking for chandeliers and they had SO MANY I was in heaven! Having been to a few other consignment shops in the area during my visit, this was the only one worth going to in my opinion. The prices were fair, and depending on how long they've been in store, the prices are adjusted. I went there two days in a row and both times the staff was exceptionally helpful. I did end up purchasing a beautiful chandelier and was going to Uber it to FedEx to have shipped and they offered to give me a ride. Who does that??? Extremely grateful. Such a fun store, some of the items can seem a little overpriced but I've never ended up at the register and paid the marked price. And i don't mean haggling, every time I have found something I like they offer you a little better price. It's such a fun treasure hunt, I always find at least a little something that I love at an impulse buy price even if it does take a few laps and a little digging. The best thing is the selection is so eclectic, even if you are like me in Uptown and have a modern house there are so many pieces that are vintage and maybe not something you would look for if you were shopping at a standard retail store but look so modern once you get them home. read more

I have NEVER been disappointed when visiting On Consignment. Upon your first step into the store, you may be surprised to see that navigation can prove to be a little difficult because there are so many items. However, do not let this scare you away. Just push on through! On Consignment is a store I regularly visit when making my consignment store rounds. I am incredibly picky when it come to furnishing my home with quality pieces and my home is furnished with many pieces from this store including rugs, a love seat, a lingerie chest, and beautiful drapes. Their prices are very fair, if not outright bargains for the quality pieces they sell. I also know that the owners are pretty picky about the pieces they will sell. This place is definitely worth a walk-through. A FEW TIPS: Check back often as they are constantly getting new pieces daily. Also, street parking can be difficult on Fairmont depending upon the time of day you visit and On Consignment does have parking in their back alleyway. read more

As anyone who knows me, knows I love a bargain. Unfortunately it will not be at this store. I found that their prices where extremely pricy for what they were selling. For example, my friend was interested in a small white desk. The back of the desk and drawers were plywood (sheet) and some nails were loose. I thought it would be around 50 dollars, I was wrong. You could be a owner of a plywood desk for $399. Hell no.. I think they have fallen off of their rocker. It would seem that they do not have great turn over. This could be because... a. items are priced too high b. Nothing is organized, expect for maybe lights hanging from the ceiling c. There is no percentage vs. time discount d. Very wide assortment of furniture, rugs, art, etc. but the layout is a nightmare. I understand consignment stores are always a bit chaotic, and that's part of the fun, but this place feels like a bunch of hoarders with tables and chairs literally stacked to the ceiling. It's so cramped that you really can't see most of the items and it's not fun to navigate. Hope they find a bigger location. read more

A friend recommended On Consignment for furniture for a new house. It is a treasure trove of all styles of furniture. When you go you need to plan to spend a little time, the furniture is stacked to the ceilings. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable about the furniture. You need to go often as they get new consignments everyday. The last time I purchased a Chinese bench that was close to the ceiling...Its a perfect fit in its new home. Of all the consignment stores we shopped while in Dallas, this was by far our least favorite. It was so incredibly packed with furniture that it was difficult to even navigate through the aisles. My husband couldn't bear the place and had to leave, waiting outside for me. I will say that the two people working there were absolutely wonderful. They greeted us cheerfully, looked through their stock to find three tables that fit what I was looking for, and offered great deals. They were fantastic! But the experience overall lacked pleasure, as the stock just couldn't be seen, or in the case of a specific piece I needed, found. One owner stated that they had outgrown their location but it was too excellent a location to leave. Maybe so, but in its current state, the place is at best, a furniture storehouse, and at worst, a fire hazard. Very disappointing. read more

I always say this is her "little" side venture that is just not so little anymore! We have been in business 22 years! Voted #1 Consignment Shop by Park Cities People Newspaper readers 2011. We are a well into 7 figures a year consignment shop. This achievement done with only 3000sq ft and NO advertising, all word of mouth! We are a very high volume shop and do have lots. Something for everyone. Most seem to love the thrill of the hunt. We work hard on fair pricing, both for the consignor and the buyer. Everything has a price range, just marked at what it came in at and is reduced at the counter depending on the length of time in the shop. Come by and see us! Wonderful for shopping, but a headache to get them to pay you for your consignment. My goods sold in November and today (February 6th) I am yet to receive my money - additionally was met with an unpleasant tinge of attitude from the staff after calling to figure out why. I was shocked to read Tarah's review because although I live in Houston I frequent this lovely Consignment Store in Dallas' uptown...in fact I am running to Dallas in the morning for the sole purpose to pick up an item they have been kind enough to hold for me and called with the best pricing. I have purchased many many items and they have always negotiated the price based on the condition (which they have already accessed) and the time in which it has been in the store. I purchased the chandelier I am in route to pick up at the lowest price they would have offered it because the piece is out of date and needs a little reworking (less than 25.00 worth). As I look around my house and office I have purchased many many pieces from them and all have been at a good-great price. Sloan is fantastic as is the owner (she is also a designer and was helpful with a few photos of my home I brought in for direction).
