My dog doesn't need to be groomed every 4 weeks. Then I'm told he doesn't like his feet touched or the hairdryer. Then why was I told he did fine all that time? I noticed that they started getting more dogs being shoved into the schedule. That last appointment when I picked up my little guy she was gruff with him in how she was speaking to him. My dog came home traumatized, stressed out and depressed. Needless to say we found a new groomer that my dog loves. I've never seen my dog leave a groomer so happy and calm. Four months after we left the old groomer I decided to leave a bad but honest review about what happened because we were heartbroken that he was traumatized. I suddenly get a call on my home and cell phone leaving a message that she cares about animals and takes her job seriously and that I was unfair and mean in my review. Not an apology that my dog was traumatized or I was treated rudely, but demanding that I remove my review. Then tell me to call her or come to the store and get a refund. I've never seen a groomer who cares so much that they only reach out after an honest but less than stellar review and demand it be removed . I was even blamed for her actions. PS the new groomer said she didn't have any problems grooming him at all. Wow

I brought my dog in for grooming and couldn't be happier. Since it was the holiday season, they added little Christmas bow ornaments to her fur, absolutely adorable. The grooming itself was excellent. The staff is friendly and courteous, which I always appreciate, and it's good to know they also offer boarding if needed. Prices are reasonable too. Definitely a great spot for your pup.

I will definitely continue to use their services. Christine even asked me to check on the finished job just to make sure I was satisfied, which I was. I can now let me dogs out without worrying about poop coming into the house in their paws, though I'll still wipe them when they come in. My yard is now ready for the puppies to enjoy once they are fully vaccinated.

Let me start by saying that I NEVER leave reviews, but I feel I have not choice but to share so…read morethat others avoid this issue. We booked our golden doodle for a groom. I gave very specific instructions including a picture of what he should look like. He has a beautiful shiny coat, and we have had him groomed quite frequently over the past 3 years. When I went to pick him up with my mom I knew we were in trouble when my mom let out an audible gasp when she saw him. He literally looked like he had been electrocuted, or like a caricature of what a mutt in an alley would look like. His tail was chopped so short it looked like a rope toy, and there were tufts of uneven fur everywhere. The groomer asked if there was anything she wanted us to "clean up" but there was zero chance she was ever touching my dog again. I left and took him home at which point my wife was near tears upon seeing him. I called and asked for a manager, and got a call back FROM THE SAME GROOMER. So that was awkward! I explained I needed a manager, and eventually the owner called me back. He was very apologetic and said this had never happened before. He said that he could have another groomer try and "fix it", but only at their Calverton location, which is 45 minutes from my house. He refused to offer any help at the location in Southold. I took him to Calverton today. The groomer there was very professional, but immediately told me that she was not a "miracle worker" and there was only so much she could do to fix this "hatchet job". She also said she had to fix 3-4 dogs from this other groomer just this week! She did a professional job, and did the best she could, but in order to do that, she had to go really short to even out the places where he had basically been shaved down. My dogs hair is now 3x shorter than it ever has been before, to the point where I don't even recognize him. I called the owner back, and explained that I should not have had to pay for this service, as the other groomer admitted it was not a professional job, and that she had cleaned up multiple other dogs done by this first groomer. Additionally, I had to devote three hours of my day to getting this fixed. The owner said the best he could do was a 25% discount off of a future grooming, which I find laughable given this experience. I WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYONE AVOID THIS PLACE FOR GROOMING AT ALL COSTS!!!

We found Dogtown and was very comfortable from the first day we brought Shamrock for daycare. We also boarded him overnight when I had surgery. We bring him at least twice a week and Shamrock loves going, has a wonderful time and comes home happy. We also started using Heather for Grooming. Love his haircuts!
