So far I've had great luck with buying clothes but I've also purchased a broken baby swing and a battery operated toy that doesn't work even with fresh batteries. The swing motor was broken, nothing about it operated. Looking closely at the tag after I got home it did say "as is" but who even needs a swing that doesn't move? It shouldn't have been resold. And I did ask the woman at the register if they check to make sure things like this work before reselling and she said yes. I'm a first time mom and that was my first purchase there so won't be making that mistake again but I will keep shopping clothes read more

I have been buying and selling at OUAC for 9 years. The last two years have not been good experiences. After my last drop off I will sadly not be returning to this store. I had many items NWT, holiday items, botique items and many matching sets which are always good for resale. I brought my items in clean and well organized. They took a very small fraction of my items and when they returned them to me they were disheveled and I could not find matches to all the sets. Not worth my time or the tiny bit of money I got back for my items. I have not shopped here in some time because I believe the quality to not be what it used to be when shopping here. OUAC used to be a good shopping experience but sadly that has not been my experience lately. read more

Writing this review as a seller. The expectation for them to accept all items is always low. However, I had 8 pairs of Boys uniform pants size 6 and 7 in addition to other items they wanted to buy. So in total roughly about 16 items they accepted. I understand why they speak in a low tone when they offer to buy your items because I thought I lost my hearing when I heard her say they were offering me $7.00. Definitely taking these clothes to a shelter because why would I give these to clothes to this capitalist store to sell back for 300% profit. Crazy. Pure insanity. I honestly love what this store stands for and I don't even do reviews unless I feel it's necessary. A few days ago I planned on selling 2 bags of baby girl clothes and a bassinet. They took the bassinet and like 5-10 pieces of clothing, for little to nothing. That's not my problem... my problem is how unsupportive and unhelpful the people who work there are. I took this trip with only my 6 month old, so you could imagine all of the carrying and back and forth I had to do, not once but twice to come back and get what wasn't purchased. Came here not too long ago and when I did I found so many cute clothes for my kids I remember in Fourth of July they had a lot of cute Fourth of July outfits even got them a little swimsuit to go and their little kitty pool and they had so much fun this place has a lot of good fines you can find a lot of namebrand clothes and offbrand clothes and they're for really good prices and they have a large variety of things from clothes to toys to books 2 swings for babies cribs a bunch of good fines it's kind of like a thrift store/Goodwill for baby clothes LOL read more

My review is mixed between shopping, selling, and customer service. As a shopper, there are a lot of good finds for a good price but only when there are good deals going on, that being said a lot of the used items are over priced. You can buy brand new clothing for the same price or even less with sales at the store. As for the selling part, they don't pay much for brand names or barely used clothes. I don't think there is a difference in price between a high end brand vs a low end brand, they will still buy for the same amount. Customer service is zero stars for me. It's actually pretty shocking, for being a children's store the employees are not welcoming at all, and some are pretty rude and don't even acknowledge their own customers. I'm so conflicted on how to rate this one... service is always number one for me. That being said, they seem happy to talk to you, answer your questions, but the store has never been busy when I've come in. Every time has been the same though. I walk up to the register where no on is at because they are all going through drop offs and getting things ready to go out. I, every time have stood for an uncomfortable amount of time, while five women make short eye contact until eventually someone asks me if I'm ready.. they really need a sign at which register is open so people can start putting things on the counter, maybe that would be clue enough that we are ready, but it's hard when all registers are empty. The prices are ok, the boy selection for my sons size was really good but not anything really great in my daughters size. I'd like to see it more organized like long sleeves, fancy dresses, button ups within the size. Haha you'll always know if I was there recently because I'll put things together(you're welcome fellow ocd moms) If they can get their act together at the register I'd give it 5 stars. read more

The staff is rude. The lady that's in charge of the other girls was very rude to everyone even the other employees. The racks are so damn full you can barely move clothes around BUT YET they don't want to buy your gently used clothes. They used to have sales but not anymore. Some things are just over priced for being used. If they would have sales and move inventory then they could buy more clothes from people. I've never sold here, so my review is shopping selection only. Although I'm sure their buy back is just like Platos closet, as they're in the same chain family. In other words, you won't get squat in return for your cute, barely used baby clothes. What I like: 1. Military discount. Like 10 percent. Which helps even more if they're having some sort of special of certain colored tags. 2. Pay attention to their signs. They will have certain colored tags at half off. I scored a bunch of 0-3 sleepers for next to nothing. 3. Great endless selection that always changes. Majority of clothing is in decent condition, but give it a thorough once over just in case. 4. They give you a stamp card. For every $10 in merchandise you buy or sell, 20 stamps gets you 15% off your next purchase. No exclusions on items. 5. You find brand new stuff in their still in package, or with tags attached for about half off. What I didn't like: 1. Some of their gently used name brand baby clothes are a little high. Like some Gymboree, Gap, and Old Navy running for $8.50-$11.50. Pretty sure that was the sale price in store, in brand new condition. 2. They will have 2 exact same items at different prices. Both is gently used condition (sign specifies this) but no reason as to one is priced higher than the other. 3. The place is small, cramped, leaving not very much shopping room for heavily pregnant women or other mothers trying to shove their strollers down the clothing aisles. 4. I understand the staff is young, but they need a little more education on what they buy from consumers. I almost bought this Ergo infant insert that was missing the adjustment and snap. That's dangerous. And certainly not in gently used condition. It should've been thrown in the trash. Good thing I opened the packaging and inspected it first. Just to review, inspect your baby clothes for stains in the lighting near the register. If you don't think you can get it off with Baby Oxiclean, then put it back. Double check any toys, bouncers, swings, to make sure they work and all the parts are there. Lastly, check prices on your smartphone of the big items to make sure you're getting a deal. read more

I would give this store 2 1/2 stars. This store carries a great selection of new and used baby clothes, toys, maternity gear, and toys... their furniture is overpriced. A mini-crib for $400? Ridiculous. They don't pay much for brand new clothes with tags. The strollers and high chairs are name-brand, but like the furniture, overpriced. You may as well head on across the street to Babies R Us, or even shop online for better deals. I have to admit that they carry really cute accessories, mostly seasonal items, such as sunglasses during the summer, or costumes during the Halloween holidays. It's only times like these that I find myself shopping here. You can usually find a few coupons for this store in the Clarksville Family magazine. The organized chaos of Once Upon a Child is a beautiful thing. On my first visit to scope out changing tables, I found myself delightfully overwhelmed, even as I had to carefully maneuver around bouncers to get a better look at the bassinets and pack n plays. I happened to be there during a clearance sale in which every piece of spring and summer clothing was either 50 cents or 50% off, and there is a ton of stuff. Woo hoo! I found several cute outfits in excellent condition. The regular prices varied from 1.50-10.00 dollars, so this was a sale I couldn't pass up. Baby Girl is going to look so cute! They also carry tons of strollers, play gyms, sippy cups, and nursing supplies. I asked about furniture, and the clerk said they don't get that in quite as often as other gear. If you need to let your toddler burn off some energy while you wait in line, there is a little play area with push cars to keep them entertained. Oh, and one more thing: Tutus! I love this place. LOVE. I've bought some amazing toys here, the best of which were a slide that retails for $50 for $14, and a Dora dollhouse and contents that retails for over $100 for $40. I found a nursing pillow there for super cheap. I bought my daughter's ballet and tap shoes (used), as well as tights and leotard (new) for under $30. They have a great selection of cute hair accessories. You really can't beat the value, plus I really like that these toys aren't going in a landfill. I don't have any experience selling items here, and I find the clothing selection completely overwhelming so haven't bought any used clothes here. read more

These people just are rude for the most part and I hate that but I've been able to not let that bother me and sift through their disorganization and find good deals, but yesterday was the last straw for me. I called to see if it was ok I bring clothes. I was told that they ARE accepting clothing and that I can bring them any time. I had two big loads and I traveled 20 minutes only to be told they have an abundance of nb-24 months and that chances are that unless the clothes are new or a certain brand, they aren't going to accept them but they will take a look anyways just in case I may have something they may be interested in. Then the girl indicated that she ddnt really feel like looking through what I had saying that "usually when I tell people that they just take the clothes back home because they don't want to put us through the trouble of looking through them" ...the trouble?? Don't you get paid for your "trouble?" I told her the time it's going to take didn't matter to me. And I can get them the next day, which she said I would have to because it was going to be over 4 hours to even get to them. Maybe an hour later after I had already made it home, I get a call that they have already gone through them and that I can come get them. That was a bold face lie. When I got the clothes everything was exactly in the bin and bag like I had brought it to them. No one looked at anything. I only noticed because I packed the clothes a certain way to make them fit in there and they were just the same. I had put a specific item on top in the bag I had and it was still on the top untouched. I should have been told over the phone when I called that they aren't going to be accepting clothes Those sizes unless they are brand new. And I should have been told when I got to the store that unless the clothes are new they will not take clothes the size I had at that time. They say "we don't have any room" but in the same breath they say "unless it's new, then we have room." and then I asked WHY wasn't I told over the phone and that this was a waste of my time and all I got was "oh sorry" Anytime I walk into this place hardly anyone speaks and I always find myself standing there waiting for everyone to stop talking and giggling amongst themselves and do their jobs and be professional and polite. I've shopped there a lot but this was too rude and disrespectful so I will never recommend this place to anyone. It's very rare to find a consignment store that is organized. Some items are still a little pricey for a used item, but most of the items are in good used condition and the prices are reasonable when you take the time to compare your prices to others. This location has a small play area for your kids under 5 while you shop. You can find some really great deals here. And they have a frequent buyer/shopper card. Ask any sales clerk. The sales they have vary, like any other department store, but it's usually based off of a color and seasonal items. Before purchasing your brand new items that your baby will outgrow in less than 3 months, Check out this location first. This store should be ashamed. They are thieves. I came in with 4 items all brand new condition no scratches scrapes stains or anything. I had a baby einstien walker that was 59.99 I had a VTech riding horse that retails at 152.99. I had a brand new jumbo chair that is retailed at 40 and also a riding princess walker that retailed for 57.99 a and they gave me 32 dollars for all of it. I am livid and they should be ashamed because this woman lied saying that what they do is give half the amount that they will charge. So they are gonna tell me that knowing the condition and retail prices on the 4 items that they are only gonna charge a total of 64 dollars? Yea right! They should be arrested for theft. If dishonesty was illegal, Brandy would be first in jail! It is sad that they lie right to people's faces all the while ripping them off. Took several brand name such as Janie and Jack, Under armour etc. clothes there several with tags . They bought a few and then said that they would take care of donating the rest. So I started going through what was left and it was all of the good name brand stuff that they tagged as spotted. They were wanting me to just leave it there so they could "donate" it to themselves and make 100 percent profit. We have bought several items there in the past and will continue to shop there. But if you ever sell to them you had better watch them. read more

I'm giving this business two stars, only because I've found a few good deals in thier clearance sales. Other than that, they give you yard sale prices for your clothes. I've taken 2 BIG bags of GOOD clothes in there before, and they'll pick out like 6 pieces. Whenever I pulled out some really nice pieces and asked why they didn't accept them, the lady got really rude and got someone else to come over and look at them. After looking over the 3 pieces I pulled out and not finding anything at all wrong with them they gave me some explanation about the inventory being full. That's absolutely fine, but they way they go about the process irks me. Also, the clothing they sell, we're talking WalMart brand button up shirts for $5. They sell for about $6.98 new at WalMart.
