I always find cute clothes to purchase and I've sold several items here as well, all very positive experiences! If you want instant cash for clothes, this is the only place to go in this area. It is all about how you display your merchandise too. I brought new thigh high boots never worn here, and they were rejected. I brought them back with shoe horns to show how they looked with legs inside it. Polished and dusted the shoes too. They were accepted immediately. They thought a crossover purse of a cat with three eyes was a fanny pack lol. They took that purse too. I noticed they like my weird and quirky stuff. I got $56 for items I never used or wore. Good deal. Less stuff to move. I liked their new and never used purses like a black purse with black spades inside the black lining. $85 was still too much and not enough to sway me. read more

I've been going here for over 2 & half years. I am a repeat customer. I go @ least a few times a month, even. I go there with NO expectations but an idea of what I am looking for @ the time. The staff are always accommodating. I've had only 1 bad experience but to error is to human. Someone had knocked & quickly opened the door while changing. I was horrified. I personally think they should only have females mainly work in the changing area but that's just my opinion. I highly recommend this place! 90% of the time, I find @ least a few items to buy! If they don't take your items, just donate, & tax write off. If they take your items, that's less you have to pay if you buy from them! read more

I brought in exactly what they said they were looking for on their 'board' in the store. Some of the items I brought in had NEVER been worn before, some of which were high quality brand names, once again what they had told me to bring in. I brought in over 14 items! I got a message a little while later saying they had not accepted ANY of the items. This place just wants to rip you off for your quality items. You are better off just going to Goodwill and donating your items. At least you won't have to deal with a snooty young teen that tells you that you your nice clothes that are worth really good money, are not worth their time. I wanna start off to say that yes they accepted some of my items but didn't accept a lulu lemon brand new collard shirt that was still in perfect condition. Also BUCKLE brand jeans that were also in perfect condition. The staff itself was very quiet and I couldn't understand a word. When asking questions, she looked at us in disbelief. The teenagers in there were rude as well and I couldn't understand anything they were trying to explain. They were talking as if I could read lips. I'd say the one thing that needs to be fixed is the customer service and communication skills and eye contact to your customer. read more

TONS of tops in a variety of colors and styles. they lack on pants and jeans for sizes larger than 10. I realize this is based on what people bring in. But if they weren't so picky of name brands and expanded it a little they could offer a lot more. Every associate was pleasant and helpful. the store is immaculately clean and well organized. the layout is easy to maneuver around. I think there just needs to be a larger advertising to "average" sized groups in order to get them to bring in clothes. You aren't going to find much high end jeans and tops in sizes over 10- so expanding the manufacturers accepted will boost items given and increase customer base read more

I most likely will never come back here again. The staff ignored my donation bag for an hour. They told me 15 minutes and I stood around for about half an hour and left. I came back and it was still in the same position untouched so I went to question the staff and they said all the clothes were worn or out of fashion although they were mostly new with tags and basics (jean shorts, plain tees, dresses). They told me that they were looking for Jean shorts and swimwear and I had both in the bag. They just didn't look. Very wasteful of my time. read more

But even if I didn't have my kids with me, the vulgarity of the music they blast in there is so unacceptable...I do not want to listen to sings about sex, body parts etc... I really enjoy Platos closet. When I lived in San Antonio last year I was too busy shopping at these cool local shops that had high end work clothes for 75 percent or more off. And I'm very glad I stocked up on work clothes, Because now that I've returned to Clarksville there's nothing like that that comes close for business attire. But Platos is a great place to go for my shoes, purses, jeans, lazy day clothes and other accessories. I love the workers there too! Always kind and helpful, no matter how busy it can get. The clothes here are good, but they claim to only buy current items. The problem with this is when browsing through their store there are items that are not current at all. I found a cardigan there that I also have and had bought 4 years ago when I was 16.This time that I went to sell clothes, they said that they looked through them and found American eagle pants from 2009 and 2011, except I was in 6th grade in 2009 and couldn't wear American Eagle as I was 85 pounds and 4'9. I bought those pants around 2015. And all my clothes were in the same order I had them in when I got there. There is no way they looked through my clothes. They lied to me, and are lazy. Not impressed at all. I was told it would only be 15-20 minute wait on my buy, 45 minutes later my buy was done. While I waited I browsed their selection. A majority of the clothes I looked at you could go to the store and buy it brand new for the same price. read more

This is the best Platos closet I have ever been to. It's extremely clean and well kept. The store is organized into sections for girls and guys. They have everything you could think of from shorts, jeans, t-shirts, short-sleeves, long sleeves, dresses, rompers, maxi dresses, shoes, jewelry, scarves, light outerwear, and heavy outerwear. Staff is excellent, and they welcome you as soon as you walk through the door. They help you with anything you need and are always willing to look for something for you! We went to Platos Closet earlier to try to sell some of my older shoes, some not worn. All about a year old. I know they take newer stuff but took a chance. Was quoted 15 min wait time. Okay cool. Almost an hour later with no update. A girl comes in after us and asked if hers was ready because she needed to go to work. They stopped what they were doing and tended to her. After we had been waiting so long without complaint. Ok... They selected 3 pairs of shoes, all BRAND new, never worn. Converse, Toms, Justice brand. She's going over how much they're gonna sell them for to the other associate. She offers me $19. I get they don't offer a lot because it's old, but that was a slap in the face. The 3 pieces of clothing I brought had been in the closet during the summer. She said she would consider them if I went home and washed them because they have an odor and she doesn't want it to "spread to other clothes." Get the hell out of here. The whole store smells like a thrift shop. I told her that. I also told her the garbage I saw them selling at the prices they had them was trash. Literally saw things from the Dollar Store and Wish in there selling for $15+. Also saw a lot of not name brand and super old Goodwill quality clothes. I haven't been there in years, and definitely won't come back. I understand how secondhand stores work, she didn't need to try to justify the prices. Whatever. But saying my clothes stunk and asking me to go all the way home to wash them so you'll give me a dollar and sell it for $20? No thanks. Also saw fake Vera Bradley being sold, and Vera prints that have been retired for years. What a sad place to shop. Another customer was questioned about having clothes with tags on and the associate with glasses and red hair explained to her that it looks suspicious when people bring stuff like that in. if I were her, I would be living. I worked here and I was sexually harassed by a homeless man. Instead of filing a report they fired me. For a "Christian business" they really don't care about their employees. I've reported them to the BBB but I wouldn't recommend this store to shop at either. They put out clothes on the floor from 2013 bc it never sells. The stinky clothes that smell like smoke and sweat they just spray with spray. They don't have much of a hygiene standard there. read more

I love this store! I have found so many of my outfits here and at great prices. I have purchased most of my summer dresses from Platos for way less than I could find anywhere else and they were in great condition. I have several handbags from here that I love also! The girls that work at Platos are always very helpful and nice. By far a better shopping experience than anywhere else in Clarksville. read more
